Average speed cameras/zones are utterly stupid. 5 lanes of traffic all moving at exactly the same speed, traffic sitting side by side, cars, vans and trucks all sitting in one another's blindspots and everyone too scared to accelerate out of an emergency service vehicle's way because they will likely get a speeding ticket resulting in the emergency service vehicle being delayed unnecessarily time and time again.
What you're saying is true but the speed camera in this video aren't average speed cameras. They're variable speed cameras which means they'll snap you for going over the speed limit even when it's been varied (set lower than the national speed limit of the motorway). They're not on every gantry. On the modern smart motorways, you'll find the cameras to the left of the gantry every few gantries.
Officially over here we only have overtaking lanes, so lane 4 is just another over taking lane. Don't forget we drive on the other side so our lane 1 would be considered as the slow lane over here....
@@RayScarr69 It all depends on the car. A normally aspirated engine will only gain a few bhp, a turbocharged engine will and usually gain quite a lot more power, including more power at the top end of the rev range. So if this guys Mondeo is doing 125mph at say 3500rpm and he has gained an extra 50lb of torque at that point and beyond, that extra torque is going to cause the car to accelerate further i.e. to an higher top speed. Also a remap can remove a top speed limiter.
These idiots drivers on the motor way not paying attention to their mirrors or what’s going on around them as they have their car radios or cd’s on full blast and they don’t hear your sirens going as they are probably obviously tone deaf and they move over nearly when you are on their tail.
How long was that drive ?
Everytime this man shouts “No I’m going in there” 😂😂😂😑

7:43 The rare time lane hoggers are actually being useful.
What car have you got, as some of A road overtakes on previous vids makes me think pretty rapid.
It’s a standard Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCi apparently quite a smooth looking motor
@@mattroberts2083 From memory 123 bhp and 207 lb ft. Looks lot quicker than is.
Do you love sirens?
Interesting. Is your lane 4 the fast lane? It would appear to be as there is less traffic. Here in the US, that lane would be our slow lane.

What speed are you doing on the motorway? Doesn't look all that quick, maybe 90mph?
I have top speed of 125 so here was about 100 to 110
@@EmergencydriveUK I guess the camera makes it look a little slower
@@EmergencydriveUK Time for a remap.
@@stiggyness1976 Remaps usually improve acceleration, not top speed.

Do you have to be an advanced driver to drive at speed ? Great vid by the way 👍🇬🇧
Yes you do
Legally you do yes, but everyone knows people speed every day of the week. I can't say I'm innocent of that fact.
Na,just a provisional licence!
