    Did you lose any memory settings or rough idle since power wasn’t retained when the battery terminals were completely removed?

    • @SelectVehicleSpares
      @SelectVehicleSpares  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      No, when we restarted the vehicle all the memory settings were still there. There was a traction control light on the dash, which went away when the vehicle was driven off.

    ok what about to adopt the battery, cause every time you replace battery you need to adopt the battery or else the start stop wont work.

      We didn't have that problem when we changed the battery on this vehicle.

      Go with the same battery or you’ll have to do a battery adapt

    my 2018 Tiguan, changed battery to new one from Autozone. BUT after the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the vehicle would not start at all. Had to have it towed to have VW dealership re-boot system-I tried all the youtube stuff to no avail first. Just my 2 cents for what is worth. These newer cars (2018?--5 years old) and computer stuff, great when they work not so much when there is issues.

      Thank you for sharing. I plan to replace the battery myself on 2018 Tiguan. Now I need to make sure I know how to do the programming thing before I make the final decision.

      As not told in the video, They key out of The car!! And best to lock it, then remove the battery, and then the reverse order.
      When you have removed the battery the computer some times does not "know" the car is unlucked. You can also buy a backup battery kinda stuff to put in / on the car while changing..
      In vevy old Cars when the backup battery in the ecu (computer) has gone bad the ecu itself will kinda die, forget All key codes and stuff.. Så i would recommend backup for safety 😁👌

      Yup, you have to use a memory saver. It has to have power at times to save all settings.

    Yeah, came here after doing exactly this. All the electronic Safety- and driver assistance systems went off ant can't be started.
    There need to some current on the cables all the time.
