To my Cookies that aren’t familiar with Cajun cuisine, allow me to introduce you to a delicacy here in Louisiana. The Crawfish. Nothing gathers people together faster than a good ole Crawfish Boil down here! Listen, these little red suckers bring a different kind of joy to our hearts! I can’t even explain the taste. But, let me try…It’s kind of like a mini lobster with 100x more flavor! Of course, everyone here has their own way of boiling. I had to come up with the easiest method that also has the most flavor! This is how I prepare my Crawfish Boil and bless my folks!

If you get it without the sauce, then no flavor. And they really think they be doing something smh! : (

  • @IslenoGutierrez

It looks good (but in my opinion shrimp, crab or lobster bouillon would be better fit for a seafood boil, but we all have opinions right?) but let me just put something out there you might not realize. I’m not trying to make trouble, I just want to give some facts that you should know so please read.
The crab boil mix plus the liquid crab boil together are about 18,000 mg of sodium for the whole boil. That’s quite a lot as it is. Thats about 600 mg a pound and the average Louisianian eats about 3-5 pounds so say 1800-3000 mg. But then you added about 25,000 mg more sodium to the boil by adding the bouillon. So you got about 43,000 mg sodium in that crawfish boil. At 43,000 mg, the sodium per pound is around 1400 mg. So an average person in Louisiana eating 3-5 lbs is consuming 4200-7000 mg sodium in a single sitting. That’s a blood pressure nightmare.
Just throwing that out there, not sure if this means anything to you or not. If this doesn’t bother you, keep on keeping on. Thanks for reading.

I'm allergic to shell fish. But I'm going to try this with bone in chicken.

What size pot are you using. I have a 100 qt. Pot. Should I still fill it half way full?

Best crawfish I’ve ever had and I will never go out to eat ever again. We halved the recipe for 15 lbs and used a 60 qt pot, 8 gallons of water

Do you boil the veggies in a different pot?
Or do you boil the veggies first and set the crawfish on the veggies?

I live in Utah so I can’t really eat crawfish but when I went to Texas I had crawfish and it came with potatoes and I was all really good so I’m just trying to recreate those photos
