Consider installing Owl nest boxes on your property. Owls eat rodents that host ticks, attract and feed Bobcats, Coyotes and Pit Vipers. Northern Saw-Whet, Screech and Barn Owls are all looking for quality nesting cavities. Due to modern Forestry practices there are not enough quality nesting cavities. Barn Owls are best for open areas such as Vineyards, Orchards and pasture. However their nest boxes are the biggest and they mostly eat Meadow Voles. Screech Owls are smaller and will eat mice in the forest and Voles in the pasture. Northern Saw-Whet Owls could use some housing assistance too. Give a Hoot, install an Owl nest box.
Especially great to see the younger generation getting in this! Gives hope for a better future. Regen Ag was mentioned at a hearing recently with RFK, jr; Caley and Casey Means; Mikaela and Jordan Peterson; and a bunch of others. Regen ag may get a boost from it, if consumers saw it.
Had a great time at the school George! Lot of people got fired up from it! Seemed to be a lot interest with a lot of folks wanting to get into small ruminants. All your livestock looked excellent! Have a good one George!
Thanks for the video! I’m so glad you got your farm ready for the grazing school! I know how much work it takes it get where you are at now. If only I knew about this kind of farming earlier in life. It’s funny how you find so many different people and backgrounds when you talk about regenerative farming/ranching.
Congrats on your successful grazing school George! I admire your courage and determination to make your grazing operation a great success! You are among good company, for starters I recognize the Master of regenerative ranching Greg Judy and his legendary Herd Manager Isaac Tappenden. I'm not familiar with the other two gentleman but if they are included with these fine men I just haven't discovered them yet?
Thank you Bryan, the school was great! Jordan definitely knows how to push limits, watch his operation @whoesomefamilyfarms. He's not afraid to try anything.
Do you have any videos on the actual finances and profits of your operation or a similar operation? It’s hard to find someone who actually talks about the finances.
