A little J-Rock/metal? You can spend the next 12 mos watching and never run out of quality content. Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie + others are immensly talented bands with deeper catalogs - expecially Band-Maid and Lovebites. You're missing out without a deep dive,

Nice reaction. Other than WE LOVE SWEETS, my favorite Hanabie's songs are "Otaku Lovely Densetsu" and "Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now". I also recommend PassCode - "GROUNDSWELL". They are Japanese Kawaii Metal/Electronicore girl group and the music style is similar to Babymetal(3 vocals and 1 screamer with backing band).

"We love sweets", "OTAKU Lovely Densetsu", "REIWA Dating Apps generation": Hanabie Metal is _insane_ . Absolutely addictive. And like all excellent Metal bands, they are _even better_ *live* . Lovebites, Nemophila, Hanabie: J-Metal is a rabbit hole full of excellence. They studied the best, received their Metal degreees, and now pass on to the world.

Hanabie is more like an all female, younger Maximum the Hormone. Broken by the Scream is more like Babymetal on steroids. But you aren't wrong.

    Welcome to _Harajukucore!_ ❄🌸
Hanabie (Ha-na-be-eh) refer to their distinctive sound as Harajukucore, a mix of metal, punk, electronic, pop, rap and even traditional Japanese instruments. Their name comes from the Harajuku district, which is famous for its colorful, eclectic street fashion. You can definitely see and hear those influences in the video.
Hanabie are Matsuri - guitar, vocals, compositions. Yukina - clean and harsh vocals. Hettsu - bass and vocals. Chika - drums.
Funny you that mentioned *Crystal Lake*, because Gaku Taura, their drummer, produced this song and Hanabie's first album. He even filled in as a support drummer for their live shows.
Here's a few song recommendations for you - 'Otaku Lovely Densetsu', 'Be the GAL - early summer ver.', 'NEET GAME', 'Envy', 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation', 'Tousou' (run away).
If you want to hear Chika explain to an audience how to pronounce their name, here's the link - th-cam.com/video/jrJUgkxIlUo/w-d-xo.html

Speaking of Japanese metalcore bands with low female vocals that have a lot of fun.
Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday MV XD
Keep up with the Hanabie though. Lots you could do next. Be The Gal, Tousou, Pardon Me I have To Go Now, Otaku Lovely Densetsu, all bangers.

Japanese metalcore is just normal metalcore made in Japan, much like J-rock is normal rock made in Japan. Whether the band sings in Japanese doesn't matter. Most JP bands in metal(core) sing in English because the scene in Japan is limited, so they try to make their music more accessible to international audiences.
Hanabie don't do that, but then again they don't really do anything resembling what others do, and their sound is very unique (hence why people came up with this Harajukucore genre to describe them and it stuck). This band has picked the road less travelled a long time ago and at this point their composer (Matsuri/blue hair in this video) seems to be completely lost in her own head, but against all odds keeps making some of the best heavy music of the current decade.
And I mean consistently so - there're no bad or mediocre Hanabie songs - but there are also hardly two songs that sound the same, so it will take you a few more to actually get wth is Harajukucore all about. But even if you don't end up loving it the way people like me do, I can still guarantee you it's gonna be hell of a trip ^^

So this might be a useful Japanese rock / metal, mostly female, rabbit hole approach. That's not everyone, but it's some of the best.

@@taihavard Singer Rei Kuromiya was in Ladybaby and BRATS, but the song Spiderweb has very little in common with Ladybaby. If you haven't heard the song yet, you should definitely do so. In our opinion, Spiderweb is a masterpiece that has received far too little attention.
