      Well I had looked at FastBrakes Stoptech kit and the ASR AP kit. Both where very cost prohibitive for me being on a tight budget so where ruled out. I then looked at the Acura TL 4 pistons but a few people and things turned me off of them. From a size and bang for buck this setup I have put together is hard to beat. Sorry I do not know much about Wilwood kits. Thanks for the positive feedback on the content, I’m having fun making it and sharing.

      I still have 4x100 rear, my car runs 17x10 front and 17x8 rear so I’ll never be rotating the wheels and tires front to rear anyways. Generally to do 5x114.3 rear you need ITR stuff.

    Would these brembo calipers work well with the base model mini cooper rotors that a lot of people commonly use as a big break upgrade for civic/integras? I believe those rotors are 280mm which is ~11" and are 4x100

    • @FFAttack
      @FFAttack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No they won’t, the Callipers is made for a much larger sweep. Stock the Genesis runs 13” rotors so putting a 11” rotor in them will not work. This setup I did runs a 12.5” rotor if I remember correctly. In the video I compare them to my TypeR rotors that are the same size as the mini ones.

      They had to machine a small amount off the cantering ring of the hub. I also could have had that taken off the rotor instead but wanted to make it so I could get a replacement rotor anywhere and just swap it on if I had a failure on track.

    In your honest opinion how well do these perform once they get hot? I also have a k swap ek civic with the Porsche calipers on my four lug set up but I want to go 5 lug to run 17inch wheels. Thinking about using the crv knuckle for the front. Trying to determine what front brake set up to go with, seen the TL set up, genesis set up, or maybe go with fast brakes on a custom set up but that’s easy 2k dollars.

    • @FFAttack
      @FFAttack  ปีที่แล้ว

      The track I use to drive on was known for being a brake killer, lots of slow corners with little straights so no time to really cool the brakes in a lap. These handled it just fine. Last year I removed the dust seals on the pistons as they like to catch fire. I just drop a drip of brake fluid on each piston to keep the seals fresh. I have run these for a 45min session in 32c weather and not had brake fade. I do have corvette brake ducts (have a DIY on them). So I have a steady flow of cool air. Pads are really important too, the G-Loc R16’s take all I can toss at them. Now that I run on less brake abusing track I’m not worried about this setup handling heat at all.

    Ok all the searches I've keep coming back with the CRV hub diameter of 64.1. What hub do you have at 70.1? I'm so confused. Because if the CRV is 64.1 and the Rouge rotor is 68 then you shouldn't have to machine. I'm only asking because I don't have too many machine shops in my area willing to do this.

    • @FFAttack

      The wheel Center boar maybe that but the part of the hub the rotor centres on needs to be same as the rotor.

      If ain't wrong the crv hubs are 71.X like the jdm itr hub, the thing i think it works is to put the ep3 CTR or the rsx-s (i think are the same) hubs wich fit in that spindle because they have 36mm shaft but the center is also 64.X like regular 6gen civics integras etc, someone correct me if im wrong but recent information i read goes in that direction

    • @FFAttack

    • @FFAttack
      @FFAttack  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @Luckyblooms
      @Luckyblooms 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FFAttack measurement wise it should be around 2mm overhang depending on the pad. Not optimized but should be functional in theory? Based on technical drawings I can find, the caliper should work with a pad shim on each side to take up some thickness. Might order a rotor from Rogue and Mini to compare 1:1

    • @FFAttack
      @FFAttack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes your right, sorry I was thinking the smaller Mini rotor, that would not be bad. On my setup currently I have 1-2mm of pad overhang. @jonnywu5058 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FFAttack Good to know. Just curious. Why did you redo all the brake lines? And decreasing the brake line pressure for rear brakes would give better brake response?

    • @FFAttack
      @FFAttack  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I redid them to allow the Prop valve and simplify. I wanted to be able to adjust bias easily. Up here we get a lot of wet or damp track days so being able to adjust braking is a good idea. On these Honda’s the factory lines are Married front to back meaning the drivers front is on the same circuit as the passenger side rear and same on the other side. So when you put adjustable prop valve in you kind of need to do the lines. Ideally yes you do need to reduce pressure to the rear when going this big in the front. Going with a low grip rear pad is a bandaid but can work as well.
