Jonathan Roumie is the best actor of Jesus
Thats what happens when an actor is divinely chosen to play a role.
The day I stumbled upon The Chosen was a glorious day! And I just had a introduce it to other christians!! I even grabbed two of my friend's phones and started downloading all 3 seadons and episodes for them. Needless to say they became fans as well😂. I watch everything and everyone on the series and cannot wait for season three. My most loved characters are Jesus, Matthew, Peter and Nicodemus. But I also love all the others.❤ Dallas and Amanda Jenkins has my highest respect and I pray for all of you. God bless all the other cast and crew.
Nicodemus makes me cry all the time...and Simon telling Jesus "Don't let me go" over and over.
Nicodemus...definitely my favorite. He became so real. You could feel all of his nuanced emotions.

Nicodemus was wonderfully written and interpreted! What a moving character!
I agree. He’s phenomenal! It doesn’t seem like an actor, but the real Nicodemus!
A scholar like him became a follower of Francis of Assisi and then pope. Jonathan invests Jesus with the same magnetism that “Frenchy” had.
Oh boy I can't wait to meet Nicodemus one day, I think he was tormented and pressured so much by his wife and also the students. His wife was so worldly he could not get across the importance of being in Jesus company. It was so sad

And not Catholic. I'm sure Scott might have reservations as a Catholic but he see the overall good of the series, it doesn't have to be 100% perfect for each sect of religions.
Most powerful and touching scene for me was the jesus Nicodemus scene on the roof and later when Nicodemus secretly came to watch them leave, the sadness he portrayed absolutely broke me😭. Reminds me of how many times I rejected Jesus's invitation. 😥

Actually, one of my favorite scenes is while Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, James and John were outside and James is trying to hear what they're saying so he asks John, " what are they saying" and John says " shh, I'm writing this down." That was hilarious.
That’s one of my favourites too! It was so funny and made me imagine how the writters of the four gospels got to write the stories from different perspectives. The scene made it so real and relatable.

Roumie is truly superb in this role - the Jesus of my childhood imagination. Very moving
His scenes with the children are deeply moving. He was their teacher and they reacted as Hebrew would have with their teacher.
I loved the conversation between Little James and Jesus! It is for anyone who ever felt like they were never good enough
This is also my favorite scene. I see it as unhealed suffering. God does not make us suffer, but he can use our suffering to magnify His glory.
I honestly believe the whole show is divinely inspired.

If you look closely at Jesus’ face when they are under way you will see his expressions change to one of sorrow realizing the fate that awaits him but that his sacrifice is worth it for the children there and those future generations to come
The episode with the children is very charming. My hope is that “Abigail” will show up again sometime down the road, What natural leader she is!
Beautiful interview. And so encouraging to hear a Catholic scholar recognizing the biblical knowledge of the evangelical writers of The Chosen for their lifetimes of immersion in the Word of God and their insight into the relationship between Old and New Testament, between Judaism and Jesus. This TV series is bringing believers together around the 'authentic Jesus,' as Dallas likes to say, and I think God has something to do with that. :)

I loved this scene so much. To be honest, I sobbed. It brings such joy to know that Jesus is my Saviour and that I hopefully will see him one day.
My very Catholic neighbors told me about The Chosen during lent.
With the Church on lockdown ( Covid)
I felt like God was giving something so very special for Easter ( the Church was closed for Easter)
The Chosen is SO VERY SPECIAL.
Looks to me like God is doing a new thing! The Holy Ghost inspiration is ALL OVER THIS PROJECT.
This may not make sense, but I am GLAD that the Catholic Church isn't in charge of this project.
I believe this project is meant to bring greater Christian UNITY.
People who love this show tend to be people who DEARLY LOVE JESUS.

@@tonyaosborne6881 Can you imagine the changes and the restrictions that would have been foisted on the Chosen if it had been connected to the Roman Catholic Church? Possibly P. Francis would have turned it into an environmental special report and I'm not sure that Jesus would have been allowed to speak ANY words. Perhaps they would have just shown Him walking on water.
My heart is broken by the high-ups in the RCC. I am BRACING myself for the thing PF will promote this coming week on sycrinism. My brothers and sisters in the Lord are those who believe the AUTHENTIC & unchanging Gospel.
I can LOVE all of mankind and hope for their salvation through Jesus Christ .
However I believe Jesus said that the only way to the Father is through Him.
Won't matter what PF says unless its in line with the AUTHENTIC Gospel.
Maybe I will be happily surprised ?
Perhaps PF won't endorse an equal access to heaven through ANY religion.
But I know the great commission.
I know that Saints have given their lives to preach the Gospel to the whole world.
If anyone tells me those Saints died for nothing, I cannot believe them.

We have a bad Pope and it is hard to endure.
I don't plan to leave Jesus just because there are Judas types.
I believe in the real presence of the Eucharist.
The gates of hell won't prevail against the Church.
But I know the Church is the AUTHENTIC Christians. Not a building.
GOD HELP US.
And, He does.
The Chosen has shown me the awesome creativity of God to work AROUND obstacles.
Let's keep praying for the production of a project that preaches the AUTHENTIC GOSPEL.

My favorite scene is every scene, I just love the cast and this Yeshua/Jesus is just the best ever. Jesus is cool🙈 I could sit at his feet and listen to him all day. Now I know how Mary felt.

Her name is Saint Photini, the martyr, (the woman at the well) who was martyred by being thrown IN a well, (where I am certain she met Jesus again)
I used to think of that saying the Rosary sometimes when done with "proper" mysteries. I loved it and how he sent the hypocritical stoners away from another woman.

The entire first season was so well done. My wife and I were totally enthralled with the reality laden scripts, yet absolutely true to the gospels. There were so many instances and scenes where I found tears of joy welling up in my eyes. Truly a masterpiece for the world to come to know our loving Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! His mercy endures forever!
The Diciple Little James limp was not in scripture. Dallas Jenkins said that was the one time they took liberty and re-wrote the script.
This whole series is truly, truly a work of the Holy Spirit!💙

When I saw that scene I thought to myself "I want to Jesus to take me in his arms like that."
I feel Jesus' profound love and peace whenever I pray for this now, that it brings tears to my eyes.
This series is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is for everyone. What a great blessing in these times.

@@JP2GiannaT many think the antichrist will rise out of a “one world religion” that attempts to unite the faiths. Not so much an issue at the moment but we are beginning to see attempts to unite also with Muslims and Hindus and others.

My favorite scenes is when Jesus meets Mary of Magdalene in the bar, when Simon falls on his knees on the beach, and the gift of Nichodemas to Jesus and the disciples. His tears were so real to me.

The chosen is such a powerful and profound show. My sister had a conversion back to Our Catholic Faith after watching it.
It touched her soul (true story) and mine!
All we do is talk about it.
But the costumes, the music , the acting, the selection of each character, and the writing, are all Supreme, truly!

I've been saying it since first viewing it: the *interweaving* of the disparate stories is simply remarkable and, coupled with absolutely top notch delivery, makes the stories more credible than any other Gospel movies I've seen.

Jonathan is the best Jesus ever. I love him, he is one amazing actor. I am 75 so this will be funny not observe. I called a friend of mine and I asked a friend that watches this too, I said to her” is it a sin to be in love with Jesus?” I just think he is making and so believable. I always have felt like I love Jesus . He was so amazing and is amazing. Thank you for this.

I love this interview. @Jonathan...I said it once today in our Chosen FB community, or Instagram...can't remember, but I will say it again here. Dear dr Scott I want to say that St.thomas Aquinas finally said all he wrote and taught was all chaff. BECAUSE it is the close intimate relationship with Christ that really matters.

As wonderful those were, The Chosen has taken scripture to a whole new and divinely inspired explosion of attraction! I love movies depicting our Lord and His mission but this series has shaken me to my very core. The last verse in the book of John reminds me of The Chosen. Just because something is not written in scripture doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen. If a scene doesn’t go against scripture, then I can see the possibility of it happening.
To me the Samaritan is number one, then Nicodemus J 3,16, Mary Magadalen exorcism, and the Jacob the lesser was excellent, it delivered the true spirit is not about one's health but abut the healing power through our miseries. Great!!! Series.
This film is an act of worship and faith. Jesus is real to me now. It doesn't matter if The Chosen gets it all 'right' by anyone's lights. What matters is that it gets it all real.
What I tell people about this series. It is by far the best portrayal of the New Testament, if you haven't read the Bible, you'll understand it better, if you know the Scriptures, it is amazing to see it portrayed this way!
I call the "Old Testament" the "Heart Testament", it truly reveals the heart of the Father for His children. This, the heart, is what has been missing from our churches for decades now, and I appreciate the focus of The Chosen on expressing His love. The big curse on Adam for his actions was the hardening of his heart - thus the uproar in Christian circles against this series. BUT we are commanded to worship in truth (mind, fleeing sin) AND Spirit (heart, love). - Blessings - BTW first people I ever met filled with the Spirit, were Catholic!
Yes that scene with nicodemus was definitely inspired and touched my spirit deeply.
The opening scene of season 2 where St. John is speaking to Mary our Blessed Mother on how to start his Gospel. “Oh, that was good, I think I’ll use it!”
Scott Hahn, your heart exploded ? That's exactly what I've been telling people about how this scene has affected me ! Especially the end of the scene where quotes from Psalm 2 are so wonderfully used to wrap up the scene. Truly inspired !!
