I cant believe this song is real. My ex and I used to listen to DCFC all the time. It was our band. He recently passed away. I havent seen him in years. I had a dream he visited me and this song comes out... general lyrics or not, this song hits me so fucking hard.
I feel like crying just reading this. Oddly, I discovered this song after looking up a friend's spotify. We've never really talked for so long after I confessed then we became strangers. A few weeks ago I dreamt about her confessing that she likes me too, unfortunately I have a girlfriend now. After looking up her name in google recently, it seems like she did like me before too.. it was probably just a bad timing on my part and I wasted our chance.
@@leizero I'm sorry to hear that. Dreams are certainly mysterious, but I like to think that we play out what can't / doesn't work out for us in reality in our dreams, like an alternate timeline. Sometimes they are wishes, sometimes nightmares. My dreams often trigger things on my mind to the surface and I can easily spiral into "what could have been," only to remember that speculating spirals me into inertia, and I have to accept what is permanent in order to get out of it. It's like a harsh reminder. I actually dreamed of my ex again this week, so this song/comment are relevant. Over two years later, still trying to make peace with his death. I have my regrets on what I could have done better, but I know that is a form of self sabotage, and that I need to give myself more credit and less criticism to lessen the pain. I hope you find your peace. Take it easy on yourself.

Two and a half years of retrospection here. Northern Lights is the best on the record, this is probably second. The whole album is...fine. It's super vibey, which is awesome, but it lacks the depth of their earlier stuff. It's tough to compare an aging band against their youthful selves, but it's bound to happen. That said, the Blue EP was fucking fire. If they combine that EP with TYFT, their future stuff could be really good again
Death Cab has made consistently great music for 20 years. Not a single misstep, which is impressive as hell. Toast to the most underrated indie band of all time

To the original OP, even tho DCFC hardly gets radio airplay in The Netherlands they still have a following here and sell out shows, so yeah its a shame some people are missing out on some great songs but they are still successful and make me and many other very happy with their songs. So who cares about underrated, they make a good living doing this and make people happy.
I love both bands and don't disagree with the OP statement for the most part. Just yeah TV on the Radio is up there for excellent quality music with no missteps since 2003 and yet you wont hear of them anywhere other than maybe random play on Spotify/Pandora or word of mouth.

I do love this new feel and direction. It’s fresh and exactly what I needed. I still wish they’d ditch the reverb and just sing but very excited for the new album and this new vibe seems to be a good decision in my opinion 👍🏻👌🏻

Listened to this song everyday during a camping trip we took a month ago. Spent time with my brothers and their kids, I didn’t know that’s the last time I’d have two brothers. Two weeks later one of them passed. I listen to this song every night to remember what it felt like to be at peace, happy, and not yet grieving. I’ve been dreaming of him, but he’s not “there”. He’s always either staring directly at me, and just looking, or he’s turned away where I can’t see him. I try to talk to him bcuz in my dream i can process something’s not right, but I can’t ever get a response from him. I’m waiting till he talks. Till I dream he spoke again

I was a sad bastard 7.5 years ago, she left, out of the blue. We had become more like roommates after ten years together. My whole shit came apart, so I had to save myself. Lookin back after many dreams where her and I had that conversation that will never happen, I never could understand what she was trying to tell me, its just as well. People change, I no longer have the rose colored glasses on, no closure from her wll ever come, it no longer matters, I found myself again, and it is light years from who I would have been, if we has stayed together.
