He wasn't as awful as you're trying to make him sound, especially given what he was asked to do by the Cowboys.

Last year if you watched you would of seen he was rarely beat or out of position, most of the big plays he gave up he was there with them the receiver just made a better play. That's going to happen in the NFL because they get paid on that side of the ball to, just like the defense.
Hold on his rookie season wasn’t horrible. Cmon now . 3 interceptions (which he led in on the team) , forced fumble , sack and plenty pass break ups. It was just an up and down season just like a lot of rookies on the first season. It wasn’t the best season but it wasn’t horrible though.

(Also - How I wish data like that in the NextGen snippet was widely available to comb through by anyone, and not just given to us in single tweets!)

That's a super misleading stat. PFF grades corners on plays he's targeted as well as when he's not targeted. Diggs is a corner that baits QB's to throw at him and because of this he looks like he's out of position due to that. His completion percentage allowed is top 3 and QB rating while targeted is also top 3.

Cornerback is one of the hardest positions to transitions from college to the NFL and with no training camp he did really well. Yeah he got beat at times but, so have the best corners of all time. By mid way of the season Cowboy fans knew Diggs had a chance to be special... that is if you know football. Nobody could have predicted what we are seeing now but, you act like he wasn't very good at all. Leighton's play didn't drop, his health did. He's healthy again this year and it shows. Diggs didn't have an offseason last year or training camp and that's why he struggled to begin the year. By the end of the season he was lot better just like this year, he's getting better by the game.
@@bigred9991 wrong before he got hurt last season (neck) he led the league in missed tackles (constantly out of position and overruning plays ala why our run D was so azz with him and Jaylon granted the D-line contributed in that as well) and had that distinction all the way till week 10 or 11 off the top of my head even though he got hurt mid-season...not sure what LVE you've been watching but his snaps have been severely reduced now with Neal and Micah Parsons in the mix ...it's been 7 weeks and what memorable impact play can you recall him making ...trust me I'd love nothing more for LVE to return to his rookie all pro form but let's stop making this false narration about injuries affecting his play ..ala Jaylon Smith that had one pro bowl season as well (Lve rookie season..look like the best lb duo in the league) only for him to fall of the cliff...mark my words ...Lve is following Smith out the door If he doesn't improve...since Jabril Cox has better upside

He plays in a weak division . Eagles , Skins , Giants . I also don’t understand why the cowboys are still in the NFC East . They should be in the NFC south .Carolina should be in the east .
If the MVP award wasn't just a glorified QB trophy I would definitely have Diggs in the top 5 to win it.
Maybe an award for CB getting burnt week in week out and given up more recueving yards than any other CB in the NFL
