*Rule error - in the second to last turn I discarded a flare from the Natural that would have prevented him moving and helping to attack* 0:00 - Introduction 0:37 - Game Overview 1:23 - Set-Up and Play 15:32 - Review
I snagged a copy as soon as I saw this. I learned my lesson from when SU&SD reviewed Lok, and 3 hours later, they had sold out. These indie publishers often don’t have the capacity to deal with a large influx of orders.
2nd printing now available at Coincidence games. $12 plus shipping. 2nd printing now includes a 4 strength Depot card which makes the game harder. It is optional to add into the game but if added, must be placed at the beginning of the game.
Oh that's great to hear! I got to play some games with a draft rule for the depot and it did a great job making the game just tough enough to be tense each play.
Looks like a really neat game, Just also a bit to ''easy'' and also maybe to random with the threats. Like, I can imagine if you draw like 3 machine guns and get a unlucky mortar hit that the game might be really tough to come back from. I feel like this game could work really well with an extended threat deck that comes in waves. A bit like how in the Valiant defense series how with each wave the enemies become more & also stronger. Though that would require new cards to be made etc... Might still get it considering the price & box size the game actually has.
Just to see if I have the rules right, at 13:24, could The Natural move down left to assist The Athlete and The Leader in killing the Machine Gun? And then The Mouse move up left to kill the Infantry?
The game costs 10 bucks. The shipping however is 15 bucks outside of the USA & Canada Anyone who lives in North America interested in getting the game, it is still available direct from the publishers Coincidence Games. Thanks Mike. Cute little solo game I might have bought if shipping wasn't 1.5 times the cost of the game! lol
Currently you can only get the PNP files from Coincidence Games, I believe. The physical print run is sold out. But hopefully they will do another run at some point!
So I played the game, and it's fun, but you're right--it's too easy. One way I found to increase the difficulty is to give mortars and/or flares "surge" (to use Arkham Horror parlance). That way, you'll see more enemies each turn. Makes for a more intense game.

Hopefully this gets them more attention!

Zack Barth is an excellent game designer.

13:41 could you have moved the Natural down left and then the Mouse up left and gotten both the machine gun and the infantry?
I think you are right!

Ha! Just saw this after I posted the same question. I think that has to be right.
yes, I believe you are right!
Fantastic graphic design.
BTW, in the last turn The Leader has attacked twice.
Good catch!
What if you needed to exceed the enemy value instead of match it? Would that increase difficulty to a decent level?
That would certainly ramp it up, but perhaps too much 😅

Yeah, that kind of thing is tough especially for these tiny games!
Sold out now 😢
Where it is possible to purchase it?

Oh that’s a pretty straightforward way to do it!
