    Left Ruislip in 1992. Good to see the old station,

    Little bit unsettling to see the Northfield bond train running parallel out of Acton Town. Odd not to have to wait for a opposite direction District at Hanger Lane Junction though.

    As the section of the Piccadilly Line from Ealing Common north towards Alperton and South Harrow was built by the District Railway, sub-surface stock has clearance for this line where the sub-surface stock can (and has) used this section of line in an emergency where they can reverse at South Harrow. Up until recent years the sidings at South Harrow were famous for having a few withdrawn sets of former Jubilee Line 1983 stock trains stabled in the sidings prior to scrapping, with one 1983 stock train having deteriorated so badly that a tree had literally grown through one of the cars of the train!

    So slow now. The 73 stock used to belt along at one time. Rayners Lane to Uxbridge is on an A stock.

    You wouldn't usually see 2 Picc trains at Uxbridge because more met trains serve there

    Please excuse my ignorance but why do I need to know what designation that a stating signal is given?

    • @TheBritFromOz008
      @TheBritFromOz008 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This was produced as a London Underground in-house training film, probably to help drivers with route knowledge. The signal designation is important info for drivers so is included here. The Video125co DEV films don't have this information as it's not relevant for casual viewers.

    Piccadilly line should be ATO

      Under one of the previous subsurface resignalling plans, the Piccadilly line trains were to get ATP, and I think it would have covered Ealing Common - Rayners Lane (have to check that though).
