Eszpresszo They weren't the first all female band, there were all female bands back in the 60s like Girl. Girlschool in the UK were formed in the same years at The Runaways and unlike the Runaways are still performing with pretty much their original lineup today.

As young kid in the late 70’s my first crush of anything close to a “Rocker Chick” was seeing Suzi Quatro (Leather Tuscadero) on Happy Days TV show. There was something so cool and hot about seeing a woman in a different light then the typical Pop or R&B cutouts on the scene I was used to watching on TV or seeing on album covers/posters etc. But, as a teen when a brunette rocker hit the airwaves with awesome songs like “I Love Rock n Roll” and “Crimson and Clover” and looking VERY beautiful AND can play her own instrument...well, it was NOT too difficult to fall for this woman. And, this Gold Standard of “Rocker Chick” has stood the rest of time. And also proved she was more than just a kick azz in the music arena as she has voiced her powerful mind in many topics that have move people and have shown how brilliant she really is. Oh, and when finding out several years ago that she was inspired by Suzi Quatro in music and looks... that made it even more cooler 😊🤙🏾❤️

As young kid in the late 70’s my first crush of anything close to a “Rocker Chick” was seeing Suzi Quatro (Leather Tuscadero) on Happy Days TV show. There was something so cool and hot about seeing a woman in a different light then the typical Pop or R&B cutouts on the scene I was used to watching on TV or seeing on album covers/posters etc.
But, as a teen when a brunette rocker hit the airwaves with awesome songs like “I Love Rock n Roll” and “Crimson and Clover” and looking VERY beautiful AND can play her own instrument...well, it was NOT too difficult to fall for this woman.
And, this Gold Standard of “Rocker Chick” has stood the rest of time. And also proved she was more than just a kick azz in the music arena as she has voiced her powerful mind in many topics that have move people and have shown how brilliant she really is.
Oh, and when finding out several years ago that she was inspired by Suzi Quatro in music and looks... that made it even more cooler 😊🤙🏾❤️

Joan Jett played the Missouri State Fair august 8th 2014 i was lucky enough to get a backstage pass i got to meet her and hang out with her before the show. she really nice and really sweet just a really cool lady. and what a rockin show she put on it was awesome
I saw her in concert in the 80's . She was awsome the crowd was so engaged we sang rightt along with her. One of the best concerts i have ever been to.

Being 40 today, I want to tell everyone what it was like hearing Joan in the 80's sing "Put another dime in the Juke Box Baby" Summer I was like 8 years old and I was staying with my aunt in Lorain ohio, spending days at lakeside with my uncle playing pinball, and watching the old farts play Bacci. Yeah man Joan was one of the earliest pop sounds I ever heard.
