Heather Solimine 💗🙏🏻 you are an inspiration too me as is Jocelyn you two ladies a strong woman and such great advocates for all us going through benzodiazepine withdrawal. I appreciate you both soo much xxx
Thank you for sharing. I am 13 months off of gabapentin, 11 months off of lorazapam and 9 months off of ambien. This is such a hard journey and so not understood by the medical community. The loneliness is so hard along with the crying. However I do want to heal and I face each and everyday as a day closer to get out of this hell. I wish I could talk to you.
I'm sorry. I know how isolating this can be. That's why I found online support groups so helpful. Facebook has benzo support groups and benzobuddies.org is a good forum
I got dependent seriously dependent after 5 days so please even short term it is not good!! The doctor lied to my face as I said no habit forming stuff.
One of the very positive things about being in this community for awhile & is that you start to see people who make videos improve. As the years pass, you can see how much more healed they are. I see it on you too Jocelyn. A year ago, or more, I don't remember, I asked you about med sensitivities and you said you'd probably always be sensitive. I don't mean to benzos or other psychotropic meds, I mean to like antibiotics and other meds. A few months ago you talked about an upcoming procedure you had in one of your videos. Time passed and I never heard what you had going on so I asked you & you said it was a colonoscopy and everything went just fine. You have healed even more to not even notice yourself that a colonoscopy was no big deal, when I'm guessing earlier on you would have been a little more nervous about the procedure, and most of all, nervous about the meds they have to use during it. Can you elaborate on that some more? On how you feel about med sensitivities as the years pass and you heal more.. Thanks.
I've become more confident as I've focused on healing in other ways, like those I've demonstrated in my more recent videos. I know that even if I get thrown off a bit I can get back to a good balance fairly quickly
thank you so much for your reply Jocelyn. I really like your "Forgiveness Meditation" video. It helps me a lot. I love the direction you're taking in it. Filling everything with love & gratitude. It's a good way to be. It's a great thing to practice striving for daily. It's so beautiful and full of powerful healing emotion. Your voice is gentle & empathetic. It's just different when a meditation 🧘♀️ is led by someone who is going through this healing process versus just any regular meditation on TH-cam. It is so much more effective. You can really hear/feel how much you deeply care about helping others in your videos . "The Mortar March" too, all of your videos. You're such a caring soul. Thank you SO MUCH for all of your hard work in this community. God bless you 🙏 ❤ and your family. Prayers to you and your family.
Hi hun. I am on and off 0.5 Ativan for past five years and Prozac 10 years but stoped in 2020 November. I had some major stress in 2021 March and ended up in ER ( I believe I was hitting prolonged WD) I was put on Prozac and Klonopin and after one month I tapper both to fast. Anyway it’s a long story what happened. On and off meds. Now I am on 35mg Sertraline took myself down after I was on 100mg for one week and 0.5 Ativan TDI for one month. I took 0.5mg maybe twice a week and I kept getting crying spells and intrusive thoughts. I lost two jobs in one month. I cannot work like this. My son is paying the bills instead going to college and I feel so guilty because I cannot get myself back to provide. I was told few days ago to take 0.25mg twice a day at the same time. I don’t like being on them and don’t feel much better, I have tinnitus increased every time I take this. I want to ask you, because I want to start water titration asap. Should I switch to Valium this dose and slowly come out of it? Is that 5mg Valium equivalent? How long will it take me until I am off this? Thank you so much.
Hi the taper I demonstrate is 10 months. But that can change as you go. So you're on 1mg total A a day? If so that would be roughly 10mg Valium equivalent. You don't have to switch to Valium though. You could dose A 3-5x a day depending on how quickly you metabolize or start to feel inter dose withdrawals. This will have a similar effect to taking a longer acting benzo without having to switch meds again
@@anatino Don't go any higher, you may start to feel anxiety and then they may up the dose. I promise and pray, you won't do that! Health food store, grab L-Theamine and GABA chewables, help with anxiety. I'd start a very light taper and try and switch over to like natural planet, using GABA chewables and L_theamine chewables. I'm not a Dr., so I can't tell you to do this. I'm trying to help because you are on a smaller dose and whatever you do, don't cold turkey the Xanax and don't increase dose. May God Jesus bless you and everyone! 🙏🙏🌾 Jocelyn's water taper would be a great video to start with she has, on one of her vids.
There were lots of ups and downs. I considered each time I could plan dates and follow through with ease recovery. But 2020 was definitely a turning point for me
Hi Jocelyn, ooh it's me again, still tapering from Xanax and the Dr. wants to try mirtazapine 7.5 mg. I've never taken this. It reads online, no dependence, now withdrawal to stop? I wondered if you knew of anyone trying this and if they were ok, with it. Thank you. I honestly don't know what I would do without your video's I appreciate all of your info. My body is pretty sick right now. Hope you are 100% healed 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾💞
I know you mention titration(spell) in the past I believe. But what options do people have for extended release zolpidem? I’m not sure I can use tool to cut in half. Then the extended part would be open and melting I believe
To titrate any extended release medication you would need to switch to the regular version and then usually dosing multiple times throughout the day would cover the need for the extended release. However as zolpidem is meant to be throughout the night as your sleeping, you may need to switch to a longer acting benzo.
Hello, you’ve answered a couple of my questions in the past. To give a brief update to my situation the doctor I searched a month for wants nothing to do with the Ashton method for tapering me off the 30 mg temazepam I’ve been on for slightly over a month. Sleep is really good but interdose w. Start pretty strong by noon the next day making it very difficult at work. Her plan was to taper me at 22mg for 5 days then 15 at 5 days and then 7.5 at 5 days. And to also prescribe me seroquel alongside it for sleep. HEr other option was to cross me over to 2mg Ativan to stabilize the interdose w. And then if I wanted to taper off that she would help me. I suspect her plan for the Ativan taper would be quick as well. My question is this, what would be in your opinion and easier taper? 30 mg temazepam or 2mg Ativan? The Ativan can be more easily dissolved into a water taper like you have suggested than the temazapam can. I picked up the script for the Ativan but am very hesitant about starting a new benzo and further complicating my situation. Thank you again for any help and advice you have.
Sorry I didn't my notifications all week! Ativan doesn't really have much of a longer half life than tazepam so it's hard to say if it will benefit you or if you might not respond well to a new benzo. But if you feel it's easier to work with you can try it, just know that either way you'll likely need to break your current dose up into at least 2 or 3 doses to avoid interdose withdrawals. As you are already experienced interdose this would indicate you are already very sensitive you may not respond well to such a rapid taper. It may be worthwhile to ask your doctor if she would be willing to do a 10 month taper based on prescribing best practices advice by the Alliance for Benzodiazepine Best Practices. Also prescribing an antipsychotic for sleep comes with it's own risks. If you're already respond adversely to only a month on temazepam it's likely you'll also not do well long term on the Seroquel and then will have to taper off that too- which can be brutal. Please carefully consider finding other methods to address the root cause of your insomnia. I have videos with resources if you're interested
Quick question I was on ambien for 12 years, last month it stopped working completely. I never in the 12 years exceeded the prescribed dose of 10 mg a night. I went 2 straight weeks of no sleep and finally caved and went to the doctor and have went through 22 pills of 30 mgs of temazapam. I gives me sleep but within 12 hours of taking it I begin having horrible withdrawals. I’ve tried twice skipping a couple of days and it completely wrecks me. My doctor won’t even entertain the idea of the Ashton method he just says I will get hooked on valiuminstead of temazapam. I’m going to find a doctor hopefully soon to do this but I was wondering how much of an impact did taking ambien all those years have on what is happening to me now with this temazapam that I’ve been on less than a month and will this taper of temazapam erase the ambien usage before it? Thank you for any help you can give.
Did you switch directly from Ambien to temazepam so that you're only taking temazepam now? Going with that assumption Ambien and temazepam are basically the same thing except temazepam has a longer half life. So you're sleeping because you're essentially taking 3x the ambien you were on before. The good news is that yes, tapering temazepam will cover the ambien taper. The unfortunate thing is it sounds like you're experiencing interdose withdrawals. This means you may need to consider micro tapering and dividing your night time dose into at least two, maybe three doses for day and night. This can be done without Valium but it might affect your sleep when you cut back like that. Then again it may help you feel better as it stabilizes you more throughout the day
Where’s a website where I can find doctors that USE the Ashton Manual? My psychiatrist won’t prescribe me Valium, because she says she just doesn’t prescribe it… but she’ll prescribe me Klonopin… to replace the Xanax… 😒😔
You can make Klonopin work if you have to. But hopefully you can use the prescriber list at benzoinfo.com to find a more educated prescriber. Good luck!
Hi! I follow your stores and I remember that you have taken an antibiotic that caused a lot of issues. I am 2 years off and need to take metronidazole. Have you heard anything about this antibiotic? TIA
You can find out that information on the Ashton manual. She can't answer that question because of liability issues. She could probably only tell you what kind she took. And how it effected her.
Also positive benzo withdrawal. Took an antibiotic as well and had a set back. Their are some natural herbal remedies you can take depending on the infection. I would get in contract with a naturopath if you don't already have one.
Reducing 2mg each 3-4 weeks (Valiums) should better your chances of not getting Anxiety attacks and may prevent rebound Anxiety. You can get rebound Anxiety even after you stop all Benzo’s, so do it slooooowly.😊
