Thats the way to do it. Water on 28 secs from the first pump coming to a halt.

Puts some of the US firefighting videos to shame eh. Especially when it's 10s of minutes before water is pumping on some occasions.

From the time of arrival until water was on the fire 🔥 was 30 seconds. That is amazing!!! 🤩
I wish American firefighters 🚒 could do that. They usually spend 5 minutes or more getting hoses out and putting gear on.

      5 mins minimum 😂😂

They don't use high pressure hose reels that are pre connected to the main pump via a third stage and is already charged with water which allows getting to work quickly, American firefighters tend to use pre connected flaked hose which has to be charged with water and kinks in hose removed before showing water which takes extra time. They use larger diameter hose initially for higher volumes of water.

WOW That's impressive. Yes, under 30 seconds. Our local fire service Kent FRS) couldnt do that. They tend to be like the US and have someone walking around it a few times while it burns before they would think of using any water.

Christ, that FF needs to wear some Breathing Apparatus!

I agree. However I'm guessing their Biggest Priority was putting out the vehicle fire and stopping it from spreading.

@@Cumbria999 Not really an excuse, breathing in that stuff is a one way ticket to cancer or health issues.

@@staffsemergresp That's True. Their Response time was around 3 Minutes from the Intial Call and the fact it took till the 3rd Firefighter for a BA Set to be In the Mix is a slight concern.

How many lenghts of which diameter of hose does a normal pump appliance usually contain?

I think this also demonstrates nicely how limited access we have in most urban pedestrianised/ cycled, / personal car parking / pot plant/ concrete barrier obstructions .
Every planning for private and business premises should allow more useabke space for emergency services.

what i don,t get is why you gotta have another unit turn up and don,t do anything i always thought for car fires it would be just one unit.

    • @Cumbria999

Technically Speaking Yes, 1 Appliance responds Initially. My Guess is that because of the Possibility of exposure to the Mcdonalds Building itself the Second Appliance Made To Scene.

    • @xpoors6641
      @xpoors6641 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Probably the initial caller has said it’s right next to the building so the operator would have mobilised a 2nd appliance just in case

From initial call until units arrive it is never 100% clear information. Better safe than too late except if another emergemcy somewhere which needs resources more urgently.

We always send a second Appliance in case the fire spreads to the building and if it did then you have a whole other ball game . It’s common practice in case the need to ferry water if there’s not a fire hydrant available ie if it was on a motorway where there are no fire hydrants .
