      Hello, it would appears (I have been back to check) that you require either the app or an RFID card. I have emailed SWARCO to ask them if it is possible to pay by card, I will update the reply when they answer. Thanks Rich

      @malfunction8165,
      Thanks for sharing your opinion. It's important to address some common misconceptions about electric vehicles (EVs) with current data and trends.
      Regarding affordability, while the upfront cost of EVs can be higher than traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, this gap is closing rapidly. The UK Department for Transport has highlighted that the total cost of ownership for EVs is becoming competitive with ICE vehicles due to lower fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and government incentives. Additionally, BloombergNEF reports that EV prices are expected to reach parity with ICE vehicles by the mid-2020s due to decreasing battery costs.
      As for demand, contrary to the belief that nobody wants EVs, the demand for them is actually rising. In the UK, EV sales have been growing significantly. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reported that battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations increased by 76.3% in 2021 compared to the previous year. Globally, the International Energy Agency (IEA) noted that EV sales doubled in 2021, reaching 6.6 million units and representing nearly 9% of the global car market.
      Government support and policies also play a crucial role. The UK government is committed to supporting the transition to EVs, with plans to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030. This policy shift is mirrored in many other countries worldwide, reflecting a strong governmental push towards sustainable transportation.
      Consumer interest is another important factor. Surveys indicate growing interest in EVs. A study by Deloitte found that 50% of UK consumers are considering an EV for their next vehicle purchase. This trend is supported by increasing awareness of environmental issues and the benefits of EVs.
      Overall, while there are challenges to address, the trajectory for EV adoption is positive, with increasing affordability, rising demand, strong government support, and growing consumer interest.

      @@teslatalesuk Thank you for your reply.
      There are not enough materials for every body to have an ev. The environmental damage mining causes is catastrophic. There isn't the grid capacity. The batteries can't be recycled, an 8-10 year battery life shouldn't be charged above 80% and not run down bellow 20%, so only 60% capacity. Battery damage will in many cases right the vehicle off as uneconomical, the batteries costing more than the vehicle is worth. And would you buy a second hand EV? Really? No it's all about control, geo fencing? What's all that about? Sorry sonny, you can't leave your neighbor hood, it's another lockdown. It will all be tied to you social credit score, Oh dear the facebook post just got you locked out of you car. Internet goes down, car won't charge, so just where is your data going? Oh dear, you went 1 MPH over the limit, A £100 fine for you, Where have you been? Ah that's where you went. And on and on and on. Wake up!!!!!, we are being played for fools and EV's are just a pi** take by people who will never drive them or stop flying their private jets. If I got one for free I'd still thing I payed way too much.
