Watching how fast Clem and Reynor are, and how much more consistent they've both become... I'm even more bewildered as to how Serral has a decent winning record against _both_ of them. 💀
i'm thinking serral is more able to see the long term strategy than clem or reynor. Clem relies on balance/widow mine abuse and micro for most of his games. After his 3 base marine/mine/medivac push, he doesn't really keep a longer term strategy. Just expo and keep attacking. Reynor is solid overall but still lacks long term strategy. Serral seems to know where the weaknesses of the opponent are in late game and exploits them.
He is innovative and takes map control and the way Clem uses mines, he burrows banes and keeps you on your back foot. Clem magically figured out this year that constant multi pronged pressure and denying economy while keeping your opponent guessing is the key. Hes the new macro and micro Jackson. Serral is the Zerg version. I’d love to see Clem play Zerg. Those units, my god. He’d murder Serral if he got a good year as Zerg only

in the fight around 50:00 what Clem was actually doing with the Command Centers was creating chokepoints to force the Zerg army through so that Reynor couldn't use the Ultralisks for anything meaningful. Brilliant.
idk it just makes them boring after the first 5 minutes when something can actually happen. Afterwards it's just clem slowly grinding through whoever is opposing him and not at any point they have a chance to come back.

And I am 100% sure (minus epsilon) that all such commenters are light years away from having even 10% of the skills of these two. I just enjoy watching the games, and getting insights from insightful commentary. I don't even dream of replicating what those two are doing, I'm happy enough that I can complete all four campaigns of the base game... In normal difficulty.

If you let Clem play at home, at these online tournaments, he is quite invincible against Zerg. ESL open cup, dreamhack SC2 Europe, world team league, you name it. I still remember the glorious days where Clem single handedly carried Team Liquid against the entire DKZ and Basilik line up, 2-0 Dark, 2-0 Hero, 2-0 Reynor, 2-0 Serral. But when it come to off-line tournaments, well.... its a bit of a different story where Serral basically creamed everyone.

and this is why I say ghost needs it's auto attack massively nerfed. The fact a terran can mass mostly ghost and just run the field against a zerg goes to prove that. Zerglings and banlings should be able to shut ghosts down if there's not enough standard bio mixed in.

No lol the counter to ghosts is Infestor/ Broodlord, fungals break the Snipes and the Broodling strike kills them. But Zerg players don't know how to not throw away 10000 more resources than their opponents and rarely use Infestors anymore.

As much as i enjoy watching zerg matchups (from being a zerg main back in 2014 when i stopped playing ladder), i would love some more ZvZ or PvT matchups, as i am really curious how the meta looks there. Also weird to see how much the tides shifted, with Zerg going from 6/8 pool and early agression, to them always taking the defensive role by spamming queens and defending their Area. I guess by now wall offs simply kill all early game agression? They seem to lack really any units to do any pressure early (with the queen being like the only, al be it a pure defensive, option without any long time upgrades), zergling is fine and all, but pre speed a single reaper can basically box the zerg in their base solo.
They still do very aggressive builds on occasion, proxy hatch is viable at pro level, as are the occasional ling/roach/ravager rush or baneling bust. ZvZ is constant aggression. The meta is much more varied & interesting now for Zerg.
Zerglings are a cheap unit you can have sit next to a watchtower, which is a terrain feature in some sc2 maps that gives a ton of vision if you have a unit by it. F2 is the default hotkey for select all army, so if you press that button and give any command, your separated zergling you left by the watchtower to provide vision will get dragged away and you lose the vision bonus.
has anyone ever complained about the OC's scan radius being too big? I find it way too big. Widow mines need to be nerfed too. No more air attack. or no air splash.
wow... how many Orbitals did Clem build. Like 25? it's actually brilliant, once Terra hit 200 supply there is no reason to have a bank. But Reynor just never build Nydus. never attacked Clem. Dark is always building Nydus all over the place and wins.
