Waddell, Wilson is the man. This is somebody if he speaks. I'm listening to every word. He is sailing, and also you notice he doesn't brag. He's telling you how it really is, he's telling you what really happened? I remember back in those days in the 80s. I was just a child kid in high school. And I remember listening and hearing about, you know, he was a crew chief of this this car and this team and they ran this fast and he I won this race and it's just awesome. When you let creativity run free and allow that car builders and engine builders to have some creativity, you get People who were intelligent, who are building these cars these engines and there learning you take today's crew cheese and engine builders in NASCAR, 1020 years from now. Are they going to be able to sit? Around and tell stories like this, I doubt it
So my question is when Cale flipped and the crew wanted to go to happy hour rather than fix the car, did they become unemployed when they returned home ?
I wish he would have talked about what he did to the engines and carbs the nuts and bolts of the auto dynamics, roll resistance and control pressure as well. Have him back and get the details from him he is a genius. PLEASE get him on audio just explaining the aspects of all his genius please please
Waddell Wilson was an amazing innovator in his day.
Thank you for sharing this interview with a true legend of NASCAR!
Waddell is a legend thanks for having him
Waddell Wilson, Robert Yates and Smokey Yunick were geniuses when it came to building engines!
Absolute legend! Thanks for sharing.
David Pearson was my hero. I was in junior high, now known as middle school. Laugh-in was one of most popular shows.
The GOAT of stock car drivers ask Mr Petty 😊
I was in the same class as Wadell’s daughter Lisa Wilson. We graduated in 1982. She never knew or recognized me.
Waddell is from my hometown, Spruce Pine, North Carolina in Mitchell County!!
Thanks for the memories!

Fireball Roberts was my favorite driver when I was a little kid. My brother built a model of his 64 Mercury.
Fireball drove a Ford Galaxie in 64.
@@stealthbomber2127 The model kit had Holman Moody and Fireball Roberts decals on the sheet. Yes, he was killed in a 64 Galaxie.

L. O. Stanley. Google him.
Back when NASCAR was great. It died with Dale
It died with the france family favoritism. The silly points, segments and green/white/checker gimmicks sealed the deal.
