best shed on You Tube!!!
Wow, Thanks.
Well done
Thank you.
Totally using this sound track the next time I build something
Go for it. It's public domain.
Thanks for the inspiration, that is exactly how I was thinking of doing mine.
Go for it!
You taught me a few new tricks. I have never considered aluminum tape on the corners of barn tin. As you were screwing on the first piece of siding next to the door opening I was screaming at my phone "No! Slip the J channel in first!" But then I saw the jamb extensions and blocking between the ribs. It's a cleaner look, I must admit. The gable roof edge is a difficult shape to trim. While I have a few ideas of how I would do it slightly differently, I can't honestly say I could do it better. No matter what, that's a hard profile to work with. Adding a ridge vent would be my only constructive suggestion.
My dad, who passed a few years ago was a carpenter. I remember helping him after school growing up. In the late 90's, we installed countless deadbolts. Most homes did not have them at that time, but homeowners were willing to pay a carpenter to come and drill out their front doors. Dad got started in carpentry prior to prehung doors being a thing. His weyerhauser lock installation kit dates back to the early 1960's. A wooden box, felt lined, with brass hardware. The jig inside, paired with a modern hole saw for the today's steel doors, could drill a door in a minute or two. Easy money. On the ride home- in his beat up old pick-up, he would always say the same thing to me, "locks keep honest people honest."
Thank you for your comment. The ridge cap was installed in a way to provide ventilation through the gap in the pitch of the roof. I believe you can see light when I pan up with the camera from inside the tractor barn. Here is the link to the complete build of the unit th-cam.com/play/PLnyHBYU1MZ55hHmME-wTyliFf_mHMNTD6.html
I’ve watched this video at least a doezen times… thank you!! I just put some metal on the frame I was gifted from the neighbor!
Thanks.
You have nearly restored my faith in America. I want you to know I thoroughly enjoyed the Video!
Wow, thank you!
YES, YES, YES. I got a free frame too. I saw this in my head, mine is only 10 x 17. Almost done repairing it. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Know I have an idea of how it should go. I also understand the term "WE" means "me" most of the time.
Same here.
Nice. My late parents lived in a rural area where u see a lot of those temporary carports and they never seemed to last. This is a great solution
Very cool!
I have built metal buildings for awhile. This guy made this look easy. Really great video.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you very much for sharing this video. I have been trying to come up with something like this forever. I have a lot of products stored in my backyard with tarps covering the boxes. I could not afford the real warehouse after my son passed away by suicide, I am a widow trying to hang on to the business, but I could not sustain myself with wages and a commercial lease. I closed the biz and brought everything to my backyard. I have 140 pallets full of components and machines. Watching your video, I think I can salvage a lot of my goods and I hope for a chance to be able to do some production from home. Thank you again, this video gives me hope and I am sure someone can build 4 or 5 of these for me then I will be so grateful. I need to protect my goods from dust, moisture, and rain. I am so excited. Looking for a handyman to help me now. I am ordering 5 car ports after watching your video..each one is 12x20ft. Wish me luck 🤞🤞
I purchased the metal from Home Depot. Thanks for watching.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 the metal building is very expensive. I looked into one 30x40 the costs were around $40k dollars. I bought 5 carports for around $2500.00 and I will order the extra tops for $100.00 each, The total I spent is $3000.00. if I can find a handyman to do this, I am sure it will last me 10 years, I will be gone before that. LOL. I am almost 70 now, the warranty is a year against the tubing. Not against the cover. So I bought one extra for each. I am happy with the instructions given here. So if someone can do this to sell, it definitely has a lot of attention. The size I am looking for is huge, I could not afford $40k at this time.
Legend has it... This garage was actually built in 30 minutes and 48 seconds! Well done sir.
I have been called other things before, but not a legend, at least not this month. Thanks for watching.
Nice idea for a small off grid cabin as well maybe some thin ply wood maybe a extra weld or 2 of pipe (as added weight might be a concern) then tin spray foam concrete sub floor. Rain catchment system composting potty wood stove lil 300 watt portable solar system and bang nice spot to stay in while camping or building a more suitable permanent place😎
Go for it. It is working for me.
Adapt and overcome, do what you can with what you got. Excellent job👍👍
Yes! Thank you!
I have finally met someone as cheap as me 😂.
I did this with a 10x17 harbor freight shed. Put it on a framed floor, framed and used lumber for ends and the cheap 1/2 galvanized corrugated metal sheets beed up 3 years it snows alot here in northern Michigan not a problem works greay
Nice work!
Thanks you my friend see you soon
Thanks for coming
Nice too see a man have pride in his work
I love being creative. Hint. th-cam.com/video/UK6mkxENCao/w-d-xo.html
That is one amazing man! I would of loved for him to be my dad! I would of been building right along with him! His daughter is bless to have a father like him! Amazing work. I gotta build my carport alone lol 😂 we all need a dad like that! 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Very cool
Sometimes the YT hands me the exact video I need! Great video and thanks for sharing! I live in a city/county that is too involved in what happens in peoples’ backyards. So the temporary canopy is one of the most frequently used solutions, but winter winds just trash them. So while I might not go full on like you did, even just improving the structure with your ideas may be the ticket!
Glad it was helpful!
I appreciate this video my friend I’m definitely going to be doing this
Go for it. Glad I could inspire you. Neat.
I like the music you chose for this video! Nice job, Jerry! Have a Happy New Year, you and yours! Cheers!
Thanks, you too!
What a great idea! Nicely done
Thank you! 😊
Love your work!!!
Thank you!
I like the music! It goes well with your Cowboy hat!
Thanks.
You’re a genius sir!!!!!!
Congrats on the barn build.
I’m a construction GC in Fla. and I’ve built just about everything since I was a kid.
But this video is amazing🤙🏼💪🏼
I just have a question, how does it hold up during strong winds since I saw that it was not anchored down nor any footing prepared?
Her in the South (Miami) we get MMA style winds. Especially during hurricane season.
Anyways, just wanted to share my views and to tell you that you’re very talented and one amazing Craftsman🤙🏼💪🏼
Please keep us posted with more great videos like this. I just Subscribed to your channel. Thanx.
I have it anchored and we had a really good snow load on it this past year. Hold up very well.
very nice. I live in Southern NH and we have a lot of snow I would run the roof panels the other way so the snow can slide off easy. I have a bunch of these frames to close in..
Thanks for posting this love the hat.
Sounds great! We had a huge snow load on this a few months ago and it held up. As I was building it, I was testing the load strength with my 210 lb carcass. Held up as well.
Also in Southern NH here. Good call on the roofing. For tax purposes, I wonder if they will assess this as a portable garage or taxable permanent structure once all this is added on.
Here in Oregon I know of no such tax on these. It is still portable. I can easily disassemble it in a few hours and pack it off. No floor, and the snow load on the roof panels are sufficient for the three feet of snow we get. It did hold my 250 pound carcass while I was putting it on, so that was a great indicator of the durability of the snow load it can handle.
@humkid yes most likely I am in Cheshire County and my neighbor did this and it ended up getting taxed recover with a tarp after enclosing. and as long as they don't look in its a temporary shed.
You must live in or near K falls my hunting partner has a ranch the surrounding’s look very similar yours, only he’s more towards rocky point
That's a masterpiece alright! And yes, that tractors sexy lol. Keep up the good work sir. And thanks for the classic/ orchestra music. Nice.
Thank you so very much.
now thats a quality job sir BILL
Thank you sir. I appreciate that.
This is so beautiful. It is absolutely gorgeous! You are very talented!
Many many thanks
Perfect video, I love the music over dialogue hahaha
I'm going to make one just like this, I'm renting a slum that doesn't have a proper garage.
Go for it!
Good job very smart. You did well working alone.
Yes, thanks
Great job!
Really enjoyed the video! I'm looking to do the same with my 10x10 shelterlogic shed that I'm tired of replacing the canopy on every 2-3 years. Thanks for posting.
Go for it!
What i like ,a man that takes coffee breaks!🤣,,well done
The best!
Up until this video I wasn’t quite certain how to convert mine into a shed. Great video, really enjoyed it. Thanks 🙏 ❤❤
Great to hear!
Thank you for watching. So pleased I could inspire.
This is fantastic!! 😮😮. Well done sir! Question if you remember what tye coat for material minues the canopy, can you share with the class please and thank you?. Or materials list?..
What talent I bet there's nothing this man can't do!
No fear of trying anything.
Ok I watched full video. Great Build. Great VALUE
Awesome thank you!
Awesome! I was a bit nervous when you put tins on the top…. It looks very dangerous!
It all worked out. That thing even holds a snow load as well as my 200 lb. body.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 Awesome! Because I had experiences slipped down from the roof a few times. Anyway, you did a fantastic work!
What a nice build. Thanks for sharing. Oh, and man, you did that all by yourself! My brother told me that saying about honest vs not so honest people. Always stuck with me. Take care. See you soon.
Thanks! 👍
Fantastic video, thank you very much 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I love the shed, great execution- but brother you are killin me with that drill hahaha. I'd be happy to loan you an impact if you ever take on another project like this.
Also I am stealing the hvac tape idea to seal up the edges. I dig it.
I have one now. At the time, I do with what I have in my inventory. Thanks for the suggestion.
i have the exact same frame!! i was going to do this with mine but didnt know if it could hold all the waeight from the metal. this has shown me it has no problems and going to start on mine the next warm day here in ky. But i have a concret slab to set mine on. going to be great. thanks for the push to get it started.
Sounds awesome. Be sure to anchor it down though.
Thank you for your comment. But be sure to anchor it down to the ground.
I was gonna set it on treated 4x4s and anchor all of it to the slab. I need it a little taller than it originally was. I think this frame is 8ft in the center original.
I love Classical music thanks. Oh yeah nice shed !
Thanks.
so awesome, watching this at almost midnight and i literally cant wait to go out and start measuring. i didnt see a ballpark of what it cost. probably my bad i usually have to watch videos with volume way down cause i never sleep and dont want to wake everyone.
Cost has risen since I produced this show. Check out in the descriptions, I provided a Playlist of the entire build, section by section. You can look up current pricing at your local Lowes or Home Depot online.
Very impressive. You sir are quite the craftsman.
Thank you very much!
Honestly, this was pretty great to watch. Only thing that messed with me was the music being too loud over your voice at times. Thanks for the content!
Sorry about that
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 no worries, still a very good video!
Having had a 30X50 shop with the roof metal laid the same way. I would not again I would have made them lay wood across and lay the ridges from top to bottom leaves dirt and water lay in the ridges and cause rust
30x50 would be too large of a span for this application.
THANK YOU, for sharing, and for playing REAL music. Really nice build, I just subscribed without even checking out your content because you seem like a really nice fellow.
Awesome, thank you!
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 Glad I did subscribe, you have a lot of videos I'm going to watch. Thanks again for taking time to share with us.
I sure hope you enjoy them.
The only problem I can force is failing to put a plastic membrane down before the stone chipping. The damp will rise through the stone chipping and form a considerable amount of condensation on the inside on all the metal walls and roof. The excessive damp from that will cause untold damage to what is stored inside. As anyone who as ever bought one of those cheap metal sheds.
I was wondering where all that moisture came from. I will pull a layer of rock out, lay plastic, seal the perimeter with cement and replace the rock. That way it will keep the rodents out as well. Thanks for this great tip.
Nice to be humble.
Very nice of you. Thank you Robert.
Would some rodent proof vents work also to let moisture out?
❤ the vid, how you came up with such a unique and cool idea that came out great!
I am capable of doing DIY projects but find melyself spending majority of my time to come up with the actual planning and design before even starting. We all learn together and there is always room for improvement and all that we do. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays!
Well done sir! Well done!
Thank you kindly!
Superb work and video - extra superb by yourself
Thank you! Cheers!
You are a BADASS Jerry!! My Auntie & I will be doing exactly what you just taught us!! What advice or tips would you have for us my friend?? Can you share how you added shelving and if you have ever included flooring-what was your technique?? YOU ROCK!!!!!
Place plastic sheeting down then I put gravel, my shelves are all free standing.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 Right on, thank you! I wish we were closer because I sure could use your help. I was released today from the hospital after having lung surgery.
Music was too loud at the end and I could not hear your comments.
Otherwise very helpful video.
Sorry.
I love the music. Though you apparently mastered the art of working solo, a couple of buddy’s would have come in handy for a few of those jobs
I have to. No one around.
Really nice job Brother!
Thank you kindly!
Awsome This video is what I was looking for thank you for taking time to make it
Glad you liked it!
The devol's in the details! Great job!👍🏆🍺
Thanks 👍
Epic Music for Epic build 👏 👏 👏 bravo 👏
OH WOW! A kindred spirit. THANKYOU. I love classical music as well.
Good work…👍

So creative, good job.....
Thank you! Cheers!
Very impressive!
Thank you!
WOW!! That’s incredible!
Glad I could help. Just be sure to anchor it down.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga831910:51 can I ask what brand of building you r using? I like the size of it.
The frame is from Shelter Logic.
Excellent job!
Thank you very much!
Great video! Looks awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
lol this guys voice is so soft and almost feminine while at the same time dude is an absolute legend of a man. The dichotomy is too much for my feeble mind! Great Job on the build!
Wife loves me just the way I am.
You have done a great job Sir.
So nice of you
Pretty cool 😎👍
I am planning another one for auto repair.
Can I get a breakdown on how many sheets of metal and sizes, dimensions of lumber used ???
I've got 2 of these and turning 1 into a shelter for my horse the other for goats. I'll be adding vents and windows to both and inside wood panels for both.
Thanks! Was an awesome build to watch!
I'll get to work on that for you. It will be posted in a new video.
Nice job considering you did this all by yourself.
Thank you very much for watching.
good job man , thank you
You're welcome!
Good job
Thanks
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Dang look at the muscles on that man yummo
LOL.
Came out nice. I didnt notice in the build if you anchored it to the ground. Not sure of the winds in your area but here in kansas un-anchored that shed would be blown all the way to OZ. I see its an older video , how has it held up ?
Carport anchors which came with the original structure. amzn.to/3yp3SVL
Thats a nice BGM. 1812!
Is it?
Very impressive,we have an old hoop house on the property and have been itching to do this very same thing with it ,the more out building storage, the better, but i just had to see someone else do it, thanks for the "clinic" ,any idea on how much your total cost was?
Thanks. Check out today's pricing at Lowes or Home Depot.
Very nice and beautiful ❤❤❤❤Thank you ❤❤❤Subscribed ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😊

Glad you enjoyed!
What an amazing project thank you so much for the inspiration and all the gems you laid out for me I'm ready to start my own thank you very very much. PS. Around how much did you spend on the panels?
The entire project cost under $1,400. Metal and wood from Home Depot and the gravel from the local quarry. Paint from Walmart.

Great job! I am considering doing the same. What type of screws did you use to fasten the sheet metal directly to the pipe???
I use these. amzn.to/4efSuKB
Jerry, that was perfect! This is my beautiful wife’s husband Dwight. She is watching some other videos. I’m a First time watcher and subscriber. Nice job😊😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Great build and artistry. I cannot subscribe because there were FAR TOO MANY COMERCIALS!!!!!!!!
But very good build video. Thanks
Sorry about that.
I just bought the same garage with the plan to do the same thing when the cloth comes apart. I had the round top one already and wanted to do this but it didn’t occur to me until after I had already bought the new one that I very well could build the round one with corrugated metal, it would lay down fine. Maybe eventually I’ll build that one up too so it doesn’t go to waste.
Great plan
Go for it. As for the tree debris collecting on the roof I just sweep them off or allow the snow fall to naturally scrub it all off.
How much is all the metal siding? I have 3 dead car tents.
For all the metal, trim, gravel, wood, and hardware & paint cost under nine hundred.
@@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 Can you provide any dimensions for the wooden pieces Excellent job!
The door width is eight feet total. Four feet each. The height is dictated by your metal frame structure.
what is the original portable shelter model? I missed it. Looks like a 20 x 20 frame?
