    Love all of them. But I am especially drawn to anything blue and green. Can't wait to see what you do with these papers. You make it seem so easy!

      Blues and greens are my faves too in collage papers. I'll be bringing together another 5 types of papers into collages in 4 weeks or so!

    I can absolutely relate to when you said that you often don’t like your collages until you come back for another look!😆 That happens to me all the time!! I often arrange my collage pieces without adhering them done and leave them alone for a day or so and come back with fresh eyes to finish them! Thank you for sharing your great work and techniques!

      Right?! It's amazing how perspective can change just from stepping away for a while, or passing by a piece later and knowing exactly what it's missing! Thank you so much for watching 😊💕

    Dearest Cat, Thanks for explaining the reasonings of collage composition. I've colllected tons of papers, yet I didn't know how to comprise a piece of art... until now! Everyone and their dog is on youtube showing how to make the papers, but they don't explain how to use them properly. Please do more videos such as this. Thanks ❤

    Thank you so much Catherine I really really enjoyed watching you create this collage paper, it’s really really awesome and they go together so well too. I really enjoyed everything about this project and they would make stunning pictures if you framed them in a thick white mountain that would really make them all pop too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤

      I deeply appreciate your kind words, and I am so happy that you enjoyed the video, that is a fabulous idea about the framing! I am so grateful to you for watching! 💞

    Love, love, love. I really appreciate your sharing the details of your thought process, which is not common. It helps so much to break it down into the details. I think having rules (whatever one chooses) is so important and really releases creativity. Thanks so much for sharing and teaching.

    Really enjoying your videos, which I only recently discovered. I'd be interested to see how you hang your various collage series once they're completed. Many thanks for all you do!

      Thanks so very much for the positive feedback about my videos. I actually teach how to mount and hang my work in both of my classes, Collage Joy and Collage Keepsake, the former of which is opening again in January. I'll consider doing a video on this? Thanks for the suggestion.

    Did you start with watercolor paper with gesso?

    • @catrains.artist
      @catrains.artist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, my substrates are either water color paper or mixed media paper. Bristol or Stonehenge would also work as the base layer.

      Would you mind sharing how to do this? Can I do it on my end, or does each viewer do it themselves? I didn't realize this option was available until you asked for it!

    Pourriez vous activer les sous titres car je ne comprends pas l’anglais et j’aimerais lire les sous titres en français. J’aime beaucoup toutes vos vidéos mais chaque fois les sous-titres sont désactivés. HELP 😢

    HOw do you clean the brushes that you use for gluing down the papers?

    • @catrains.artist
      @catrains.artist  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just water usually. If the brush gets hard because I waited too long, I soak the brush in Murphy's Oil Soap, which makes the brush look almost like new.

    • @EmilyBlitzer
      @EmilyBlitzer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the tip. I usually wash them right away after using but maybe they’re not great quality. I’ll pick up some Murphy’s

    • @catrains.artist
      @catrains.artist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EmilyBlitzer I keep a far full of murphy's, and soak the hard brush in it overnight. A miracle worker!

    • @EmilyBlitzer
      @EmilyBlitzer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@catrains.artist I think I have a crappy brush because it did not work for me.. the tip is ok, but the bristles towards the base of the brush are still hard and stuck together.. :(

    • @catrains.artist
      @catrains.artist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you soak the brushes submerged in Murphy's at least 24 hours?

  • @EmilyBlitzer
    @EmilyBlitzer ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I find my brushes get rigid after I wash the glue off...
