If you have an MBA and have been an Executive or have held corporate leadership roles the there is no need to proceed with this level of schooling. If you are new to leadership with little executive or leadership experience then you should consider an executive MBA. So we agree. Thanks for reposting

Are u sure? I was looking at Columbia EMBA where it is written that the core curriculum is exactly same as a the full-time MBA!!!

I am about 3 years out from applying, but would like to know if being a military retiree (23 years) without employment at the time of application would be a disadvantage for pursuing an EMBA? I plan to start my second career following undergraduate/graduate programs, but I believe an EMBA would be more than worth it to pursue, but as I stated, I am not sure how competitive I would be.

Hi Smokeyhat! This depends on a lot of factors, not just age. Are you in a position to benefit from and contribute to the program? Will you see an ROI on the investment? These are the places to start! Then check out MBAmo.com for a rough estimate of how your other app factors might stack up, though recognize this tool was geared towards FT MBAs. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

What are your thoughts about Professional MBA (Part Time full time MBA) for people who still want to get a paycheck and still learn experience?

We're big fans of PT MBAs!! Great experience and even better education in self-management!

Really appreciate this video for pointing out the MSx program and Sloan Fellows. For my needs desire and and experience level much better.
Would be great have a video focused on the 10 year mark with a full time approach like these two.

I've been in the same role for 19 years and have not been able to get out of it successfully. I've applied for some EMBA programs in the hopes it'll help me pivot my career. I assume this is a waste of time and I'm just stuck in a job I hate for the rest of my life, right?

Goodness I certainly hope not! As a wide-eyed idealist I never believe it's too late and I think one should never give up. There are always pathways to greater happiness if you want it and are willing to follow your destiny. You might like to check out our new Happy at Work program. And good luck with EMBA apps!!!!

I am doing professional mba is that bad

It can't possibly be bad, Theresa! But I am not familiar with this term, since all MBAs are professional degrees. As long as it gets you access to the knowledge, resources, and networks you need to advance your career, then it's great!
