    I find it comical that port injection even gets used at all.. And if it did why wouldn't it be set up with a venturi system like on a blowtorch or the orifices in the middle of the airway and air inlets surrounding it creates a vacuum to help pull the air in.. and helps the mixing process.. I feel like things have been overcomplicated To keep people from understanding how it truly works.

    One thing I have found to make that teenager get off the couch faster is to tighten up the Intake PtoV. When the intake valve is close to the valve pocket as the piston travels down the bore I feel it helps draw on the port and get the flow stared faster. I like to run my intake PtoV at no more than .050 . The mistake I see many engine builders do is they do not check the PtoV with the running springs, test springs will lie to you.

      ​@@V8LennyYuup, I had heard about some of them and watch a little bit from another, from those I've seen it wasn't exactly insightful to watch. What's really funny is how at least some of them bash some others but because they don't see their own gap in knowledge they're sometimes missing the point, which is kinda ironic. 😆 The one thing I know at least some of them has done is what's talked about in this video, they have relied too much on just empirical A-B-A testing without looking beyond that. I'm sure they're helpful for a lot of people starting out so I certainly won't hold anything against the ones I've seen, but, there's a bit more too it all. 😄

      I couldn't agree with you more. That is exactly who i thought of when they started talking about wave tuning, valve events, exhaust, etc. Adam from Cattledog Garage & Racing definitely knows his stuff, ive learned more from his videos then I have anywhere else, specially his more recent videos. Fun fact, He is also one of the few to ever be able to achive supersonic flow but he actually showed video proof of it!! Larry Widmer has claimed supersonic flow in a n/a ic engine is possable but never showed any proof. Also my understanding is that Darren Morgan isn't even sure supersonic flow in the exhaust is even possable, that alone speaks volumes to Adam's deep knowledge of the physics & dynamics surrounding engine's & Performance. Edit: I must add he achived Supersonic flow in a low compression 383sbc non race engine which is even more impressive.

    Gotta disagree on the 50 thousandths higher ring , and making more power due to less volume . It always helped moving the ring up , regardless of compression , or flame travel . The ring is activated sooner . The block is usually a little better there . Also I was cutting the ring grooves for Bill Jenkins 53 years ago , and been told we were the first with the pressure holes . At the time I didn't think we were first , just more drill work , lol . Oh , and the QC on the rings , and grooves , well Joe Tryson had me cut the grooves about .0005 wider , but hand ground and lapped steel toolbit . That was it , 100 percent , but we had the best rings in the world at that time , Imho ,,, !

      I left the most important part out didn’t I? Thanks Just so everyone else follows, I did not mention the increased reaction time of the ring when it’s moved up which is more than likely responsible for 80% of the power gains. Crevice volume is responsible for far less
