Had a great experience with Sun Run. GOT 19 panels, Tesla Wall 3, new electrical box and they moved the pipes on my roof. Very professional installation and clean up. Best thing not a penny out of my pocket and six months free electricity too. My payment to Sunrun is 229 a month, vrs my payment with SCE of 450. And no, i dont work for Sunrun.
Everyone of these companies charge double of what they should charge. I have turned 12 different companies away from my front door here in San Antonio. Screw them all, I am doing my own via Signature Solar here in Texas
Sunrun installed a defective roof on my house with what were nearly certainly undocumented workers. As it turned out there was extensive damage all over the roof. Two years later my roof is still damaged and leaking, and Sunrun refuses to repair it. I'm out $7800. Find some other company than Sunrun for sure. Do your homework and investigate online before deciding to pick a company
Sunrun here sells Tesla, Enphase and recently added Solar Edge. We didn’t even sell it before. Also Tesla doesn’t install here, but it’s my understanding that to they either got out of the sales to consumer as well as the installation business and are focusing manufacturing and selling to dealers.
I am working with Sunrun but throughout Costco. If I go directly to Sunrun, will it be less expensive? Is Costco getting a cut, and that is why it is so costly to install solar, inverter, and Tesla power wall 3?
Sunrun and Costco's partnership has been seized after 10 years. Sunrun is one of the most expensive. Luckily you can cancel up until the day before it is installed. Give me a call 760-473-5878
My only regret is that I didn't buy a bigger inverter, and should have gotten ~13 kW instead of 10.6. I'm thinking I may replace some of the panels with higher wattage panels later if system output falls, or add some on my east facing rooftop. My electricity bill is now about $400 (fees another $400) a year. There is no way I'm going to be able to zero out those $400 in electricity costs in any cost effective manner, as they are all from off peak or super off peak.
Rip Sunpower (filed bankruptcy today). I've enjoyed selling against them this last 10 years. Writing was on the wall a mile away. Sunrun ftw! Fyi I push ownership as a personal preference yet many customers CHOOSE the PPA.
Do you think enphase will get significantly hurt by Tesla powerwall 3? Are you still selling decent amount of enphase, or is Tesla price to attractive to customers?
Where the meter collar is not approved which is everywhere other than a few utilities around the country, the pricing difference is pretty close. Just a few thousand different. Still selling a lot of Enphase as well
Enphase has gotten hurt by their CEOs decision to not honor their contracts with dealers and increased the prices on them. So some big dealers are either not selling their batteries and only buying to cover for existing clients that are adding storage. Or they are selling Enphase batteries only as a last option, mainly if the clients request it.
Why is Tesla quotation are $12000-$10000 is lower from other installers for the same system. I know about string inverter and separate inverters. That does not explain the difference. I know two buddies who used another company and they told me not to used them.
Having competent installers is 75% of the deal. Next, do you go with micro inverters or micro-optimizers. Next, Battery and software. I don't think the solar panel. type is that important. 375 and up should be good enough 400 W is better. I went with a local guy who turns out didn't know how to connect batteries. System sat for 4 months before he found someone. Tesla not answering the phone scared me away from them. So agreed - don't use the big boys.
This poor guy, if SunPower goes belly up, the rest will be shortly behind. California has ruined it for these solar companies, the rest of the world is going to follow californias terrible mandates . I love my solar but it’s scary to see what’s happening, this won’t just be sunpower.
I’ve never sold a SunPower system because when I got into this industry 7 years ago I could see their sales pitch was all a lie. Solar is just going through a slowdown due to regulation, interest rates, and because it couldn’t grow at the rate it’s been growing at the last decade. Solar is just fine. SunPower will be gone or restructured soon

We have solar already. Semper Solaris quoted us $20K to add a battery. We chose not to add a battery storage.

Also we sell just as much Delta and Enphase as we do Solar edge. It has nothing to do with customer demanding one or the other it's location based.

No sales reps, account managers, or in house installers. They’re an ecommerce business and sub it all out.
