    Yay! Glad to see the ol' dodge in a video even if she's only a guest star haha. Unfortunately the paint on my '87 w150 is even worse off than your trucks and is on the wish list for sure. Will definitely keep this carport in mind if I ever need one. Thanks Jason and God Bless!

    Thanks. It looks like the Achilles heel are the anchors. I think I would tie those posts down with concrete blocks, or maybe quickcrete. How is the material holding up?

      Hey Johnny. You sir are a fortune teller. In a wind storm the archors started coming up. I put cement blocks on the corners and it survived the winter just fine. We had a ton of snow so I had to be diligent to not let it get built up. The fabric has held up very well. It did get stretched when there was snow on it but it has rebounded. For the money I'm very happy. Still trying to get a real carport built to shelter the truck.

    So I bought the one from harbor freight and used 4 tie downs that screw into the ground 12 inches and the straps hook to them. It's been up for 3 years. I did put another tarp to put over the top because the tarp material gave out from the weather. The stakes are the ones you screw into the ground to keep a pet from running out of the yard

    Jason think you could do one on resealing around the windows and doors? My 88 D100 has little seal left and I'd love to see it done before I take a stab at it.

    At least you got a manual with yours. I have to hunt mine down from google, the company that made it and also Amazon seller. Still no reply. The company does that made it doesn’t even have a manual for the tent I have. So they must have discontinued with that particular one. And 2 days later, still hunting.

    Lag the legs to 4x4 pressure treated posts. It will give you some extra height and you can drive rebar through the post to anchor in the ground.

      Nice McGee. It was better than I was expecting. Especially how bad the box looked.

    What brand/size sun shade do you have for it? I have an '86 W250, that I recently got and am slowly tinkering on.

      It's from CoverCraft. I think you can find it on Amazon.

    Just be careful in high winds. That's the only reason I haven't bought one for my 1966 Scotty Serro camper.

      Totally agree. I’m a bit nervous about using it in winter. But it’s great for the crazy summer we have here.

    Sooo a year or so later how’s it holding up?

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had it for 2 years and then sold it. It held up well for the most part. A few small holes in the fabric. And you have to keep snow off it or the fabric can stretch… or the whole thing can collapse.
