Hola! So as confirmed by the rental place, carburetor was probably not maintained well, hence the poor performance. I also got a lot of feedback from subscribers that their units can do 100-110kph or more. As mentioned in the video, we are well AWARE that these types of bikes are not designed merely for speed but balanced road capabilities and off-road. It is designed to overcome steep slopes and uneven roads. But as said on the video, it was not on tip-top shape when I used it which explains my feedback. Nevertheless, other observations still hold true. Cheers!
at last nag ka time din maka nood hehe. Lesson learned, ipatono accdg to your preferences ang motor na aarkilahin, lalo na pag more than 2-3days gagamitin tapos long rides pa. ride safe!

I just purchased an XR and this review is quite alright. The only thing to note is the fact that this is not a dual sport as such but a farm bike. This is designed to be bullet proof machine for taking care of your rice terrasse in Cordilleras and not to try to speed up. You don't look for performance but reliability and some confort for riding. This is a good bike to visit quietly Rizal including nearly all trails, you can even put some food in your box just in case without problems. Very practical even if not that shiny.
@@edouardl2As a person who has used both xr 150 (mine) and crf 150 (my brother's), I prefer XR for longer rides as the seat is wider than the crf which makes it more comfortable. On the other hand, the crf's thinner seat helps me with control when i go through hard to navigate terrain. One major difference is, the crf already comes with tires suited for trailing, while it is recommended to change your xr's tires before taking it trail so as not to get stuck. Another major difference is that the crf has more ground clearance that the xr which will benefit in rough and bumpy terrain. The xr is also a bit heavier than the crf because of its larger gas tank. I would prefer the xr for more leisurely travelling, while crf for enduro and motocross. (My brother is still in debt from his crf, while i already paid off my downpayment)
Edit: Yung problem po sa top speed at sa batak is because of the sprocket, kelangan syang papalitan dahil ung stock is nakaka-underpower ung combination. Ito talaga ang pinakabest na motor na less than P100k dito sa atin, isang pinakamalaking regret ko sa buhay na pinagpalit ko ung XR150L ko sa Sniper, great review sir JT!
Hindi yan "underpower" 51t tmx pantra gamit namen....dinesign para magbuhat ng heavy load....di dinesign para sa top speed...ganun din sa trail bike....pang rough roads uphill climbing kaya ganyan ang design ng engineer...unless sasali ka sa karera na maraming ginagawa para mabawasan ang weight at bumilis....pero kung normal use lang okay na yan tama lang yung speed para safe at malakas sa rough conditions....maganda kase ang torque ng honda bikes yun ang napansin ko try nyong icompare sa ibang jap brands....

Hi Jaytee, ang masasabi ko ukol sa xr150l na travel adventure bike pang pinas ay swak na swak. Ideally 250cc talaga ang balanse sa power, pero ang 150cc na enduro pasok. Nakalibot narin ako gamit ang yamaha ybr125, isang saksakan na bagal na motor pero kahit sa matarik na pataas ng marcos highway sa baguio at malubak na kalye ng andaya highway sa bicol, kayang kaya ko pa umovertake ng mga humahataw na sasakyan bus at kotse. Ang dali pa iroro at isakay sa mga pumpboat. Wala kang aalahanin kung masiraan kung saan sulok, basta may mga tricycle may partes. Rekomenda ko yang xr150l at yamaha xtz 125 kung ayan lang kaya. Pero huwag natin diskwentahan ang mga naka wave bravo at rusi. Basta tumatakbo may byahe. More power.

Baka bago pa ang unit na gamit nyo sir. Yung XR 150 ko umaabot ng 130 ang takbo dalawa kami malaki ang tiyan 😆😆😆😆 siguro bago lang talaga ang unit kaya wala pang hatak. Salamat!
My present unit is XR150l very good bike yun nga lang problem is no fuel gauge. Pero kung takbong pogi lang kaya nya more or less 500 kms. Kaya always check ur tank and compute the total distance travel.
hindi po palyado yang binigay sa inyo. meroon po kaming xr150l 2016 model at 2019 model. talaga pong mas mahina yang xr150l na 2019. yung 2016 namin nakakaabot ng 100kph+ at parang gusto pa nyang mag shift ka sa 6th gear kahit 5th gear lang meroon sya. samantalang yung 2019 model hirap talagang umabot sa 80kph. tingin ko po dahil yun sa paghihigpit sa emissions standards. mahahalata nyo po sa muffler nyan na magkaiba na ang loob nung dalawa. isa pa mas tahimik na din yan kaysa dun sa 2016 model. nagtataka nga po kami kasi nakalagay sa specs nung 2016 model ay ang engine displacement nya ay 149cc lang compared dun sa 2019 na 150cc talaga.
Ito rin ang problema sa xr150L ko. Pero kaya nmn 127kph max, sagad2x n yan. Pero minsan kinukulang ng power kung steep climbs. Ewan ko bah ko pgdadrive ko ang problema o ang motor mismo may issue. I hope you can do a more indept review sa motor. God speed po. Love the video
Sir motour may reserve tank po sya pag naubusan ka pde mo pa sya i pihit sa reserve it means yun yung signal or indicator na need mo na sya i refil ulit .. How ever kung nka reserve na yung fuel valve mo wala na syang reserve dapat everytime na mag refil ka make sure na nkatapat sa fuel valve on.
I just bought xr 150 second hand nag tataka ako 80-90kph at my lagitik sound, pinalinis ko ang carb and tune up ayun nag 120kph pero mtgal since malka ang ang sprocket, ang power nito uphill jan mo siya mararam daman on flat roads dont expect speed tlga, anyway honda is honda durable and fuel efficiency.. Still waiting sir JT Mindanao Chapter :)
I also have this motorcycle. And nagtataka talaga ako kung bakit sa akin hanggang 90kph lang din ma top speed ko. Lahat mantained naman. Maybe sa break in but still agree ako sa lack of power.

Aiming for this or the crf. But the lack of fuel gauge give me 2nd thought in choosing this. Im a newbie in riding bike at hindi pa ako sanay sa tantsahan. May aftermarket ba na fuel gauge na pwede ikabit dito para ma monitor ang gasolina?

XR 150 at CRF 150 ay halos pareho lng, Honda lng kasi lahat yan at mismo ang mekaniko ng Honda nagsabi na ang CRF 150 ay kunti lng ang lamang sa XRM 125 kung lakas ang basehan, cguro nasa 110 lng ang peak speed nya, mabuti pa yung Skygo 150 ko tumakbo na 110 d pa piga ang gasolinador...

Kung masyadong malambot suspension matalbog ka, parang naka pogo stick. 😁 Pero kung comfort ang paguusapan, OK sya. Di ramdam ang mga lubak, less tagtag. 👍
I won't recommend yet yung hiniraman namin, dahil hindi naging considerate during the Corona lockdown. Basta iwasan mo ang Amarie. 🙂 Check online sa magaganda ang reviews.
kagandahan naman sa crf150l ay yung showa suspension at mas fuel efficient dahil fuel injected. isa pa parehas disc brake ang harap at likod ng crf150l. yung gulong na stock ng crf150l ay mas maganda for offroad use at madaling humanap ng kapalit dahil standard size (21 front, 18 rear) samantalang yung sa xr150l (19 front, 17 rear). medyo mas balanced yung gulong ng xr150l sa off-road at pavement. yun nga po pating sinabi nyo mas comportableng upuan yung xr kaysa sa crf kasi yung sa crf ibinase dun sa upuan nung mga talagang crf( crf x, crf r, crf rx, crf rw, crf f, crf m, etc). isa pang maganda sa xr150l ay yung parts nya ay mas mura kasi yung parts nya ay kaparehas ng sa Honda supremo.

Wala akong issue sa braking system depende sa pag adjust lang yan, yun lang talaga ang cons sa akin ang fuel indicator ang wala.

Awesome road test am considering retirement in the Philippines and yes a dual sport is affordable reliable transportation

Nope, it's not the bad dahil nag tour kame na walang bag sa isang place, matalbog pa din. And the maximum weight is often exaggerated.

Sir JT, new subscriber nyo po ako and it's been a while na po na nanonood ako sa mga adventure rides nyo. Sana po maka quick review o di kaya full review ng Yamaha XTZ 125. Gusto ko pong bilhin to dahil dual sports but hindi po ako sure sa performance nya on road dahil most vlogs po ng XTZ ay off road. Salamat po.

Sa tingin ko sir jt kaya nabitin sa top speed ay dahil may issue sa carburetor. Hindi siguro efficient Yung air to fuel ratio kaya mukhang kulang sa hp. Pero base sa mga nabasa at napanood ko, kaya nya upto 105-120kph.
Mismo. Good observation. Madumi pala carb kaya ganun. Lagi ko naman binabanggit sa video na based lang yan sa actual use ko.

Actually di sila nagkakalayo sa gas consumption at maintenance. Pero kung di mo kelangan ng expressway legal bike, mas comfortable si adventure bike.

mahina ba talaga quality ng rear or monoshock ng XR 150L?
Aiming for this or the crf. But the lack of fuel gauge give me 2nd thought in choosing this. Im a newbie in riding bike at hindi pa ako sanay sa tantsahan. May aftermarket ba na fuel gauge na pwede ikabit dito para ma monitor ang gasolina?

Yung walang fuel gauge walang problema kung laging naka-on yung fuel switch.....
Ganyan kabagal XR 150 ko na parang palyado kasi naka-full choke pala. Nung swinitch ko sa choke off. ang tulin. Mas matulin pa sa ibang scooter.
Na double check namin, hindi naman naka choke. Iba pa din kase kapag rental bike, di mo alam pano ginamit ng mga naunang nag rent at paano i-maintain.

nice review sir JT!! I agree sa mga sinabi mo. ung sa gas may on and off sya tapos reserve. pag nalagay mo na sya sa reserve need mo na magpagas. Pero 40 km pa kaya itakbo nun. Long ride no problem. kumportable ako kahit malayo hehe. isa sa cons pa nyan pag umulan talsik lahat ng putik sa pantalon mo kahit konting basa sa kalsada hahaha.

Planning to get this bike and ang concern ko talga is yung comfort ng motor, kasi mejo stressful pag matagtag considering din na angkas ko wife ko and gusto ko comfortable sya sa byahe. Can you please elaborate yung suspension sa paved road, mejo na-slow ako dun, di ko nagets actually sorry for that. Pano sya naging cons? Thank you in advance! Keep it up!
Kung masyadong malambot suspension matalbog ka, parang naka pogo stick. 😁 Pero kung comfort ang paguusapan, OK sya. Di ramdam ang mga lubak, less tagtag. 👍

I would prefer the crf150 than this xr150.
For long road for me hindi maganda crf150 kasi masakit sa pwit matigas upuan. Talagang kinukumpara si crf150 kay xr 😅
kagandahan naman sa crf150l ay yung showa suspension at mas fuel efficient dahil fuel injected. isa pa parehas disc brake ang harap at likod ng crf150l. yung gulong na stock ng crf150l ay mas maganda for offroad use at madaling humanap ng kapalit dahil standard size (21 front, 18 rear) samantalang yung sa xr150l (19 front, 17 rear). medyo mas balanced yung gulong ng xr150l sa off-road at pavement. yun nga po pating sinabi nyo mas comportableng upuan yung xr kaysa sa crf kasi yung sa crf ibinase dun sa upuan nung mga talagang crf( crf x, crf r, crf rx, crf rw, crf f, crf m, etc). isa pang maganda sa xr150l ay yung parts nya ay mas mura kasi yung parts nya ay kaparehas ng sa Honda supremo.

meroon lang yan na maliit na toolbox doon sa left side ng rear wheel. doon sa portion na katapat ng muffler

XR 150L po Legit na legit talaga.. Grabee ang hands ng play.. sa stock sprocket set niya umabot ako ng 126kph kahit na off road bike pa SIYA..
