There's so many fighting games out there.
Street fighter, Smash bros, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Guilty Gear, Injustice. But my personal favourite fighting game is Rivals of Aether. And I'm clearly not alone, it's small in comparison to some of the giants I just mentioned, but it still has a bustling pro scene, even under the restrictions we've seen ourselves in over the last year or so.
Now I know why I like rivals so much, but nobody really cares about that, do they? I wanna know why THESE guys like rivals, the pro players. The top 1%.

I keep forgetting how small this channel is considering the quality of content and the frequent releases. It's really cool that the pros took the time to talk to someone with ~1k subscribers.
Honestly, I was on the fence since your "Problem with Heavys" video, but since the community seems this cool you made me want to take the plunge into this game.
Yeah the community is awesome, and the game is a ton of fun. You'd be surprised how far you can get by just asking people though, the worst that can happen is they say no, lol. But thanks, hopefully I wont be a small channel for long :D

I'm a year late to this but yea, it's the community. I effectively am retired yet I enjoy the community so much that I still run the local scene, regionals and majors included.

@@xaro9542 Oh right, that's awesome! It's quite weird to me that my Heavies video is my most viewed video. Because in hindsight, it's pretty bad. But people seemed to like it so I guess it must have something to it right

this video is a year old but as a plat fighter historian (weirdo online) I wanna point out that smash did not invent the plat fighter genre, the outerfoxies did and going by the development dates of smash 64 you can tell that sakurai just kinda meshed the idea of the outerfoxies w a bunch of KoF mechanics and a ring out system
