I agree...Once rest of solar industry caught up to Sunpower on solar modules technology and efficiency... there really is nothing that makes Sunpower different that justifies a premium price.
I am so Sad. I have owned Sun Power Solar Cells since 2015, They are amazing. I have little to no degradation in power output. I did tons of research and The Sun Power System is far ahead of anything out there. No other system is even close. I love that if one cell goes out everything else keeps working instead of shutting down the entire bank of cells. (I haven't experienced one issue). I paid them off a few years ago and was saving up to buy 8 more panels because I now have a Tesla Model S and wanted even more output. For me their customer service was excellent. They are an amazing company that was destroyed by cheap Chinese junk that will only last 7 years. Unfortunately when people realize this there will be nothing but junk to buy.
You missed their acquisition of SolarBridge and the associated class action lawsuit, the fact their early modules were positively grounded and required special inverters, and their crappy rollout of Equinox and Helix "systems". Oh also their terrible PVS5 monitoring systems. IMO, if they stuck with making modules, they'd be better off.
I agree … should have made modules as their difference … good point on solar bridge etc … having a proprietary system with no real benifits increased the costs .. vs using say enphase micros …. Thanks for watching
SPWR stopped being ‘good customer service’ years ago. And rush to meet CA NEM 3.0 driven demand led to lots of ‘shortcuts’ that have created a fair amount of remediation liability. And Maxeon in equally bad position so panel warranty unlikely… looking forward to (hoping for) enPhase offering alternative to PVS6 to take over firmware maintenance and panel monitoring
@@solarbygreengreg So far, Maxeon has said they will honor the warranty for modules and Enphase has said you can update the micro inverters to work with Enlighten to monitor the MI's. (You will need to purchase and install an Envoy) My current problem is the Sunvault. I have 17 installed and 3 of my customer's batteries are not functioning at all. Sunpower just sent them emails stating that they would not be offering any more tech support. Sure enough, I tried calling tech support and the message stated they are no longer offering customer service. I'm not sure what recourse my customers have now that their batteries aren't working. We stopped selling Sunpower a couple of years ago. We could see the writing on the wall.
Yes I have heard this from Sunpower owners ... I mention in nmy second video .. they don't have service or support at this time .. hopefully this will change with Complete Solaria bying some assets ...th-cam.com/video/B3kiXj--rbg/w-d-xo.html
I have been a sunpower dealer for 3 or 4 years never even tried to sell their stuff, just too expensive

Agreed... people to focused on price ..not quality...Thanks for watching!

spot on. you mentioned everything i was thinking, after being in solar for 14y. CEO needs to go to prison, not resign.

They'll all open up under a different name in a few months 😔
Nope not under the new rates. All these failures could not find buyers. Go with the wind
No way on keeping a Warrenty. There are other headwinds ahead and the consumer will be stuck with useless panels...
warranty
