Fun Fact: during the breakdown near the end, when Kevin is bringing the sparking wires together, you'll hear the words "Are you ready? Are you ready?" screamed in a call-and-response. The first one is Kevin, but the second one, the deeper growl, is Momo from BABYMETAL (the young lady on the left)! She also growls "Everybody" twice with Kevin at the end. Momo (Momoko Okazaki, aka "Momometal") is the newest member of BABYMETAL, just becoming a permanent member in 2023. BABYMETAL is one of the most unique acts in music today - a blend of J-pop vocals and dance choreography back by heavy metal instrumentation. BABYMETAL usually goes quite a bit heavier than this, with their backing band playing every genre of metal from heavy EDM (like this song) to thrash metal, power metal, progressive metal, and even death metal, and also sometimes incorporates world music styles like Indian, Celtic and Latin-American musical elements. While most of their songs are in Japanese, they've lately been incorporating a lot of English lyrics as well.

Great first reaction. These are two unique bands - and two of the best. As for who had the idea for them to collaborate - I suspect that must have been BABYMETAL's producer Kobametal (or maybe it was the girls idea and Koba just made it happen ... I am guessing of course).
BABYMETAL were touring the US with Dethklok last year and on one of their days off they went to see Electric Callboy playing in Boston - they met them back stage and it seems that was where the idea of the collaboration began.
This song is more Electric Callboy's style overall, but it is a straight 50:50 collaboration.
You like to go in blind without much research, so I won't go into their history, who they all are and so on (we can answer questions if you have them of course).
Go in blind with an early BABYMETAL song and performance (from December 2013) to see what they are like by themselves try 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 (the lead singer's 16th birthday celebration concert) which you can find posted by abr metal.
For something more recent but also a good fun song try 'Metali' featuring Tom Morello, official live.
It was a 50/50 split between EC, and BM

Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Electric Callboy (formerly known as Eskimo Callboy, but they changed it because they realised, that the word Eskimo is a slur term and an insult for the Inuit people)
EC are a metalcore (more a partycore band nowadays) Band from Germany (from the city of Castrop-Rauxel in the Ruhr Area) and they are around for more than 10 years with 6 albums in general. The latest one Tekkno jumped to the first place in the german billboard charts after they released it in 2022. Hypa Hypa was released in the peak of the Corona pandemic mainly to cheer us up and also to introduce Nico as their new clean vocalist (replacing the old singer Sushi). So mainly EC don't take themself very serious but they take their music and the business very serious and work hard to create awesome music. Most of their songs are goofy and funny, but they also have extremly good dead serious songs like Crystals, The Scene or Best day (all three with Sushi on the mic) or with Nico Hate/ Love, Mindreader, Neon or Parasite.
If you are new to EC I recommend Hypa Hypa (which started all the fuzz - they had also a collab with several other bands who copied Hypa Hypa in their own style i recommend We butter the bread with butter and also the Saltatio Mortis Version), Pump it, We got the moves, Spaceman, Everytime we touch and many more.
They are produciong 90% of their music videos by themself and with Schillobros which are Pascal Schillo (one of the EC guitarists) and his brother.
After it came to their ears, that people like to listen to EC in the Gym they released Pump It to create the ultimate Gym Hymn.
Wow, what a way to discover both bands! Fans of each band are sky high over how good this turned out. You should definitely check out each band separately, they both have tons of great stuff posted and they are fun as hell. Babymetal, the queens of "Kawaii Metal" ("cute metal") and EC, the kings of silly metal. Both groups are actually phenomenal musicians, as you will see the more you watch.
Yes, the two guys and the band behind them are Electric Callboy. Go check out the completely normal videos for We Got the Moves, Tekkno Train, and Everytime We Touch. Everytime We Touch is a cover but the other two are original material, all EC, no guests. You're right, those two guys, Kevin and Nico, really are the greatest. So funny, so talented, absolutely original.

While I don't think there is a way to be ready for an Electric Callboy video, especially the first introduction to them, this one is even more surreal than average. It's always nice to see more reactors getting into this amazing group, they're a global phenomenon from Japan and trust me you have seen nothing yet. They just announced a nee US Tour in November so don't miss out the chance to see them live.
Here's a brief info about this amazing group:
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
They are:
*SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year.
-YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018.
None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said.
There's no other group like them around and teaming up with this group from Germany just elevated them even higher.
If you like Jpop and edm elements then you're gonna find a lot of cool songs blended with heavy metal in their latest album "The Other One" released last year. Songs like Divine Attack - Shingeki, METALIZM, Time Wave and Light and Darkness among other great songs as well tracks and live performance from early era will make you bounce and rock with this insane group.
Last weekend of May they did the live premiere of this song in Japan at FOX_FEST (a festival held by BM) and everyone went wild with this collab.
The girl in the middle is the lead singer SuMetal and she actually dance less than the other girls (MoaMetal and MomoMetal) because she sings most of the time but regardless she can dance and sing and you won't even notice she's out of breath.
About this song:
This was filmed in Germany and the concept of the MV is they're breaking boundaries with the genres and they don't care about corporation decisions, the office with the suits workers and the Japanese boss kinda represent that.
The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference.
The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus but it's probably used way back before in more songs.
The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with some guitar elements.
The moment when they're breaking the wall is another homage to Aerosmith x Run DMC - Walk This Way MV, symbolism of breaking the boundaries with the music genres like I already said.
Also one of the singers is holding up the cable with electricity during the breakdown is a reference to "The Cable Guy" movie.
Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that in the MV, although fans spotted in the live version, so it was her after all.
Love the euro dance and trance elements mixed with metal, they also did it with Time Wave, one of my favorite BM song from latest album The Other One.
There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more.
Fun fact: EC said in a reactor comment and later at their own reaction video that they did the bursting the walls scene in one shot, there will be a bts so we're waiting for more.
The crew had to put all those disco ball on the celling manually just for this song.

That was a fun reaction! I can't say much about Electric Callboy, because I don't know much. They are obviously a very fun band, but I'll leave that to others with more knowledge. But I can say a lot about BABYMETAL, and if you like the clean, angelic vocals over heavy music, you have to check out some more of their music! They are fusing various sub-grenres of Metal with all sorts of non-Metal genres, and it's always very fun and entertaining. Their live shows are insane! Don't miss out!

@@Lakin3 I guess to get the fun of "Hurrikan" it's necessary to know that "Pump It" was rejected by the German ESC jury because for them the song was not radio friendly enough and that the first part of "Hurrikan" matches the bad taste of the jury members. So the song is a friendly "f*ck you" message to the jury members.

I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍

I just wanted to give some insight on Babymetal!! they are a Japanese Kawaii (Cute) Metal band consisting of Lead singer Su-Metal, Scream and Dance is Moametal and Momometal. theyve been around since 2010 when the girls were just barley teenagers.
Fun Fact Momo (Usually on the Right side of Su) officially joined the band in 2023, She screams the second "ARE YOU READY" in the breakdown

They are massive, I urge you to check out three live shows to start, these are awesome as is most of their stuff. But these are recent.. monochrome live at pia, road of resistance live at pia, and metal kingdom, I guarantee you will be in awe at tge stage, show and audience. I doubt if you ever seen anything like it. After those 3 everything else is so varied in genre mix, and equally as awesome live 😊
