I hope all of your orchids are growing and healthy. I hope you have help taking care of 400 orchids. I hate when people have so many of anything, especially living things that they can't take care of them. No roots rotting in pots!
It's up there with too many cats.
Your orchids are beautiful. Just don't neglect them because you are overwhelmed. 😊
@@remaeburney832 luckily I own my own established business and my employees take care of the day to day stuff. I have lots of free time!
Hi, I grow my orchids mainly indoors year-round because I live in Kentucky and our winters are way too cold for them. I do have four vandas that I hang under trees outside during the summer. I agree that Phalaenopses are not easy to grow and bloom. I also agree that cattleyas are extremely tricky to grow. I've killed about 10 of them probably from overwatering. I've never been able to rebloom a cattleya despite trying for the past 5 years. However, I still try to grow them. I have better success with dendrobiums. I might try and grow a cattleya mounted to see if I cannot kill it LOL. Your collection is super! Happy growing, James
Thank you for your honesty 😊
Inspiring ! Thank you for sharing 🥰
Thank you!
Fabulous growing area! Here in Australia I have a shade house covered in shadecloth which provides filtered sunlight. I hang all my Dendrobiums because they are huge & get too heavy. Especially when they have flower spikes. We use preventative fungicide spray once a month to prevent too much fungus.
Thanks for the feedback!😊
Nice collection!
I think with Catesetum orchids, the more light = female flowers, less light = male flowers. I envy your grow space 🥰
It's definitely an addiction, that's all I do buyband grow orchids!!! Oh yes I also collect local species from fallen trees home here in Trinidad and Tobago
Cool!
Your space is awesome. The size alone reminds me of a private collector’s nursery. You do reside in a good environment for orchid’s.. Luv your property as well. Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to more vids!
Thank you so much!
Wow! I love your space! You are so correct, phalaenopses aren’t that easy to grow.
Thanks! Phalaenopses are like the divas of the plant world, but we love them anyway!
Loved the tour of your wonderful collection and grow space! ❤ And I hope to see more tours and videos - especially would love to learn your secrets for such healthy dendrobiums. And vandas too. Put your potted catts in lava rock - once I shifted away from bark to lava rock I stopped rotting the roots! (Just saw you have a short about that ❤)
@@marylalone7104 great feedback!
I think you might be having trouble with phals because they are growing outside in the florida heat. If you look for some of the "novelty" hybrids and species (subgenus polychilos), they love heat and would probably do great outside during the summer.
That’s an excellent point
I grow inside on the other side of the world and my grow room is hot and very humid and the Phals do amazing 😁
My dream back yard lol I have to settle for putting them on the wall here in Orlando flay phalanx struggle here to due to heat
Like a sauna
A number(400) is just that, a Number, you have plenty of room and IF you can keep up the care, No problem!!! Your in Florida you don't have to move them indoors for 6 months, just enjoy your collect!
Right on
Same problem here 😂… beautiful collection you have! ❤
Beautiful collection I agree it is addiction😊
❤
LOL phals are the easiest.. thats the first time Ive heard anyone say they are the hardest. Maybe look into summer blooming phals, those are more interesting
Agree to disagree w you . Just like some people say who grow them very well, phals are the most misunderstood orchids. That’s why ppl are killing them so easy. Especially if you grow them outside.
😮
Phals are hard for me too…. lol
Very nice setup. Very nice
Thanks!
I am very new to orchids and I can certainly say phals are not hardest. They’re what people call beginners orchids. They are really not supposed to die after first bloom. I think some how you are neglecting them.
I think my climate is too hot
Yeah, i agree, mine are all thriving, blooming, love them💚😍🌱
@@cindyvan635 yah. I think phals and catts look pretty even without blooms. If taken care properly phals look like big green butterflies 😊❤️. I love plants 🌱 and nature. I would never have more than anything I can handle.
I’m loving your collection! 👍🏽
Thank you!! 😊
❤
Nice
Okay last comment.....Your collection is *&^%$ amazing !
Thank you so much 😀

Very nice collection of orchids.
Glad you think so! My orchids are my pride and joy, I talk to them more than I talk to people!
First thing you need to do is admit you have a problem 😁which I don't think you have 🤣I took five years of watching Phals go down, now I have 30 (reblooming!) and an assortment of other orchids
Thank you for the encouragement!
@@DavesOrchidOasis 😁
Congrats. Beautiful orchids. I also have a hard time with phals.
Oh no!
Beautiful 😊
@@Aliang99 thank you!
@@Aliang99 thank you!
Superb..
Thanks 🤗
Orchids are my drug 😂
Better than meth
Phalaenopsis are colder climate orchids they need period of cooler night to flower…
Exactly
That makes sense
I am in Naples, I've found that my phals always get diseases when in pots. They rot, or they get fungal issues really easily. But they thrive when mounted, and are a lot more resistant to pests AND disease.
Great tip! I’m having problems with fungus too
I think your big bifoliate Cattleya is a Dendrobium 😉(the hanging one)
Hmmmm. Could be

yikes i hope debby didn't flood you.
Just dodged it
