MHR: Sunbreak Is Bladescale Hone a meme or actually good?

I fked up in the video and said it's meant to replace Old Seregios weps' gimmick. I completely forgot there was also the armor skill Bladescade in GU that gave the Seregios wep gimmick to any wep.

With Ibushi weapons you can pair this with Grinder (S) lv2-3 since you jump from blue to purple to get an extra 10% raw and 7.5% elemental modifier for 60/90seconds everytime you go back into purple.
After testing, and input from commenter below, BladeScale hone also works with the following:
- Switch Axe Wire Step Silkbind
- Scroll Switch Evade (this one seems to have very generous timing even with no evade window)
- Hammer Charge Swap (Going from Blue charge to Yellow)

Glad I found this video. Been using Evade window 4 Talisman with Embolden Lvl 1 and Adren Rush Lvl 3 for the longest time since Glaive I frame on the Aerial Dodge(Dash) is so bad. Evade Window is basically needed for Aerial Spam. Dodge rolling giving me 30Raw from Adren rush is already amazing. Not needing to sharpen ever using Master's Touch Lvl 3 because of this skill(I always thought it was bad cause of the older games) really completed my build.

Iframes went from 13 frames to 8 frames (@60fps). It's not the lowest it's ever been. It's back to the value it was before World.

I like it. Although rolling I-frams are nerfed hard, it's still enough with evade 5. I made a set that runs on a sliver of purple sharpness and can reach +400 attack.

You can use this with Silkbind skills. Works with the Swaxe jumping dodge, and you don’t even need to the attack either. You can also just dodge them.

Yeah wirestep is the only silkbind it seems to work for.

Did you run any sort of evade window in that build?

Yeah I ran evade window 2, because I couldn't the tail slams without it :/
Also thats really nice to learn about the wire step silkbind. I tested this setup with the Anja hammer and was able to surprisingly maintain purple without too much trouble. I'll test Keeping Sway on hammer and see if it can proc BladeScale.

@@Vanov You probably already tested things yourself, but Wire Step was the only evasive move I found that activated Bladescale Hone. I tried all the silkbinds with s or counter frames, as well as things like SnS backhops, HH performance, etc. The only things that activated it were standard evades of any type (i.e. rolls, hops, Dodgebolt, etc., basically anything that used the roll button), Switch Skill Swap Evade, and Wire Step for SA.
My guess is that since Wire Step has the same evasion animation as Swap Evade, it somehow slid under the radar. Wouldn't surprise me if they "fixed" that down the road. It's a really fun skill to run though, I'm definitely thinking about sneaking at least a point in on any build where I can justify Evade Window/Bubbly Dance/etc.

Actually I found one other move that procs Bladescale: the swap step that happens when you disengage Strength/Courage Charge mode (i.e. go from blue to yellow with a held charge). But it *doesn't* work on the nearly identical swap step that happens after a Spinning Bludgeon Charge -> Strength/Courage Charge (this was a pain to test). Now I'm just confused as to what their reasoning is for what does/doesn't proc it.

@@AttackBacon Nice, thanks for the input! Yeah I sat around a bit after Tix's comment and tested everything I could, silkbind wise. I was hopeful more stuff would work than just wire step, most notably keeping sway on hammer. It's good to know that atleast the charge swap works though!

Because Hammers have a counter that isn’t really that good, slap on some evade window and this becomes one of your best friends
