Thank you very much for this video about my city, this is wonderful with all the drone images, so beautiful, you make my city look certainly really beautiful... it is beautiful but you make it even more special. When my father (Antonio) was young he would have loved to be able to take such incredible shots from the air around Hercules Tower, he loved that monument so much!
I miss some closer shots of the most famous part of Coruña, you show it briefly when you show la Dársena (you call it the port, but it is not the port) but those little glass windows in those white buildings are what we consider the most symbolic view of our city, we call them "Las Galerías":
You certainly made a great work and a great trip here in our land, you are very welcome to come again and enjoy this place, it was called "The city where no one is a foreigner"

Beautiful comment thank you for much. Since I shot this video I came back for a second time. And I will certainly come again. Make sure to subscribe and get notified when I post new shots including drone shots of San Pedro Mountain park. I think I know which windows you talking about but I am going to watch again. Thank you so much for the comment. These kind of comments give me motivation to keep going. Please feel free to share.

Hey I'm from Rome, I love Coruña and I liked your video and drone images. I was there at least 8 times. Good quality and nice drone images...BUT...Hey!! Nobody took you to the "ciudad vieja" ( the REAL old city ), the medieval district close to Maria pita square!! I was expecting for all video that you show that part of the city. That is really elegant and old. With churches and squares that made the history of the city!! What a pity. Anyway when u will be back there don't miss a visit there pls! And complete your wonderful video. So it will be perfect !! Ciao !!

@@tittimalaki Hi Thank you. My friend. I just visited Rome before the Corona started. Love this city and the food.
The Atlantic coast is my favorite region in Spain. Fantastic.
I did visit the old city. Check out the timestamp in the description (item number 5 in the video, time stamp 07:07). Is that not the old city? or you mean something else? would like to know.
Also, thank you for all the kind words. If you like my work it would be helpful if you can share on social networks. The more subscribers I have the more I can make cool videos like this, which is what I love to do!!!

What else is to be worth visiting in the area within say one hour drive of A Coruña? Any interesting quaint villages or places locals consider beautiful and not discovered by mass tourism?

I have never heard the "Hercules fell in love with a woman so he build her a city" story and my mother is from there, we still have family in and around Coruna yet nobody ever even mentioned anything like that.
The most common accepted myth is that Hercules killed Geryon and then build a tower (Torre de Hercules) on top of his bones, hence the skull and bones underneath the tower in the coat of arms.
The name A Coruna is highly debatable as nobody can agree on what the origins are.

    • @NativeExplorer
      @NativeExplorer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Well, all the stories about Hercules I learned from the tower of Hercules. The story about the woman named Coruña is actually on their fact sheet leaflet that they give to the visitors of the tower.

@@NativeExplorer Hopefully by next year the virus situation has settled down and I can visit this beautiful city again. I'll make it a mission to actually go back into the tower again.
I was there last year but didn't bother to go inside this time around.
Thanks for the different theory, I'll keep my eye out for that flyer.

the Hercules tower was difficult to climb but the views are so worth it :) I wish we had more time there when we cruised there as you showed a lot of lovely places. Especially the Santiago de Compostela city, looks so cool. I would love to see it one day.

Grear video...slight issue, la Playa del Matadero is named that because the slaughterhouse was located in its vicinity...nothing to do with the waves which in fact DO have a nasty reputation in that area.

@@NativeExplorer Most people speaking Spanish say simply "Coruña"...Paradoxically "La Coruña" is a sort of Galicianism in Spanish...It is common in the Galician-Portuguese linguistic realm to have a definite article before some name places (o Porto, o Porriño, As Neves etc) whereas in Spanish barely occur and when it happens it is followed by "...de" eg. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, La Palma del Condado etc)...In fact there's another place called "Coruña del Conde" in Burgos (Castille), instead of "La Coruña del Conde"...
