As a traditional Catholic wife, mother and now grandmother this truly resonates with me and what traditional Catholics are trying to restore in our faith. We are big advocates of not just being a stay at home mother and homeschooling but the art of being a homemaker. I feel it is a priceless gift I have been able to hand down to my oldest daughter, teaching her how to manage the home so when she marries at the end of the year she can take care of her own and be a helpmate to her husband. If you wait to do this when kids come you will be overwhelmed. Many ask her, what do you do for a living now, she cares for her niece in our home but ultimately she is training to be a wife and if God wills someday a mother. Many do not understand this state in life. It is wonderful you do and you seem to do it with such joy and beauty! Beautiful message today!
such a great point about you, as a homemaker, not being tied to a job giving you flexibility to maneuver according to your husband. Being a homemaker has helped in the area greatly, in my life! My husband has needed to work THEE the craziest hours for his career. He was a tractor trailer mechanic for Walmart's huge fleets of trucks for many years. When do trucks come in for repair? At night, when they aren't making deliveries. He worked very strange 2nd shift hours & strange days of the week which often included weekend days & almost all holidays (Walmart ONLY closes for Christmas). He also worked as a plow truck driver for a municipality. That sometime included 15-16 hours shifts when storms happened. He now works for a power company, & can get sent away for days during storms. He has worked 4am - 1pm, 10pm-10am & everything in between. BECAUSE I was home, nothing at home really changed - no daycare issues, no meal issues, etc...I learned to hold down the homefront, so to speak, and carried on. I could always have a hot meal ready for our family to sit down to at noon (for many years this was our main dinner time) and I could be here to send him off to work with a lunch, thermos of coffee, kiss & a hug. When his hours at work would change, I would completely reinvent our life schedule to accommodate family time as a priority (which is the main reason we started homeschooling). The blessings of this have been immense! My husband's coworkers are incredulous that I get up early, when his hours change, to still make him lunch/coffee. They all have to buy lunch out. And even the ones who's wives are home when they are getting ready do not do ANYTHING to help see them off to work. They often don't even get out of bed to give a kiss or hug. I always keep in mind how fleeting life on this earth really is. My husband could head off to work & God forbid get in an accident. Do i want to be lingering in bed & miss the opportunity to show him that I love him? It makes me happy to be of service to him.
This is so good. I’m Suzanne from my husbands account. I hope you do more of these videos as women we often like to revert back to fear or trying to control. Your simple reminders are so needed.
Wise and godly! It takes a level of self and situational awareness on how your attitude affects others. Some women just bull through life and don’t even care how they affect others or the atmosphere they bring with them. A long time ago I learned about countenance and how your face reflects what you feel and such. So I started practicing a Godly countenance and not letting all my feelings reflect on my face. Not that you suppress your feeling and ignore them… all things in balance, because I know feelings can communicate certain things and you need to evaluate what you feel and why. But you need self control. So knowing who you are, and knowing who God is, takes reflection. And just because you feel something doesn’t mean that it’s right. That’s why we take all thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. But when I see people just living by their feelings and spouting off what comes into their head, it makes me think that they are not aware of who they are and how they are coming across. It makes them look immature also😢. And just a general lack of self-control these days seems to be gone. We need a little more dignity, compassion, and etiquette 😊❤. Thanks for the encouragement and godly reminders 🙌🏼
Hi Kelli. Your channel pupped up on my page a few days ago. I got married 3 years ago. And had a similar experience how God lead me to stay home and become committed helper to my husband also gives me time to volunteer at my church and Christian Organization. I have to admit that sometimes I was still struggling with thoughts of feeling less or not being productive and successful as other women who have their careers and “ own life “ A few days ago I went for a fast wanting God to confirm to me that my life of living is his will and that’s when one of your videos pupped out. I could maybe have a part time job but can’t even imagine full time. We don’t have a lot of money ; but enough for us to be content. Also I have been praying before got married and after that My life would glorify God, my marriage and become the woman He wants me to be but honestly I never thought this will be possible. 😊 It is fulfilling more than I could Ever think .
As an empty-nester I STILL have those feelings pop up yet when I look at my 4 beautiful children and the very close relationships we still have, I know it was the best decision I made. When I was young and had doubts, I feel like God put in my spirit, " you will take none of the processions, titles, or anything else you earned, to Heaven with you, only the ones you love, who you invested in". That changed my whole perspective. Good luck. 😊
I wish I had watched this yesterday. We have strep going through the house, our well froze, my two-year-old is out of his mind, and basically life is crazy right now. I definitely struggled to keep it together, and that phrase would have helped so much.
I love your videos, Kelli! I found you on Instagram, and I love getting to watch your TH-cam channel. Your videos are lovely and soft and calming. It's like chatting with a dear friend 💛
Also, do you think you’d be able to do a video or address the issue of distraction in this Modern age. Lately this is a huge struggle, at least for me, the phone is a huge distraction. We have a business and I’m tied to it to help my husband with business related duties, but it’s also got a draw when I’d rather be doing more productive, important things. I’ve noticed another problem is spending to easily. I’d appreciate your perspective! Thank you!
Wow, Kelli, this video is so beautiful on so many levels! The Lord called me to be single, and when you were talking about how that 1 Peter verse applies to single people as well in preparation for marriage, I was thinking that it also helps me in my relationship with the Lord (to know what He prizes)-and then you went right on to essentially say that! I discovered that "do not fear anything that is frightening verse" a few years back and couldn't believe I'd never noticed it before. This is an area I really need to work on-and have been trying to work on (it's been hard for me). I also love how you talk about flexibility. The Lord used the word "pliable" with me lately (as in that's what He needs from us, so He can mold us). I saw an amazing testimony a little while ago where this young man had been saved, and the fear of God hit him so strongly that he kind of got stuck there-and became really severe with himself. He started doing extreme fasting and ended up in the hospital! He said the Holy Spirit appeared to him and told him that it was time for him to be more "elastico" (which in Spanish has the meaning of flexible). I thought this was so cool (and it's something I've learned from God as well over time-how we need to remain yielded to Him moment to moment-and the way He moves us is often not how we might think). One other thing I wanted to mention is I had a dream about you a few months back, which I thought was interesting since I don't know you personally. I went to your website after I had it, and you had a honeybee journal that was a confirmation for me. I think the Lord may want me to share the dream with you at some point, but I should go back and find it in my journal and pray more, I think. God bless you, Kelli! P.S. I love how your shirt perfectly matches your unique eye color!
Thank you for opening our eyes to so much, Kelli 🩷

"Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be broken." Thank you for sharing this timely wisdom! Many joyful blessings to you and Scott.
Thank you so much!
I love this, thank you! As a wife, being flexible (adaptable) has been my most valued and marriage saving trait.
Amen, what a blessing!!

We were just talking about this in my home. Great video. Love the reference to Mary, who showed us the perfect example of obedience to God. God bless!
