  • This Full Length Hour Long Yoga Nidra is like a massage for the central nervous system and the energetic body. Sense & Cleanse each of the 7 main Chakras along the centre of the body. You can find more free full length yoga nidras here: freeyoganidra.ca
In this hour long Yoga Nidra, Ally Boothroyd will guide you through a relaxation of the whole body and visualization for the chakra systems, mainly the seven chakras:
The element of earth (prithvi): the muladhara (root/base chakra),
The element of water (jala): the svadisthana chakra (second/sacral chakra)
The fire (agni): manipura chakra (third/solar plexus chakra)
Air (vayu): the anahata chakra (fourth/heart chakra)
Space/sound (akasha): vishuddha chakra (fifth/throat chakra)
Space/light (akasha): ajna chakra (sixth chakra/mind's eye)
Space/consciousness/spirit (akasha): sahasrara chakra (seventh/crown chakra)
If you'd like to learn more about the chakras, there are many resources, ones that I love at "the subtle body" also this nidra is very inspired by one of my teacher's Anodea Judith and her book "wheels of life"
Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation that helps with insomnia, anxiety, stress, adrenal fatigue, PTSD and so much more. This scan takes you through the whole body, systematically relaxing every part of your being.
Yoga Nidra translates as psychic sleep and is a systematic method of inducing physical, mental and emotional relaxation, while maintaining awareness at deeper levels.
Close your eyes and allow yourself to be guided into deep relaxation.
As described by sparklingyoga: Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep, a state of deep sleep while you remain conscious. It brings an amazing clarity of mind, calmness and stillness. It is one of the deepest forms of meditation leading to supreme quietness and insight. The depth of Yoga Nidra is far beyond just relaxation. During a Yoga Nidra session, you leave your waking state, go through the dreaming state and into deep sleep state, yet remain fully awake.
Scientific research has demonstrated that restorative power of just one hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to 4 hours of healthy sleep. Tension and anxiety melt away with a profound experience of muscular, mental and emotional relaxation. Yoga Nidra is a state of receptivity and creativity, blissfully rejuvenating and restorative practice that will guide you into inner calm and a state of ease and relaxation.

I wake at 2 AM. I have covid, but I am over the worst. I have been listening to your Yoga Nidra sessions, but this one is new. It is a full moon outside. I sat on the porch and watched it rise above the trees before I went to sleep. I feel as though the goddess is speaking to me through your voice, and I treasure every word and image, the opening and understanding that unfolds. The thoughts in my mind gracefully give precedence to your words. I feel invited by your words to a place you already inhabit, and I feel absolutely safe taking this journey with you. I am 74 and I recognize the satisfaction of a deep souls urge to be able to experience this in this way in this lifetime.

I've never had anything to do with yoga or any kind of meditation. I have fibromyalgia, Sjogrens syndrome, and had neck surgery. I have had insomnia so bad that I'm on meds for it. You wouldn't believe how much this has helped me not just fall asleep but in everyday life to just relax. I also have high anxiety with PTSD. Thank you so much❤. Your voice also is so beautiful.

Ally, thank you so much for this.
Yesterday I spoke to my GF and was left with the idea that she is going to break up. We've been together for over 2 years and we talked about kids too.
I went through a lot during this session and I'm very grateful for you guiding me through this. She's coming home tomorrow from her mom's summerhouse and I'm more accepting of my situation now - whatever that may be.
Thank you, I appreciate what you do. A lot more than I can express over text.
    Thank you 💞

To me, yoga nidra is as profound as Zazen. I have been a 20 year practitioner of both but yoga nidra takes me to a place beyond body and mind, while Zazen grounds me in the present and leads to a different kind of samadhi. Your yoga nidras are amazing. Thank you ☸️☯️☦️🕉️♌️

I adored the background chant? Om? That’s totally my thing! It’s given me ideas for my future offerings! Many blessings ❤

I have never done a yoga nidra this long. The experience I had during this yoga nidra practice is difficult to describe. The time seemed expansive and was very surprised when the practice came to a close. I felt of lot of energy throughout my body, particularly in my arms and fingers and my crown chakra. I imagine and could feel a big bright light pouring in through the top of my head and at one point my head felt very cold. I have had this experience of cold at the top of my head on several other occasions. I feel deeply relaxed right now and did not want to come out of the practice!

I received this practice at 4 am, my daughter's cat who is visiting snuggled next to me. The vast cosmos of the body opening up. Sensing the aliveness of the bone marrow. Every part of the body seen from within experienced as energy and love. What a gift. How wonderful at 74 years old to fully experience this. Thank you Ally.

Woah, I feel like I've just had 10 hours sleep 😍
I was tentative about doing such a long yoga nidra in the middle of the day but also excited to see what happened as I thought it would surely be too long for me to sleep through (which often happens) and there were some building work noises to contend with.
Your guidance is so compelling that I was out like a light for almost the whole thing, and felt so deeply cocooned. Now it's on the list of nidras I need to do again asap.
    Thanks Ally.

This has been such an incredible escape for me. I crave the rest being in this mind state brings me. The world feels so noisy-mI just want to be here. Im currently a student of Transformational sleep yoga. Im enjoying it so very much. I thought I was taking this training to learn something new to offer to others but I just keep feeling this intense desire to just be with this for myself before focusing any energy into offering it to others. This is such an exquisite deeply personal journey I am on with this.

The most powerful yet. The love of my life died 15 years ago. Then ten years ago I thought I had met someone else. She was not, nor ever could be a replacement for my first love but we had a bond. We married. But sadly last year we separated.
I realized during the heart chakra part how isolated I have become from love and connection. Yet I know I feel great love and have so much to give.
It is through the opening of all the chakras and the connection to the oneness of the universe that it will come.
In truth it is already here. It never really went anywhere, but maybe I lost my sense of feeling it. This practice is helping me to find it again.
    Thanks so much Ally ❤

I truly don’t know how to fully express what happened during this practice. It felt like so many profound things cleansing, clearing, and awakening. I have never so truly opened to my intuition and third eye in the way I experienced during this practice, not have I ever so intensely been aware of REM occurring. I am so grateful for this practice and it’s beautiful cleanse and reconnection.

Namaste 🙏 thankyou Ally for this guidance. I’d had a headache which is now gone and I also felt that I’d gone somewhere else and time passed very quickly although I was aware I was dreaming. Loving the journey!

This was the first time I experienced a yoga Nidra this long, I loved the focus on the chakras. I could really sense the prana flowing throughout and I also had a lot of imagery surface during the time. Thank you so much!

This yoga nidra is so wonderful! It’s like continuous receiving a precious gift, when practicing it.🙏🏻
But I have problems staying awake, even in the morning or middle of the day. I would prefer a not so soft and mild voice in these longer yoga nidras, it makes me too sleepy. 😴
Many, many thanks for your generosity in sharing all this high quality meditations! 🥰

This meditation was...special. Very special. I felt so many emotions inside of me. At some point I felt like I wanted to escape out of my body and then you said something that made me feel like I was one with the Universe and it felt so deep......Thank you from the heart, Ally. (9.30 pm here in Italy)...❤️

So much to love about this Yoga Nidra Ally. I started it, thinking I will start but will enjoy half now and half another time. Wow, I couldn't move during it - the feelings were so lovely and deeply fascinating. So lovely to travel through all of the Chakras, bathing in that energy. Really beautiful and I can't wait to enjoy it all again. Thank you. Sx

Wow, I was so nervous to do such a long nidra, but the gentle guidance through each chakra made it feel like it went by a lot quicker than it was. Thank you Ally xx

Namaste. I did this today as I could feel a migraine coming on and it’s held it at bay for now. I hope it lasts! I do your nidras everyday now, they’re all wonderful, but needed a super long one today. X

Wow this was the longest nidra I have done - I practiced on the long flight to the UK and it was such a blissful and relaxing experience with my noise cancelling headphones .. great way to reconnect and get that refreshing rest when you are tired and short on sleep. Will try again at home.. thank you Ally🧘‍♀️❤️

Wow no words can describe the experience I just had. And at the end I fell asleep and saw myself in my dreams practicing yoga nidra and then waking up and continuing (while I was still sleeping) 💫
