love your videos and everything you stand for please keep doing what you do you have helped me and i hope others find the help they need from your videos.
I bought a McFarland marine as the first thing to paint in almost 20 years it was exactly what i needed to get me back into it and let me try out and understand where both paints and techniques have changed
If you enjoyed painting larger scale I really recommend looking into other scales too. Check out companies like Michigan toy soldier (USA) or El Greco for lots of options
Those Macfarlane Marines seem like fun. I'll have to look into acquiring one at some point, because it looks like it'll be a lovely ground to do all sorts of things with it.
One thing I tell people I know and on some discords I am on. The best thing I ever done for my mini painting was painting bigger things like busts, you get to pratice different ways of painting on a bigger piece meaning its easier!! much easier more wiggle room when you mess up. i dont this for wet blending and was able to do it better and learned more than I ever did painting on small minis.
Nice work James! The blue on the McFarlane is gorgeous. As for the new Epic scale, wouldn't contrast type paints over a grisaille highlight or zenithal work great? Been meaning to try it, buuuut, not gotten around to it. As for the 2TC paints, I do find the paints interesting and I've heard good things about them. But I honestly can't justify paying almost twice the price of a Vallejo bottle, for less paint. $5.5 compared to $3 for the vallejo.
Thanks, yeh I think a slap chop type thing would work, and sure I can refine what I did, as to the TTC they single price is an issue for sure, over here they are £3.50 so about on par, but Vallejo are still cheaper. So far I would say they are as good as anything I have tried outside of UltraAcryl/ Proacryl and Kimera. So if that’s what your LGS has I wouldn’t hesitate to grab them.
@@RisingApe Yeah if my FLGS had them I'd pick up 1-2 just to try them out. (Read good things about the white) Sadly it doesn't, so have to order them. Which put the cost around £15/each if my order doesn't reach the free shipping limit.
Oh as far as the mini you done, looks like things were thinned down to much and this can happen when using an air brush, it happened to me a while ago (didnt paint for a while) and this kept happening so I thinned down less and used airbrush thinner over water or acrylic thinner and has been fine ever since :-)
@@RisingApe I have a set, but I have 24/7 headaches for over 6 years and those make it worse. I use Magnification LED lights, and they work OK, but the working distance is not great, it ends up being in my way more often than not, lol.
Fun video, and yeh I agree that everyone should try and paint a 1/12 scale marine
Thanks 🙏
Great video! The McFarland Space Marines always seem fun to paint.
Two thin coats is great the metalics are also really smooth too it's insane
Yeh, really enjoying them so far, I haven’t used the metallics yet
It's discontinued, but if you can find one the bonus scale to add to this range would be the 54mm Inquisitor Space Marine!
Yeh I used to play that back in the day.. loved it. I never had Artemis though
The winged skull crest is known as the Imperialis
Excellent thanks

Thank you, that means a lot.

Honestly I had so much fun painting it, hope that came across
Hahaha yes!!! Someone else who uses sunset shade for the gold!!! Guys at the shop calling me weird for using that instead of brown.
Yeh Casandora is the best colour for gold. I tend to like adding saturated colours back in at the end
I have had some epic scale tyranids in a box for years.... tempted to paint the them up and make a mini diorama!
Do it I would love to see that
Nice! I had never considered doing the larger scale bigature but I’ll get one and give it a go!
Cool, tag me in photos when you post them

Couldn’t agree more
I like 1/18 joytoy's warhammer spacemarine
I have only heard great things about them
Great Video. Any link for the glasses with light ... asking for a frind ... Not me ... definitely Not me
Haha no worries I have old “friends” too amzn.to/3rPDGzI

@@Himle_ yeh agreed, thats out of reach, honestly most brands are pretty good these days.

Aye, I agree that would usually do it, but I didn’t thin the high flow which is what was weird? Anyway the other version looked fine so it’s all good
ngl, i'd buy one of the Legion Imperialis box sets just for the lil titan 😅
Yeh it is cool right
I suppose you could also add Joytoy and Bandai scales into the mix.
Yup, one day
I want a 1/100 scale space marine, because I have a gunpla problem
Haha 😛
Great video, but with my eyesight 32mm scale is hard enough so no way for epic scale!!
I do feel you, the magnification glasses do help though

Did you new stock old Epic or eastern European recasts?
I used and old set
Nice
Thanks
Do everyone paint only spacemarines???
Absolutely not, check out my other videos
Please tell me there is a 195cm scale one in your dining room
You’ll see soon, the thumb says mm though… you made me panic 😱
@@RisingApe I was hoping for a just short of life size 😝
Why do we not play huge scale 40k? Do you think that wargame tables are not big enough as is?
Haha, I was of course joking it’s expensive enough already
