No, in Iliad Achilles loved and respected Patroclus, Ajax, Odysseus and Diomedes. He also loved his father who was a Greek king and his mother. All these people were Greek and he loved his country. The only man he didnt like was Agamemnon who ruled the greek army. As far as the trojans , Hector who was falsely called honorable run away scared when Diomedes the second best Greek warrior wounded him. Also Paris was a coward.

The flexibility with the sword makes this movie unique..... I thought the fight scene was a stunt double but he did it by himself.... Best work from him in his career

Achilles was such a dominating fighter that he lack one great virtues. “Restraint.” In the end, someone did find out he did have a weakness. That’s why they named it Achilles.
Beg to differ. His fight with the elder son of Troy, was a fierce one. Question is, was he holding back to honor the fight? Or was the brother really good enough to hold against Achilles for that long? He was born to fight and kill, therefore he learned to do it quickly and efficiently without wasting time or movement. Restraint can be shown in many ways. A prolonged fight, when you know you can best your opponent, could be seen as restraint. He wanted vengeance, not just to kill. He wanted him to suffer for killing his student. So he took his time. Prolonged the fight to drain the older brother until he, literally, couldn't defend anymore again Achilles. How many did Achilles kill before that one fight? Countless. Cause noone could come close enough to actually getting that killing blow. None had the skill, none had the mentality or spirit to truly best him. I'm willing to bet that he could've ended Hector, the elder brother, far more quickly than he did.
Maybe he doesn’t live by YOUR idea of proper virtues. Maybe he created the virtues he wanted and chose to live by.

I don’t agree with this at all. His heel was his weakness and the arrow was guided by Apollo. Achilles, in terms of pure technique and fight IQ is essentially unmatched in Greek Myth.
No matter how great you are, if the records of your deeds and existence cease to exist, so does your memory. There are millions of humans who have done great things but have been lost to time. No one's name lives for eternity. Once a cataclysm happens to our world (again), the only thing left will be that written in stone.

I hate that such a great warrior was killed by a coward, with an arrow, standing so far away. Paris stole Helen and couldn't even fight for her and that's the guy that killed Achilles.

Agamemnon dies as soon as he returns home tho. Menelaos has a more boring odyssey trying to return and then does return until he dies one day. Not exciting.

Crazy how advanced the Greeks were supposed to be for that time period. Considering that this story is dated to be written in 6 or 7 centuries BC an it took place 400 years before it was written that’s about 9,000 bc and they already knew how to navigate the sea and had all those established civilizations with ships cities with government about 12,999 yrs ago it’s mind blowing to me
