If I can't get customers to drop their car at mine then I have to use my volkswagen bora. Proper trooper and the boot is a decent size to fit the essentials. That's what it is about sometimes... The essentials.... Currently looking at buying an estate car so that I can get a gazebo in there. If I remember correctly car cleaning guru used to do do it out of a volvo c30 and now does it out of his 370z. My bora is modified and looks pretty cool and customers do compliment me on my 15 year old car. Does it look professional... I don't know but when I get the job done I don't think the car is a problem
Yeh love the fact car cleaning guru does it out the back if a 370z. If you can live without a tank then a car wins hands down for me. I'd be interested to see what it's like without rear seats in an estate car to see how much stuff fits in
Can't take the seats out as I need it for the kids aswell.... Selfish buggers they are 😂😂... But would be interesting... Could potentially squeeze a water tank in the back if you did.... Maybe need to make a false floor or something.
@@MrMoz0887 yeh that could work. Someone on our detailing group on Facebook has a vauxhall corsa van and that's got a water tank but has a high payload
Hi Dave, thankfully the client had a outside tap, with all the equipment you had taken with you,you sorted it,but you would need a water tank to valet cars, how many cars would a tank do in a day like yours? great video.
Hi Steven, my tank gets me about 3 cars and it's perfect for what I need. Did have larger tank but the van was sinking in the ground so had to shed the weight 😬
Great video as always. I use my car as I haven't got the van I fit everything in if need to take more items then George the hoover sit up front with me
I would need some sort of marquee working here in Australia, I've just washed my wife's car this morning and by 8am it's 32 degrees and expecting to reach nearly 40. It would make it a really hard job for a professional.
Really interesting even though I am not a professional in any way shape or form. What struck me was the pricing - seems about right. Our local hand car wash at Tesco will charge £26 - more for a big car - with all the issues to do with dirty equipment, harsh chemical etc. In view of this £50 for a safe professional valet seems reasonable. How often do your customers have this done?
Hello Peter, i used to have so many prices and it was over complicated so I switched things up and now stick to £50 maintenance valets some clients are every 2 weeks. Some may even say come back in few days
Very valid points you made there Dave. Always wise to clarify with the client/customer exactly what needs doing and carry only what you need to get the job done. Fewer items to carry and sort out and of course less expense as no separate vehicle. It's only when the customer asks for something extra or they were economical with the truth would you need extra items. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Karl, when I started out I had a real tough time and made many mistakes working on bad cars in bad weather so it took many years to get good ones like this and I'm fortunate now that I got clients who have power and water. I'm thinking of getting a Skoda yeti or something instead of the van
Hi buddy What products are your go to products please? What ceramic spray was you using? Love the ideas of the general car valet you have shown here . Great video by the way
100% agree man I always try to work my best around them as a lot of customers expect when they have kids they will get crumbs, bits etc all over again most people are quite the same with that sort of thing but definitely leave them in if possible or in the other case be very clear to your customer before removing them if that’s what your process would rather be either way that sort of thing be very clear on what your doing before you get going with a hoover 👍🏼💎
@@cobbledetailing4438 In a regular school run car its the muckiest part! I'd put it clearly on the receipt that the car seats have been removed and must be checked prior to use. They're a nightmare to get right
In the shop. We ask customers to remove them. If need help we do. But we don’t put them back in. In the USA you get sue for everything. It’s a liability thing. We don’t want a customer to say their child got hurt or die because we put it back in wrong.
Interesting that you use a ceramic spray. Is there any reason you choose this over an all in 1 wash and wax shampoo or ceramic shampoo? As these would cut down the amount of time spent on the car and could still be used in the rain

Hi mate! First of all great vid, great charisma and good skills...I used to do this for Secure Valeting working for BCA (British car auctions) but didn't go the extra mile with valeting. Still I enjoyed it and became passionate about it and start thinking more about this lately. I was just curious if you can give me a start up price (no van or car required in the price) for tools, products...roughly. Also is it worth spending 5 6 + hours on a car if you can provide other services more in depth, such as wax, polishing...or would be better to stick to 2 h £50 a car taking your example. Thank you and good luck !
Hi Dave, how do you sell your maintenance program? What happens if a customer has a really bad car but he booked for a Standard 50£ valet? Usually they say "not too bad" but when you get there it's full of dog hair and sand....how do you manage customer's expectations and charge extra? That's something i struggle with...i feel that i might disappoint the customer by charging him more even if his car is really bad and needs extra time
On my website I put terms and conditions on my price list. So the maintenance program only qualifies for certain vehicles. So on my maintenance program I put 30 mins max in vacuum cleaning so once that 30 mins is up I'm done and they have to pay extra.

@@iceman9646 not a lot let's out it that way. When I look at hours put in for filming, money spent on equipment computers camera etc. Then add the time to film and learn editing skills it's not great at all. I'm only doing this as I want to help others and hopefully long term make better money
I mainly use Gyeon and Bilt Hamber. Brands like Meguiars have too many products and variations of the same product, I can't be dealing with that
It's a minefield my friend
How are the clients about not having a water tank? Do you carry a multitude of hose to tap adaptors?
Great channel.
honestly at first i was worried but soon realised clients never minded. sure you couldn't do some jobs but it was never a do or die situation. I just took the loses with the wins
Well done mate and great insight! I use only Meguiars stuff really, I know I should branch out a bit and no doubt will in the future!!👍🏻
Yeh if meguiar's works for you then stick with it. I just love trying other brand's but will always recommend megs 👌
Great content once again
Thanks Mike 😀
This is a really good informative video. Nice one 👍🏼
Thanks mate appreciate it
Can you do it....yes you can ....sorry I watched to much Bob the Builder with the kids ...👍😁
Lol my son watches that along blippi. Makes my head hurt lol. Thanks for watching mate 👍🙏
What r u spraying first...pre-wash, bug remover?
Cracking video! Subscribed! Can you list the items & products you used, please? : )
Hello yes they are in the description
Hi Dave, thankfully the client had a outside tap, with all the equipment you had taken with you,you sorted it,but you would need a water tank to valet cars, how many cars would a tank do in a day like yours? great video.
Hi Steven, my tank gets me about 3 cars and it's perfect for what I need. Did have larger tank but the van was sinking in the ground so had to shed the weight 😬
with clutter in cars i do an inside first then out baby seats i put back in back to front or not movem at all
I hate removing seats but gotta be done 👍
Great video mate I like bilt hamber but love garage therapy shampoo
After doing this so long now I come to the conclusion that I like so many different ones. Could never pick a winner 🏆
I always use a mask when detailing! Also always always wear gloves.. you really don’t want any of that chemical on your hands/skin.
Yeah the breathing in of wheel cleaners is awful
I use a car for my business my favourite products at the moment are made by Mirrored by Halton absolutely cracking products

Great video as always. I use my car as I haven't got the van I fit everything in if need to take more items then George the hoover sit up front with me
Lol I remember when Henry hoover used to sit in the front. Family sit in the back Henry up front 😂
@@epicautomotivedetailing exactly priorities there mate ain't it cheers 👍
Great vid fella ,thinking of starting this, what if the customer dosent have an outside tap .
Thank you, unfortunately there is a rare occasion where you simply can't do it. But when you look at the odds of that it's pretty rare in most cases.
@@epicautomotivedetailing ok cheers .
I would need some sort of marquee working here in Australia, I've just washed my wife's car this morning and by 8am it's 32 degrees and expecting to reach nearly 40. It would make it a really hard job for a professional.
We never really get many days like that. The weather sounds great for relaxing but working in, no way. I struggle in the heat
@@epicautomotivedetailing I'm from the UK originally and struggle with the heat, it hit 40.5 today and it's not summer yet lol
@@tonyw3250 sounds lovely (well not for work) but still lovely
Really interesting even though I am not a professional in any way shape or form. What struck me was the pricing - seems about right. Our local hand car wash at Tesco will charge £26 - more for a big car - with all the issues to do with dirty equipment, harsh chemical etc. In view of this £50 for a safe professional valet seems reasonable. How often do your customers have this done?
Hello Peter, i used to have so many prices and it was over complicated so I switched things up and now stick to £50 maintenance valets some clients are every 2 weeks. Some may even say come back in few days
Where's your Pump Sprayer from? Love the video
Thank you. It's frogchem (UK website)
Car Guru uses a 370z last I looked. And the storage on them is pitiful 😉
Yeah fair play to him. I got a set up designed for people with bikes which is coming soon
M&S tea 😂😂😂
Great insight into a day in the life of a mobile car valet
Not PG tips but it did the job 👍
Great video fella 👌
Thanks mate appreciate it 😃
Very valid points you made there Dave.
I'm thinking of getting a Skoda yeti or something instead of the van
machine polishing is separate thing you know the clients after a while how bad it gets
Yeh once you have a good relationship with clients its no biggy even if you forget the polisher!
Hey there great stuff! Do you have a video with your set up and equipment?
Hello my friend yes I got a business playlist with few van videos in
Hi buddy
What products are your go to products please?
What ceramic spray was you using?
Love the ideas of the general car valet you have shown here .
Great video by the way
Thank you very much mate. I'm using brilliance by bear car care. (UK Brand)

Great video thanks, I like using MADCOW brand cleaning products 👍🏻
Thank you. Haven't used them products yet
I tell them to remove anything big,
Seat pram etc
Good call 👏
another fantastic video
Thanks again!
When you get a really muddy car. What do you do with the mud that comes off the car when you're at a customer's home?
Very rare occasion I give driveway a quick blast off. But only basic cleaning
Golden rule! Leave the child seats in unless the customer removes them
very true!
What’s being done is a mini detail which is what we call it here. Wash and quick cleaning the interior.
really good video! thanks!
Thank you that's kind of you
Such a lovely amazing video. Thank you buddy
Thanks for watching 🙏
Or while it’s dry do the outside and when it’s raining do the interior
Great video once again just a silly question what's the best generator to use on pressure washers Andy
Hello mate I don't actually bother with generator I use extension lead
Interesting that you use a ceramic spray. Is there any reason you choose this over an all in 1 wash and wax shampoo or ceramic shampoo? As these would cut down the amount of time spent on the car and could still be used in the rain
I love your channel and videos. I'm currently an engineer age 38 looking to do this instead part time and then grow my business to small customisations on top. I have engineering to fall back on fortunately.. Ie in winter. I want to go all the

I know the vids you make take a lot of time and effort so the last thing you want is extra stuff to do but id love to have a conversation with you about how you see this industry going and the best/quickest way I could get to being a confident professional with a good brand eventually. I've 7 years studying and 18 years experience being an engineer but I want my own business. Any help learning the money making techniques would be appreciated so much. Good luck to you!
Ps. I also have 4 kids so child seats are child's play to me 😁

Customers supply
Hi, new to mobile valets , just got small van . Do ya always ask customer if ya have outside tap." Or can I use ya electric . Those 2 things seem my awkward moments at mo , in time compressor and water tank I suppose . Help ful vid , thanks
If they are new then yes. I built up a good relationship over the years so it isnt something that happens over time. You definitely need to step out your comfort zone and just explain if you are new etc...
Relly enjoyable vid, fav brands at min are, bearcarcare, alienmagic, and godetailing..👍👍
I've not tried go detailing yet. Tried few alien magic and loved everything I used so far
Best car vac I can get is Stanley fat max
Never heard of that brand over here?
GBP50 for a car wash is expensive or not in UK? In Hong Kong, it is normally below GBP20 for casual wash, some cheap machine wash around GBP10
No way that's cheap. In the UK an average price for a mobile clean is around 35-50 GBP. 🙂
Great work! How did you run the pressure washer without a water tank?
relied on outside tap my friend
@@epicautomotivedetailing There's a fundamental flaw with doing it without a water supply the client may not have an outside tap and or allow u to use it
@@PuzzlePicPlayhouse fair point but from my many years it's been a very tiny percentage so it's worth a risk for anyone starting without a tank 💪
Why don’t you use the AutoSmart stuff mate? I genuinely like their Wheel Dressing, Duet Wash and Wash, TFR Tardis is actually ok?
I did all the time mention them in all my older videos. Business had been going well so tried different brands to mix it up. The tfr is great 👌

Lol think you mentioned that before. I need to start saying be carpets from now on. Thank you for watching 😊
Could you talk about the power hose you use ?
Hello Alan yes of course i may film a video today. Next week I'm filming some very special cars for the channel. Are you a valeter? Love to hear from people about how they do things

Hi Dave. What kind of wheel brush did you use please and how much?
Hello I use wheel Woolies and yum cars brushes. They all in offer for black Friday. They are the best 👌
Awesome men. Nice.
Thank you 👍
Hi mate ive made an entire video on this question. Do go check it out. Its my budget business guide. I reveal total prices for everything at the end
@@epicautomotivedetailing just seen it 10x for replying. Keep doing what you do cuz you're amazing at it.
For the standard valet. Do you only use the bucket method. Or do you use the foam too?
Loved the video! I see you using the Charles hoover, is this a better option over the George? Not sure if its worth spending the extra on a george
That's why I went for Charles identical twin motor. Same vacuum without the sprayer.
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks so much for the reply! Ill get the charles then :)

I didn't realise the tfr can be used on the bodywork. What makes do you prefer?
Go Detailing TFR is really good at the moment
What if you wanted to use to my own water and electricity. Can I make that happen with just a normal car or would I need a van
Hello mate. we recently made a video on this subject a few days ago. Hope that helps
So my Grand Voyager with 5 foldable seats under the floor should be good enough ? :)
Yes 100% long term you will probably want to move on to a van but short term just to get started it's great 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing I been using it as a Mobile DJ car but had to stop from obvious reasons...
