I have been following Yoyoka since she was 7 or 8, and I agree with you saying she is a special human being that was born with a gift. But, in all fairness she has worked very hard and continues to do so to improve herself. So many people have a gift and let it go to waste, but this girl is so hard working and so humble that she inspires even us old dudes. Glad to see that you have found her. This kid deserves all the accolades that have been laid on her. Please look deeper into Yoyoka. She is a very hard working multi-talented artist with a very bright future.

You are right about everything, but you forgot the most important thing. She has an exceptional father and a mother who give their two children a top-level education based on respect, work to succeed and the desire to always become better. And they do everything so that Yoyoka and her brother can realize their dreams and have a life full of success. She understands this very well and she responds by working very hard. Unlike many talented and prodigious people, she goes from what I understand to a very good music school where she's learning jazz and reading music. And in a few years she will speak English perfectly. So at 14 years old, with this level of investment and passion towards her music, It's impossible for her to miss out on success. She plays the game as it should be played at her young age by agreeing to climb the steps one at a time, to one day be at the top in her field. The way I see it, there is no doubt in my mind that this little Japanese girl will have a very good professional career and that Yoyoka's name will be on many lips possibly internationally. And with this first name, she will have the unique artist name.

Being able to work hard is also a gift. Use hours and hours and days and weeks and months and years to just improve something. In stead of just reading comics and surfing the web and just being lazy, just focus on something. That is a gift to be able to do. So, being extraordinary good is both a gift to be able to do it but also the gift of wanting to do it badly. Instead of sitting here and writing nonsens I could sit and practice with my guitar.

@@rolandkarlsson7072 Being dedicated to the many hours of work and sacrifices necessary to succeed in music or in any other profession, is absolutely not a gift. In fact, it's the simple little word "passion" that allows us to succeed and go far in our ambitions. Without passion of the work you do, you just can't go nowhere. And when you have this passion, you are ready to do anything to become one of the best. And young Yoyoka, is a perfect example.

@@gillesrenaud6926 Oh yes. It is a gift. Most people simply cannot be so dedicated. In anything. Sure. Dedicated parents and the right environment is also very beneficial. But, not all that is in a good environment become prodigies. You need to use a fair amount of hard work each day to get there. And most people will simply tire of it. And do something else or maybe nothing.

She just played this at the Whiskey a Go Go just the other day. She plays at the ultimate jam night there about every two weeks. She nailed it in muddy clothes. She was trapped in her home due to a landslide and had to crawl across a debris field to get to an Uber to make it there. That says a lot. When Ian Paice reacted to her he said she nailed it according to the record. He went on to do a collaboration with Yoyoka and internet drummer Sina. Yeah. He was pretty impressed. IMO this cover was the one that tipped the scales and got her ensconced on DrummerWorld's Top 500 drummers ever list on that website. She is the youngest person to do so. Prior to that Senri Kawaguchi held that honor! She is a magnificent jazz fusion drummer.

Around the same time she posted this, she did a BTS video showing how these covers were recorded. She sets up the kit, the microphones, the cameras, the video and sound recording software, listens to the song *2 or 3 times,* and then does the cover in one take, and does all the post production editing. (She didn't say it's always the first take, but who are we to doubt?!)
But also, since I first became aware of her at age 8 with her frankly astonishing cover of _Good times bad times,_ I've discovered a whole bunch of child musicians who are just unbelievable. There's Miumiu, a Chinese girl who at 6 featured in a multi-screen video performing all the parts and all the voices of _Hotel California_ - including solos!, Voice of Baceprot from Indonesia, in their 20s now but posting killer heavy metal covers and original music since their teens, Nandi Bushell, who played drums live onstage with the Foo Fighters after a months long, tongue-in-cheek TH-cam drum battle with Dave Grohl, and most recently a Thai girl who posts as *Petty Rock* who's now 13 but has been posting live busking guitar covers for years now and I promise you, she has absolute mastery of her instrument and makes playing guitar like Ritchie Blackmore, Kirk Hamnett, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Clarke and even Dave Gilmour - crunching, pick sliding, whammy barring like a 35 year old metal head - seem as simple as chewing gum. She also obviously loves what she's doing. It's astonishing to watch!

As you can tell by my comments, I am a huge YOYOKA fan, and have a personal connection to her. That being said, There is a saying that "When you think you are pretty good at your instrument, just remember, there is a 9 y.o. Asian girl that is better." And this is largely true. To be blunt, they just have better work ethic than us Westerners. Japan is almost single handedly keeping rock alive. If you don't believe me, check out any of these bands. They are all, all female bands, and 2 of them are considered to be top 3 in the world. How can that be when you have never heard of them? See for yourself. I have watched probably 200 "first time" reactions to these 3 bands. It's always the same. 1. WTF did I just watch? 2. Why have I never heard of this band? OR 3. I think I have a new favorite band/song OF ALL TIME. None of these bands have a dud, there are no weak links in the bands, and all of them play as well, or better, live than in the studio. Anyway: BANDMAID - Mostly Hard Rock (w/mixed genres), From their World Domination Tour, and they did! " BAND-MAID / DOMINATION (Official Live Video) " th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html. And for the baddest of bad ass drum solos by drummer Akane (aka "Gorilla") " BAND-MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video) "LOVEBITES - Metal (Speed/Thrash) with probably the two best guitar shredders in the world right now. " LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020]" th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html And, NEMOPHILA - Hard Metal (with some screaming) has gone from doing covers during COVID to probably a position in top 10 now. I never liked metal until I starting watching 2 of these bands, and I always hated screaming, until I heard NEMOPHILA. She has one of the coolest clean voices as well. " NEMOPHILA / DISSENSION [Official Music Video] " th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html. There is also BABYMETAL, but that's a whole other subject. You can thank me later.....just kidding. @@RockandRollRelic Of course, my pleasure, Very Cool! I'm always happy to share the joy that all these girls bring to the world. I'm 69. YOYOKA has a shit ton of old rocker fans. You will go nuts over the Japanese all female rockers. Take your time. Looking forward to your reactions. Once you start down this path, there will be tons of recommendations coming from everywhere. 98% of the recommendations will be nothing short of awesome. Lovebites fans are "The Wolf Pack", BandMaid fans are "Madiacs". BandMaid concerts are "servings", that they serve to their fans the "Masters" and "Princesses". Most of the band members have nicknames, we'll get to that later. Everyone will be nice to you and welcome you to their fan base. Couple of warnings (things that will a few of the fans off).....lol Try not to interrupt solos. Good luck finding a good place to interrupt though. That being said, as soon as the solo is over (even if another one is starting) just pause it and say you're sorry for interrupting, but you had to say this. "Don't worry I'll rewind it" and you will be good. You can use the side arrow keys to move back 5 seconds each time you hit the key. Recommend 5-10 seconds, more is better than less. If you ever want to see something like Misa (BandMaid bassist), when she seamlessly goes from picking, to tucking her pick into her hand and then slapping the shit out of her bass (one of the best bassists in the world), use the "" keys to go frame by frame (mostly 30 fps), because you will never see it in slow mo, it's so smooth. Optional: You might tell them at the beginning, "I will be interrupting the video to react, so if you want to watch the video straight through, please go to the artist's channel and support them directly. The link is below" Enjoy your trip down the all female Japanese rabbit hole. There are a lot of them and they are all deep and fun! Within 3 weeks you will have more recommendations than you can do in a couple months or year.....lol Your format is not too bad, but sometimes your body will be covering up YOYOKA's foot cam, or JUNNA's footcam. JUNNA is "The Most Entertaining" Drummer in the world. Drummers don't get tons of views. Add this to your list (it will make your head explode): This one has 5.4 Mil. " 【 JUNNA 】Through The Fire And Flames / DragonForce - Drum Cover " th-cam.com/video/UKr1H4Jv6is/w-d-xo.html Anyway, you might consider a format like this. Full video view, still room for you and room for graphics, song titles etc around the borders. I throw ideas out, but won't get my feelings hurt if you don't follow them. Basically these are lessons from building Wave Potter's channel. Here is his format. Although I provide this for format, you probably would love to react to this live stream that YOYOKA did, the link is down below the video. Watch the first 20 seconds (a narrative) before she starts playing to decide if you want to react to it. YOYOKA Let's LOOSE on Livestream! 'Get Lucky/Happy' Drum Improv! Drummer Reacts th-cam.com/video/_on_Z3rjMHM/w-d-xo.html Lastly, if you're in the mood, I paid Wave to do a documentary on YOYOKA. He did an awesome job. Covers her life from birth to age 12. Actually brings tears to my eyes within 30 seconds of of the start....lol 31 Mins long. We timed the release so she would be able to watch it in my living room with her dad right after I picked her up at the airport. Another highlight of my life, watching her reaction to it. She loved it. It has 400K views and is #3 most viewed on his channel. It is the only one in the top 21, that is not "Alip Ba Ta" (finger picking guitarst). Whew!
