There are some tricks from my experience Standard house : DON'T add any specialization, but make sure the services keep working. These building looks like old New York buildings Premium house : Add ONLY one specialization, like a park. It'll look like colorful apartment Luxury house : Add MORE than one Specialization, like park and education/transport/the other EXCEPT landscapes. Landscape just give you a little increases of population. The building will look like high tower and modern building which dominated by silver. May that can help you

Now I know what it recidencies need to be luxury, services, mainly police, fire, and health. Then the most important part, the specialiazations. I bought many landscapes like big lake and some ponds, some bridges, some campsites and forests. I also had department of education for extra population and extra chance of the buildings being luxury. Then the kindergarten and grade school. That's what I did and now I have over 15 luxury skyscrapers. Idk if it works for others but it worked for me, although I only have 106k population at level 21

Josue Portillo are you sure that you checked to see if the building that you wanted to upgrade was orange before you upgraded? Even if you have a zone that is orange for some low population buildings, that doesn't mean that it will remain orange for higher population buildings (if that make sense)... in other words, you might have to add more population boost buildings as your residential building get taller

In Step 4, what other specialization buildings you put there, other than the big park? Also, how 'luxurious' a park need to be for the surrounding residential buildings to be luxurious too? I tried before prior to watching this video with several small parks like reflection parks, but somehow it doesnt work. But with more special park like the Crescent Garden and Mayor's Pass buildings, it works.
Hi, I have a question, first of all I'm level 43 and have 742k population but I want to rearrange my city as the layout is not good and I want to get these luxury buildings. So instead of bulldozing all my buildings is it possible to build a park and put the buildings next to it and upgrade them to luxury buildings ? @@BuilditwithSmith hey so I tried this I am at level 15 right now I got all my parks at one spot and brought a new residential zone and built it it bacame a luxurious building but and then upgraded the same building it worked again but then the building became yellow and not orange even though I have about 60% boost of parks there
MrLaZer18 no, my city has grown now, don’t be worried, over time when you unlock schools and transportation, that’s when you need to start thinking about it
Good tip. I just discovered the land value map by accident today after months of playing. I guess I was lucky in my ignorance as I only have 3 residences (population is 270k) that aren't "luxurious". Just one small tip for your videos... I'd turn off the game sound for them. That's just my personal preference though. 😉

I have an established luxury zone. Gonna used it to build luxury building then move them around my city to replace premium builds. Just make sure you keep an eye on the traffic to maintain happiness

@@TheSmiley316 Just build a small zone area in which every specialization buildings is available like transportation,park,education and etc,the buildings that overlap these specialization building will acquired these luxury status,at least thats how i did by accident trying to maxed my population as much as possible.So now,when you want your new building to have luxury look,you can move the original building in luxury zone to another place and place your new one at the luxury spot to upgrade.
I tried doing this, I surrounded a house with 3 parks that each give a 25% population boost and a public library. When I first built it, it said the land value was high and it was also in the orange. Although when I upgraded it again, the land value decreased and the wealth forecast was now yellow. Is there something wrong that I am doing?
This can happen as you upgrade more. Those buildings get more sims and so more specialization buildings are needed. Add more specialization buildings around the area (maybe higher percentage population boost)

Anthony you mean before you upgrade them again? Well I think it has to do with the population increase as you continue to upgrade a building... more boosts maybe required for taller buildings... does that make sense?

in my city i have a really dense river area with a bunch of parks and landscapes that boost the population by about 300k, and on the land value map mode the blue is so dark that it almost looks black. edit: because of this i actually have an omega building that is home to over 7k people

I’m currently playing this game and in my capital city I’m trying my hardest to build a city that in my eyes is a beautiful one. To be completely honest with you I would much rather have a city that is not completely full of skyscrapers. I would much rather. Want to be able to keep some of my buildings maybe it’s just condos or apartment buildings and zone them in a certain area or something to make my city feel more realistic. however the only problem with this is that as long as the buildings are not fully upgraded the stupid hardhat sign will be floating above it all the time bugging the crap out of me. I was wondering if it were possible for you to somehow ask EA to provide an option for us to disable the hardhat signs at Will please. If this is possible I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

NP Gaming you need all 3 services (police, fire and health)... then you need some items from the Specialization category. It can be parks, gambling, education (or whatever you want). You may need to add more than one building. The main objective is to make sure you add enough to make your wealth zone turn orange. Good luck!!

Hello smith! First of all love the video! How ever, when ever I do have a residential zone in the orange zone, with high land value, it always goes back to yellow once I upgrade it. I did have a plaza next to it, as well as a Christmas tree costing 7 keys. It also had all the coverage it needed, so I expected it to turn luxurious. This did not work, so I am asking if there is something you need to have unlocked/built, Or you have to have a certain level? Appreciate your videos!

Yes. Those are Standard building. Just build them away from parks and other population boosters. Make sure the buildings are “yellow” when you look at the Wealth Forecast map. Good luck

When you upgrade new buildings move them away from specialization buildings that give them a population boost

in my city i have a really dense river area with a bunch of parks and landscapes that boost the population by about 300k, and on the land value map mode the blue is so dark that it almost looks black.
edit: because of this i actually have an omega building that is home to over 7k people

Hey thanks for the amazing tips, but I have a question. I’ve only played the game for 3 days and I’m level 17 with a population of 76k. I simoleons bounce around from 70k to 90k. Is it worth buying education/specialization stuff?
(EDIT): Btw I’ve played this game before so I’m somewhat already experienced and I decided to get it again but level 17 is the farthest I got and not sure if I should spend on parks and stuff
I’m currently playing this game and in my capital city I’m trying my hardest to build a city that in my eyes is a beautiful one. To be completely honest with you I would much rather have a city that is not completely full of skyscrapers. I would much rather. Want to be able to keep some of my buildings maybe it’s just condos or apartment buildings and zone them in a certain area or something to make my city feel more realistic. however the only problem with this is that as long as the buildings are not fully upgraded the stupid hardhat sign will be floating above it all the time bugging the crap out of me. I was wondering if it were possible for you to somehow ask EA to provide an option for us to disable the hardhat signs at Will please. If this is possible I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
No there is no way for them to do that. You can go into photo mode to remove icons if you just want to view your city
I can’t help but wonder why doing something like that isn’t possible. I believe they just don’t wanna spend time on something that won’t bring in a large profit

I have a question if this channel still alive' so i just started im lvl 21 and i didn't know about luxury buildings or skyscraper until now, and i want to make that buildings because it looks cool but i already maxed out my residental buildings and it seems that it doesn't turn into a luxury or skyscraper even when it turned into orange do i need to bulldoze all my buildings and make a new one so I can make a skyscrapers or luxurious one? 😔

There is no sound of traffic,police, fire station hospitals etc in my game. When we tuch the building sound ( beep beep, alarms, etc) not coming.
I was unstalled the game and reinstalled again and still there is a problem.
Sound coming only from factory and store.

Every time I upgrade my first stage luxurious building it becomes premium idk why it’s right by a pond and a park. Do I need a school? If so I don’t have enough money for it.
No you do not need a school, you need more services or your game is laggy, I just needed one fountain park. I hope you found this helpful.
I like the old school buildings is there any way I could try to keep the old school buildings and turn them into luxury apartments because I want more art deco buildings and art deco luxurious apartments in my city?

Lema Lose are you checking that the buildings are orange just before you upgrade?

NP Gaming you need all 3 services (police, fire and health)... then you need some items from the Specialization category. It can be parks, gambling, education (or whatever you want). You may need to add more than one building. The main objective is to make sure you add enough to make your wealth zone turn orange. Good luck!!

Hello smith! First of all love the video! How ever, when ever I do have a residential zone in the orange zone, with high land value, it always goes back to yellow once I upgrade it. I did have a plaza next to it, as well as a Christmas tree costing 7 keys. It also had all the coverage it needed, so I expected it to turn luxurious. This did not work, so I am asking if there is something you need to have unlocked/built, Or you have to have a certain level? Appreciate your videos!

@@Luk3-936 yeah, apparently no matter what, if it keeps going back to yellow, you must have 3 parks, attractions, or I guess “fun zones.”

Why do I always get New York style buildings? I already have parks and services near them and I don't seem to get buildings that are "luxurious"
Make sure that the buildings that you want to upgrade are in an “orange” luxury zone on the upgrade map. 👍🏾

I know this is weird but do you know how to get the old tall buildings? Like the first tall buildings you get in the game?? Like I keep getting luxuries building, but I have a small spot in my city and I want that small spot to be old buildings, the first buildings we get in the game.
Yes. Those are Standard building. Just build them away from parks and other population boosters. Make sure the buildings are “yellow” when you look at the Wealth Forecast map. Good luck
