@@myaccount__7269 You can but I believe they're talking about a true 1st person POV. Right now the driver cams are from above their heads, presumably fastened to the intake/scoop behind the seat.
This and applying it to NFL/Basketball was a pipedream I had when I was a kid in the 90s. I knew it would eventually be possible but to see this actually become real is awesome. Imagine being able to see players positions as they come out, virtual field, seeing a 3D picture of a composite feed so you can view from any angle. Ability to jump into position and see what they were seeing (i.e. not just seeing their camera but seeing the surrounds). One day soon it seems.
I'm so stoked for you bro 🎉!! Currently saving up for my first iPhone hopefully a 15Pro and this Apple eco-system is doing wonders... Samsung will surely need to ramp up as well
F1 does the most amazing job with their streaming service. Imagine if the NHL or MLB allowed to stream the games live, and you could watch from each individual players POV.... AND could go back wand watch any game dating back to to the 1970's? All for $85 a year?!?!?! Seriously, F1 TV is years ahead of any other streaming service.
Imagine some time in future if the vision pro was just simple eye glasses rather than this huge headset, and still being able to do all this that this guy is doing, that's the dream.
I think these things are cool for a month or so but like most things virtual reality i end up just wanting to relax with a beer and watch the damn race on the tv. I have the quest 3 and the novelty wore off quick. It is just not as relaxing to me.
It would be even cooler If instead of your room you had a virtual environment like you're setting in the stands of whatever race you're watching. They could do that with stationary 3d cameras and seeing the cars pass.
Actually those things already exist in F1 App and Vision Pro just creates some screens for you to watch them on as if you don't have enough screens in your life
One thing that would piss me off though is how delayed the footage is on the track map, the car on the map was already through the turn but in the onboard footage he wasn't even up to the corner yet. Otherwise this is ridiculously awesome.
@wbeel There is an advantage with the VR headset though. Even on a 90" TV, having this many views would make everything rather small. With the VR headset you could have a virtual 90" TV for every view.
@thejman3489 oh don't get me wrong, I'm choosing VR above monitors 10 times out of 10. But till there are more affordable options, most of us are stuck with watching f1 using monitors. And for those who do, multiviewer is the closest you'll get!
@thejman3489 oh if I had the vision pro, I'm using that to watch f1 for sure. But as long as its that expansive, I'll just use the similar experience of multiviewer
its literally perfect! no Screen door effect no lag, nothing, of course this is a screen recording of a small section of what I'm actually seeing. without spatial video or depth etc.
Now imagine if they added a second camera in thr helmets on the other side of each, instead of just the one and ran the signal thru a stereoscopic processor so that it was actually the drivers’ real POV. It would be as though you were really driving.
I’ve been using Lapz since the beginning of July! You can have as many drive cams up as you like, even all 20. No real performance hit from having multiple windows up but when you close the 3D driver map the main feed/driver cams go to what looks like about 90hz compared to about 60 with the map open. I can’t stress enough how special of an experience this is for any F1 fan. Truly has changed the way I watched F1 races forever. A genuine look into the future!
@CamTooling Ya the IMSA caution procedures are terrible and ruins the spirit of Endurance racing. At Le Mans they really need to go back to the old way or do something that preserves the gaps between cars.
They should 100% make it a standard to use stereoscopic helmet cameras for the drivers so you can essentially tune into a 3D view of them as if you are in their car driving.
This will look like steam-engine technology when a nural link implant will soon be able to let you see this all in your minds eye. You could sporn into the pit lane, a live car on track, or the grandstands, or be stood next to neo as he stops bullets in mid air in the matrix film. Now that would be something.

make the most of it before he dies

Bro from watching F1 become Director Broadcasting F1
Still better than Monoco broadcast coverage before it went to FOM.
Now they only need to release it for Quest 3...
According to the website, support for Meta Quest is on the road map. There’s no timeline but hopefully it will get here soon.
@@VinodhMoodley Hmm. Figured they were paid for by apple or something. If not, I'm super super suprised that they didn't build this for Quest.
I own 7 Quest 3's, it was either that or buy a Vision Pro.

f1 multiviewer for vr, that's amazing
I thought I was being clever watching F1 on a 55 inch and two iPads this is on a different level. Awesome 👌
'Stroll is usually seeing a wall.'
That's not fair. Sometimes, he ends up in them backwards.

possibilities are endless
I NEED THIS. Wish we could also see the 360 deg camera already installed on the cars live as welll
That's insane!! Hope there's a MotoGP version coming!
Stroll catching strays everywhere lol
My man has a legit Iron Man setup for watching F1. Epic.
Ok wow that is freaking awesome
Wow, That’s a fantastic way to watch a sporting event.
Awesome just Awesome, thank you for showing this.
I can imagine this taking over trading desks easily, total confidentiality and customizable.
this is absolutely incredible... is this possible with other events as well like MotoGP, NHL games? Thanks for this.
Right. Imagine in the future they but VR cameras in the drivers helmets and you can sit there seeing what the driver sees in an intense battle.
That's what all this VR tech is missing big now. Helmet 360° VR camera. Or first row football mach camera etc.
nah bro dis is fire lowkey

Watch all these with my dad would be awesome!! Maybe in another life!! We usually woke up at 2 am to see Japanese Grand Prix and Senna!! 🇧🇷
Tested it. Legit
so many people think its fake AI but I swear this is just a screen record.
This would definitely suit Counter-Strike 2 and E-Sport in general
Did the commentary at 2:34 say Piastri underneath him as you put him under Verstappen? We live in a simulation
Crazy! Can you make the entire environment the drivers eye view so you are fully immersed ?
Definitely going to try this. Any chance it works for MotoGP?
WOW now this is a crazy good use of tech

has anyone payed attention to how good the surrounding sound is extremely good even that u're not watching from an apple vision

I still can’t believe how Apple absolutely threw the opportunity of this vr headsets success with the huge overprice

remember the first Cell phone.. and look at what we have today.. literally Dick Tracy Watches. (that do more!) yes its coming question is When
Question: can you use this for FP 1-3 and Qualifying?
so cool
This shows me that I need to watch the track map more.
I'd find it awesome if you could see in first person the inside helmet camera
this is very cool. Plus, the $3,500 for the Vision Pro is still cheaper than watching one practice in Vegas
Exactly like F1 Multiviewer there are no perfectly sync but still amazing 🤩
f1 multiviewer had the Bird Eye too?

AR glasses in the future are going to make TV better in many ways like this
100%
All the text looks out of focus even in 4K ( though I expect it to be clear to you )
This looks very very good!
Btw, his name is Ricciardo, not Ricardo.
Did it get pulled from the App store?

It would be even cooler If instead of your room you had a virtual environment like you're setting in the stands of whatever race you're watching. They could do that with stationary 3d cameras and seeing the cars pass.
All of this is fun when you do it with other people, not by yourself. As you mentioned you want other people to watch this. ..
yup im taking them to the Austin Race with me next race!
Maaaan that's cool!!! Too bad I'd have to sell both arms and a new born to get that setup!

Very cool, but really VR has to be tried in person to get just how different and amazing it is.

Amazing
Woah, can't believe this came out to Vision Pro (which no one has) before Meta Quest 3.
Is the laps app only currently available on Apple vision pro?
multiviewer allows you to do all of this on PC, apart from the driver cams moving around on track.

How many streams can you have open before seeing a performance hit? At the end the quality of at least the main race window was reduced to keep up.

They should 100% make it a standard to use stereoscopic helmet cameras for the drivers so you can essentially tune into a 3D view of them as if you are in their car driving.
