It’s either make your own moves, or you absolutely are going to get traded. Just ask DeMar Derozan, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul Pierce, Diangelo Russell, Zach Lavine, IT, List goes on. They traded Harrison Barnes while he was in the middle of a game, so if the players wanna make they own moves for once, so be it.

He did in fact say the Pistons aren't worthy champions after game three. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF HE HAD SAID THAT ABOUT YOURRRRRR TEAM AND YOUUUUU??? YOU ARE CHAMPIONS AND YOU HAVE SOMEONE HERE WHO HADN'T WON A TITLE AT THAT TIME BASICALLY TRASH YOUR TEAM AND THE CITY YOU REPRESENT??? Funny how in the 3 consecutive years prior, every time the Pistons beat the Bulls, MJ made sure to shake every Pistons hand, it was even replayed in the doc. Then Mike said, "no matter how bad it hurts, you shake hands because that's sportsmanship and its about respect". That's the crux of the issue with MJ. I respected you in defeat, you didn't respect me in your defeat. So for MJ to shake Zeke hand 3 straight years when he was getting smacked, and the one time MJ wins, Zeke does not return the same respect, I totally get where MJ is coming from...Zeke is a brat who can dish it, but can't take it. There's a word for cats like that where I'm from...it starts with "p" it ends with "y" and is another word for cat.

The comments that Jordan and the Bulls made about the Pistons prior to game 4 are out there for everyone to read. They were disrespectful in ascending to the thrown, and those comments obviously struck the Pistons in the wrong way. If you aren't going to show respect in victory, then why should the other team show respect in defeat? There is no walk off if Jordan and the Bulls don't make the comments they made.

1990 game 7 shows you that it takes a lot more than "talent" or being "the best team" to win it all. That game 7 loss changed the NBA forever and not just for the Bulls. It normalized extensive offseason training. The Bulls managed to win 6 because they were substantially tougher than everyone else. Sports becomes a mental game when you reach championship rounds. The bulls as a team were "soft" and "floppers" in the eyes of the Pistons and many other teams during that era and they had to learn to not complain or show any signs of weakness. The best team does NOT always win in a series where the games go into crunch time, the teams that execute best in the clutch do. Theres a reason why so many other superteams with loaded rosters have not been able to repeat(Spurs) let alone three peat. A lot of these teams simply put fizzle out mentally and physically after a certain amount of time.

I also heard a story about his nephew having a Jordan jersey, speaking of Jordan as the best, and that pissing Isiah off. Not to mention, Thomas was from Chicago and both players were writing their own pages of Chicago legend! There was a lot there to spark a lava hot rivalry! And, Isiah could also hide behind the tactics of those days, as well! The Jordan rules weren't anything different than how they played back then. They were the Jordan rules possibly because they were rough, Jordan could not win, and he was the future of the NBA! But, they were allowed to topple you to stop you from scoring a layup or dunk, for example. The Bulls not being able to win, the Pistons/Isiah not bowing to Jordan(as other teams had), and maybe a perceived freeze-out All-star game drove Jordan nuts!

MJ's issue was that when they lost those straight years to Detroit during playoffs, he took it like a man- shook their hands, tip their hats off to the better team. When it was time for the Bulls to sweep the Pistons, they walked out. Is walking out showing respect? No. But, yeah, IT justifies it by saying Boston did it to them. Duh.
Why is that narrative that MJ blocked off IT from the Dream Team still there? His Pistons teammate SALLEY actually said it was NOT true. It was Magic and to some extent Bird, who had a hand in IT's exclusion. Salley also said that IT's beef started when his nephew was wearing MJ's jersey. Guess that and them suffering a sweep makes it hard to get over 30+ years later huh? LOL.

Those were different times, I remember the Bad Boys Pistons, they were a blue-collar type of team. They fought hard for every position, and they would play a lot of games in the 90s. They had a lot of pride, and they hated to lose. Today players on opposing teams are best friends, and they leave the competition on the floor for 48 minutes, and then hug it out after the game is over. Totally different mentality now than it was in the 80s and 90s. Players of this generation are friends long before they come to the NBA with the AAU Games as well as the McDonald's All-American Games.
