“I question if I love him”- Alex’s mom
“I don’t think I’ll miss him”- Alex’s stepdad
No wonder why he’s a wreck.

Not really, his behaviour pushed them to this he needs to own his actions but they need to workout where things changed and why he feels this way

First, the family was the sweetest ans the most efficient in my opinion. Love how respectful they were.
Second, Alex is not rebellious, he is badly depressed and his parents only make it worse. I feel so sorry for him...
thank you
@@AlexPoucherGaming are u the guy from the video lol?
He's also disrespectful. No getting getting around that.
He is cuz he's always being hurt and when kids are hurt and have no outlet they poorly express it because they have no tools or the emotional capability to know what to do
Alex is quite sweet
No wonder Alex acted like that he’s family says they don’t love him to his face
Poor kid. Just needs guidance and love

Yea i agree!
Yea agreed

It really pissed me off when Alex’s stepdad said he wouldn’t miss him like that’s beyond sad

I mean it makes sense even if that’s his step kid no one would miss the person who is constantly lying to them and being straight up rude to them even if they are their kid
im sure that alex’s parents were one of the main factors in his life that caused him to act the way he did
He meant he wouldnt miss his behaviour.

this world doesn’t deserve this dad. mans was the most calm, fair, heartwarming person on this show. best episode on the parents side by far.
these parents are actually rlly sweet, i cried when he started singing the songs for his daughters. honestly think they’re the best parents of the show
Yes. Since I started watching the show, these two are probably my favorite parents...also they are in Chicago (or more likely in the suburbs), and I was born and raised in Chicago myself, so maybe I'm a bit biased 😉. This is very much how I was raised!
Best dad of the show.
It was literally one of the seeet
Agreed, best Dad.
Same I lost my dad so this touched my heart and made me think of my dad
The dad seemed fair with the whole smoking thing. At least Alex was allowed to ask if he wanted one when he needed it. He was fair when he took that privilege away from him. I actually think that the dad is really nice
Frankly, he’s not even that strict.

The love and understanding that the dad shows Alex after he reads the awful letter from his mum is absolutely beautiful
I watched this before, and I forgot about this part, I can’t wait to reach that point.
Alex’s family treats him so bad, I’m so happy he got this opportunity. My parents are identical, except more physically and mentally abusive to me, but I feel for him so much, seeing him get love and appreciation from their family brings so much joy to me.
I hope they’re still in contact. I hope Alex is doing well.
so weird how the second parents seem like they care more about him then his real ones

I love how they bleep out the name all the time but then the dad name drops himself.
I always notice that 😂😂😂
This episode aired December 2010. Dina and Alex were both 16 years old. Now, in 2024, they are 30 years old! Wonder how they've done.
I love the dad in this episode he's so incredibly fair and kind. Never raises his voice

That hug during the dad/daughter outing was more heartfelt than any man she's been out with. I love that he was their dad for the week. He really made an effort to use positive reinforcement and humor to keep it light and understanding for the childish behavior, then made sure he asked the heavy questions to open them to deeper conversations they didn't get at home maybe. Like when he talked with him after reading his mom's letter.
nahhh if my mum and stepdad straight up said on tv they probably dont love me and wont miss me then i would be acting like alex too 😭

Adults and parents don’t inherently deserve respect. They have to earn it just like everyone else. Having said that I think this family looks close and like they genuinely enjoy each others company. The parents seem like the type that earns their respect very naturally.
Parents don’t inherently deserve respect? Yikes.
@@sashab9899he's not wrong. But as we all know, most people as children are also extremely narcissistic and can't differentiate good and bad parenting. Neither side is ever fully in the right morally or logically
@@sashab9899 so if your parents turn out to be crackheads and drunks when you come out of the womb, they still inherently deserve respect? Yikes.
putting myself in alexes shoes although he’s extremely irresponsible that letter from mom wouldve really really hurt
The dad is one damn fantastic parent! Reminds me of my dad back in my “I know everything and can do it in my own” at 16😂 now being 22 I’m grateful for how my parents raised me.. and I will raise my kids the same way!
True. I think most of us feel like we know it all in our teens but most of us realise as we get older that we never know it all. When parents say 'you'll thank me when you get older' it's actually true. The older I get the more I appreciate how my parents raised me. Especially seeing how some kids are these days
That dad has to be one of the nest fathers ive ever seen. The way he puts boundaries and makes an effort to connect to these kids by showing them its okay to be vulnerable is extremely strongb and inspiring
Why is Dina so uncontrollable and rude towards her own bloody mum? It’s not right.

When the mom said "sometimes I wonder if I love him" Hurt me. Poor kid
Alex doesn’t feel wanted, and the way his parents talk about him I wouldn’t wanna be around them either.

These parents aren't even strict. They're just good parents.
if you have daddy issues beware this episode 😭 holding in tears every second
Fr I’m crying
This family is absolutely lovely honestly. I think these rules are very understandable and smoking isn’t “rebellious” so letting them smoke when they behave is the most efficient way of trying to get them to follow the rules

That letter from Alex’s mom was just cruel. Especially when he was at point where he was doing so much better. Some parents shouldn’t be parents.
Second-most understanding parents on the show when it comes to not smoking
Yeah the Florida and New Jersey families were chill with that too. Good stuff.
The dad was so fair from the beginning, Alex thinks he’s being strict and controlling when the dude is letting him smoke and being lenient
Oh my goodness!! This dad is one of the best dads I’ve ever seen on here!!! He is so fair!!!! If I was sent on this show, I would want this dad and I honestly wouldn’t wanna go back home!!!
This one or the new Jersey dad's would be amazing
This family gave me hope. There are beautiful people out there that want the best for their kids and the kids of the world
The world needs more families like this one. It’s no wonder we have so many problems.
Agreed! This should be shown in parenting classes or something.
Seeing him in tears made me absolutely bawl
I like the dad because he knows that the kid with his pants down is obviously addicted to cigarettes and if he doesn't let him have any he will obviously get ticked off so he still gives the option that he can have one only if he abides by the rules which as any smoker would know that they would do anything for another puff.
Parents really need to understand respect is earned and not gained automatically and this is when many fail. Alex’s parents have failed miserably. Poor guy.
The American family really appreciated and valued Alex, and he needed that because he didn't get that from his original family.
I wish other teenagers had the same style Alex has
I don’t see anyone else with that style anymore
that belt he had was everything (except keeping his pants up) lol!
@crybaby.bubbles I have the same belt and it is my favourite one
Blessed family and l cried at the ending ... l pray for all teenage kids to overcome thier bad habits... lovely song too at the end..
Best parents on the show such good people
@dylan alders second best, in my opinion. The New Jersey couple will always be the winners in my book.
You may not always necessarily like the way your children behave, but you should never say you don't love them. Big difference between like and love.
"I don't want to see your butt around my house!" 🤣
i love these parents who do this. they show the support and love and strictness still that the kids parents missed on.
Awe i love the dad so much he doesn’t get mad and yell he tries to understand 💕
The father is an amazing person.
I didn’t feel sorry for Alex until his mom said “Sometimes I even wonder if I still love him” and when his stepdad said that he wouldn’t miss him..
That man is fantastic when he sang made me cry, my dad passed away in 2007 and I miss him every day I love him so much.
Alex's step dad reminds me of saladfingers.....not sorry 😅😅 if any man was in my life and said that crap about my child, they be out my house and picking their teeth up as they went!
"Augh it's only clothes!"
"AUGH- it's only food-"
bro had me laughing so hard at that, true parenting lmao
21:55 is noone gonna talk about that hahah he defo knew about the sock and had to make an excuse
That’s actually when I went to the comments 😂
God when Alex's mother said at the end, "I'm apprehensive about seeing him" my heart broke for him. Not to mention the stepdad's sour look on his face when Alex was talking to his mom about his job. Wishing that kid the best
The teenage boy cant even fold his clothes properly 😅😅😅 i wish him the best for his life and change for good 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊♥️
Who rolls with the door open and when everyone is still up?
fr bro didnt even try to hide it
He doesn’t exactly seem like the brightest light in the harbor
Bro I can’t when he just pulls up Alex’s pants and says their you go
The fact that the new dad told the girl that if she didnt change she couldnt eat that is sick, you cant starve someone bc of what they're wearing
I agree and also notice how boy only got two days of not smoking after the same mistake (pants sagging)
also her skirt was mid length and she had some tights on! i don’t get it
To be fair, if she doesn't agree she could move out. It's not like they're paying rent. I don't think anyone goes to your house to impose their rules. And yes when you work for the food you put on the table, you are allowed to choose whatever rules you want. That isn't starving someone, it's giving them an option.
I like how fair the dad is and how nice he is towards them. the rules are fair and not too complicated to follow. now this is the type of family that I like😁😁😁
Man alexes parents really straight up said they don’t love him and they wouldn’t miss him
