Not just a fight to be remember for Brat Pitt, but in fact it's a fight worth remembered and to be known as one of the greatest fight scene in Hollywood history. Yea''... It is. 😎
What makes it greater is that Hector is an awesome man and everything he does is right and has higher morales than Achilles. Not just a brainless bad guy that the main character fights like in most other films.
crazy that brad pitt hated his performance in this movie.... it is one of the great performances in epic movie history and his portrayal of achillies has made it one of my favourite films in history.
Eric Bana doesn't get enough praise for this role. Hector doesn't get enough praise for being the only man in this whole story who isn't consumed by their own hubris.
When this game out…. I loved Gladiator and so excited to see Troy….. I didn’t buy Brad Pitt’s character at first, it took me a bit, but by the end of the movie I was all in…. Fantastic role.
The interesting part about Hectors code of honor is that Achilles does not honor the gods, does not have a woman to love and does not feel any obligation to fight for country, only his own glory.
"All my life I lived by a code, honor the God's, love your woman and defend your country." ~Hector prince of Troy ~ Your right, Achilles has none of them!

Well, I wish they'd only do him justice. Christian homophobia ruined this, patrocolus and him were lovers and this made the battle with Hector that much fiercer.
@@TheIfifi Nice ragebait. Patroclus was raised by Peleus as a brother to Achilles after he killed another kid in his homeland Locris accidentally and had to be exiled, finding refuge in Pelion. Stop projecting your perversions on history.
@@t3rm1nat0rxii2 Wow. You're calling me a pervert whilst accusing me of ragebait? The hipocracy is heavy here... And I'm not even gay. You sound quite like a homophobe, which doesn't bear arguing with but I'll entertain you regardless, hopefully otheres can read this and learn. Homosexuality is prelevant in every social species(including humans, obviously) on the planet and absolutely not unnatural at all. It's even explained away evolutionary quite easily. People like Plato, argued Achilles and Patrocolus were lovers I'm going to take his word over yours, no offense. The fact that they were raised together.... Honestly only increases the chances they might get together. "As brothers" just sounds like an old phrase for "They were roomates." Which, can't belive you're stepping into that one... Mycenaean culture was pretty open about homosexuality as well and men being lovers was quite normal in all Greek and later Roman society. I'm not a pervert, I'm infact as vanilla as it comes, straight white male man. So if you could just keep your homophobic views to yourself and respect other people, that'd be great... The irony that you're accusing me of re-writing history when in fact I'm only course correcting for 2000 years of homophobia, is stunning.
The Ancient City of Troy is located in Çanakkale, Turkiye. Come and see this wonderful place. Additionally, the Trojan Horse used in the movie was gifted to Çanakkale. The edit is great.
Alexander the Great visited the site of Ancient Troy in 334 B.C., as he embarked on his campaign against the Persian Empire, leading a unified Greek Army (Hellenic League). The visit to Troy held both personal and strategic significance for Alexander. On one hand, it fulfilled his long-held desire to pay tribute to his hero Achilles and connect with the glorious past of Greek mythology. On the other hand, the visit served as a powerful symbolic gesture that showcased his intention to unite the Greek world under his rule and carry on the legacy of the legendary heroes. Upon reaching the Tomb of Achilles, Alexander took a moment to pay his respects and acknowledge the greatness of the legendary warrior. Then, Alexander poured oil over the tomb, a customary practice in ancient Greek funerary rituals, symbolizing purification and sanctification. He also placed garlands of flowers and foliage on the tomb, signifying honor and respect for the deceased. Next, Alexander and Hephaestion sacrificed animals, likely horses, to honor the spirits of Achilles and Patroclus. This ritual was meant to appease the souls of the dead and seek their favor. Finally, Alexander is believed to have organized athletic games at the site, following the ancient Greek tradition of hosting such competitions in memory of deceased heroes. By paying homage to Achilles, Alexander was reinforcing his connection to the heroic past and legitimizing his claim to lead the Greek world. After Troy and his first victory at the battle of the Granicus, while leading a unified Greek Army (Hellenic League) to avenge the Persian invasions in Greece 150 years prior, Alexander the Great sent 300 suits of full Persian armour (to honor the legendary last stand of the 300 Spartans in Thermopylae) to Athens, as a votive offering to Goddess Athena, to be hung on the Acropolis. He ordered an inscription to be fixed over them; “Alexander, son of Philip and all the Greeks, present this offering from the spoils taken from the barbarians inhabiting Asia". A statue group, known as the Granicus Monument, was erected by Alexander in the sanctuary of Zeus at Dion. This consisted of bronze statues by Lysippus, of Alexander with twenty-five of his companions who had died in the initial cavalry charge, all on horseback. Alexander the Great is a sacred, immortal, legendary figure for us Greeks. Mostly for uniting all Greek City States and Kingdoms and spreading the unique Hellenic culture to the edges of the world. The rightful descendant of Achilles. Eternal Hellas 🔥🇬🇷
Even though Brad Pitt really hated working on Troy, that doesn't take away that he gave an amazing performance. To me, he *is* the best actor that's ever-played Achilles.

The legendaries of Greeks conquering Troy and Island Tyre are always awesome. Besides, I love the way they make this movie because everyone knows that Troy will fall in the end and that the Greeks should be viewed more to be protagonists. It's just the way I see 😅 into the movie. In reality, the Trojans have the right to defend themselves,.. but it's horrible to take somebody's wife away 😂and that's why I don't have much regret of their fall 😂😅

This distills Achilles' choice - go to war, die, but be remembered forever - or stay home, have a comfortable life, and be forgotten. It would seem that the character Achilles believed in the idea that everyone dies twice: the first time on the day that they day, and the final time when someone says their name for the last time.
