Cole Sonne is "King of the silage pile"! Great drone footage! Amazing!
Those drone views always get my heart pounding. And the music he chooses adds to the feeling.
Most of the year Cole is "King of the manure piles" 😂 running the box scraper in the feedlots.
Better than being "King of the manure pile."
Tiny dog got it made
I found your father's twin, Allen Hale Jr. From Gilligan's island, he was the Skipper!! Thought I would throw this out there to get a Lol
It took years for me to learn what LOL really stood for, I still prefer to be wrong about Lots Of Love!
Yes he does!!!!!😁😁
Would that make Cole Gilligan then? He seems like Brian’s little buddy…….
I just looked him up (show is prob older than me or Cole) and yeah he does look like Brian
@@jackbarry9469are you from Springfield Ohio
Drone editing and acoustic music spot on. Prayers for a save harvest season.
I always love the drone shots and the music it’s always so relaxing and I’d be more than happy to just watch a drone shot medley video no matter how long!!!
Gratitude for the uplifting content, your unwavering dedication doesn't go unnoticed.
I appreciate that
Video is only up 10 minutes and it’s got 1700 + views! Cole is bigger than Elvis 😂
Better lookin’ too!
You know what would make this video even better? Smell-a-vision. Now, I'm thinking about the lunches on silage days. Back in the day, the neighbor ladies had an unspoken competition on who prepared the best meals, best variety of homemade pies. Good times. Thanks, Cole.
Any meal brought out the field was the best. My mom always brought lunch out to the field. Even supper during harvestt. Hotdish's, potato salad, fresh stuff from the garden. Yum!Even a bologna sandwich tasted better with dirty hands a little dust and straw or silage on it!
I know it's hard work but what a wonderful life you have❤ it's good to see.
Farmers are American heros. Sun up, to sun down and beyond. Thanks you guys.
How’s Tiffany feeling?
pretty goood!
Work, work, work, work, work, and then work some more. Great work men! 🇺🇲💪
great vtdeo cole
Glad you enjoyed it
@@SonneFarms thank you for the reply give my reguards to your dad
Imo best smells ever...fresh cut alfalfa, silage, feedlots and a pre Def motor starting in the winter. Damn I miss farming. Thanks for the video.
Don’t forget the smell of a fresh lit cigarette
@MattHenson-j5r yeah I know but got cancer in February so yeah
Thank you Cole and Dad Brian for sharing everything.God bless you and your family.
I'm glad to see that yll take pride in your work and that's why I'm proud to say we are America and if I ever become a farmer I hope I'm only as half as great as you guys are ty sonne farm can't wait till the next video could watch you guys all day and night and one day imma come there and hope to meet you both amazing work and hard work I no I done it but you make it look so easy so again thank you both can't wait till ur next video
When ya stood on the pickup roof to grease the auger, I heard “ 🎼Time to do some sketchy &h!+, do da, do da 🎼” in the back of my head.
Thank you for spending your time bring us the workings of your farm that provides food for us. Thank your Dad too
That concrete bunker for silage really seems to improve speed and quality of your feed conversion! Any draw backs?
When your shirt gets torn do you send it in to jd for repair as they won't allow you to repair your own stuff.
How old is Tiny Dog?
Just a few months.
Whats the movie quote from Days of Thunder?......"rubbin's racing son" lol
As I’m not a real farmer I only play one in video games, my selection of TH-cam farmers is fairly small but I be found I love your videos because of you and your dads relationship it reminds me of how me and my pops were. He passed at 67 from cancer. Hug your pops everyday and tell him you love him. You got a new viewer for life ❤
Thanks Cole. Have gone back to the beginning and made sure I have watched and liked all your videos for your support.
Drone shots..... YAY!! TY for a breakfast movie this fine day!! Chop on, men!! :)
Haven’t seen the 2 special ladies of Sonne Farms lately. Hope they are both doing well 💖💖💖
Love those drone shots!!!❤️🙏🇺🇲
Standing on the truck cab to reach the auger spout. Is that OSHA approved?? 🤣🤣🤣
No it’s not. The Approved method is to stand in the skid steer bucket, while someone else raises you in the air.
Awesome video Cole and Mr. B. Thank you guys very much
It's Sonne Day almost Sonne Sunday. I hope you and the rest of the family had a great week, Cole.
👍 from SE Iowa
"Pinky and the Brain", sorry couldn't help it.
Cole you have a lot weeds around your bunkers trim them
Sure is nice to see so much healthy green in those drone shots after all the brownish the past three years. Love the Darlington Stripe on the pit!
I really liked the music you chose for this video, Cole. But I miss Brian and his "song of the day" portion. With the filling of the silage bins and as much hay as y'all put up this year, your cattle will be happy and full all winter. And Congratulations Cole!!! 🥳🍼🧷
that drone and chopping footage is sweet.
Thanks 👍
That’s a good one Cole, “The radiator belt”!, kind of like needing “muffler fluid”! Love the drone shots by the way, as always!
Maybe the Storla Station should keep some radiator belts in stock.
Andy Hourigan would be impressed with your bunk packing skills!👍🌽🤓
Love his channel. He has a few tons of feed stored up. :). Hard working family.
Good video good to see y'all
I saw a video of a guy that had made a silage packer out of a row of railroad car wheels. Now that would be a project too take on
Cole could do it. If it's made of metal, that guy seems to be able to build about anything!
LOOKING GOOD!
Cole. I was curious about your mixing the feed. Do you have specific weights of each feed you put in the mixer? Like a recipe. When I use to mix feed for the dairy we had two lots. A and B. The A cows were fresh milkers so they got more protein and minerals. B cows got less of those items since they were about to dry up.
❤ from Norway
Enjoyed a lot! I'm so sick of this hurricane clean up. could you explain who the harvest crew company / folks are? I didn't know that was a thing until about a year ago.
Thanks for the great video Cole and Brian. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch for sure.
Silage time is always interesting. Hard on equipment though it seems. Heavy stuff. Always enjoyed the smell of silage and the sorghum. You and dad do a great job with the pit silos. I always enjoyed doing the packing with the heavy tractor. Lots of back and forth to get it packed nice and tight which is key to the silage pit. Looking good you guys!!!!!!!
Getting the big augers out for harvest. Time to grease them up. Your augers are big ones. Standing on top of the pickup to grease made me nervous Cole. You be careful doing that. Know that is the quick way but still better ways. Harvest is just around the corner.
Sonny likes to be out and about with both of you. He is the supervisor he thinks. Cute little dog for sure.
Thanks for everything Cole and the drone footage. The drone filming is amazing too watch. Gives you a different perspective of the operation. Thanks.
You both take care and be safe.
Thanks.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve
😊😊👋👍🌽🇺🇸🇺🇸
Another awesome video. Thank you for.all the great videos over the years. Hope Tiffany is doing well with the body changes and all is progressing great...God Bless..
Hey Cole my family and I cleaned out some of the hoodies at Storla Friday 9/27/2024 the person working was way nice. Thanks
I would love to see y’all go visit Andy farming pics and fabricating. Even though different types of farming practices dairy/cattle so much in common with family.
Thanks before I even watched always good regardless
Wow, watching the silage pits fill up is always so satisfying! The efficiency of the process and how everything works together is impressive. Hats off to the hardworking farmers making sure everything is done right for a great harvest!
What was that that "popped" at 4:04 when you were greasing the universal joint? Then all the Grease came out... Sounded like something broke or snapped..
Yeah I reckon not that’s for sure. I would think that that’s pretty close. Great job today guys. Yeah stuff wears out that’s for sure. Brother, good luck. Hopefully we’ll see doing the corn piece out to you and the family.
Always check the radiator belt and the muffler bearings. 🙂 Red Green always said, if its male or mechanical it will give you problems sooner or later.
Silage cutting crew is down, nothing to do. Let's get the auger out and get it ready for harvest. You two are always at least one step ahead of the game. That and your hard work = success. You guys are a top notch example of how it should be to be successful farmers and ranchers..... Now, who would have ever thunk that a picup roof and a headache rack were also designed for greasing the top end of an auger! You guys stay safe out there!
Really know how to run the squisher. Should apply for a government job, no polital afiliation needed. See if Musk can use your services.
Cole you'll replace a lot fewer bearings and u-joints in your lifetime if you quit pumping before their seal goes POP.
Saw you stepped onto the roof of your pickup. Do you realize that can affect your resale?
Cow manure does a far worse number on resale value...
OMG. farmers never sell their vehicles
True farm.trucks live.and die on the farm. :)
Watching away thinking I know your fleet then boom, ! Another 30 or 20 series pops out of the woodwork.
Rubbing the wall with the tires keeps the sidewalls looking new LOL. Yeah a fan belt missing can cause issues.
Tiny Dawg getting belly rubs. Bulldawg apoved
COLE, with that new haircut, you look a lot like Rowdy Yates from Rawhide I recon.
Hey Cole-Better watch your step getting down from that “scaffold”! That first step is a killer! Hahahaha
Once again some great aerial views, love the music montage with it. A shame about the trucks fan belt, but we all know what that's like, cause if you're a farmer you have this happen to you more than any farmer wants or likes. Good luck with the rest of the silage!
Nice to see the pits filling up. Hope all goes well with a safe harvest. Hope Tiff is doing well.
Great production, interesting comments, stylish new haircut!😊
Don’t be fooled by the weather, last week we were setting temperature high record’s, next week the lows are below freezing. Time to bring in the gardens, or we will have frost on our pumpkins.
Do you plant a different variety for chopping corn? High moisture corn?
Hey Cole do you ever run the auger before pumping materiel through it to make sure no critters are inside and you aren’t dumping critters into your bins?
Eric at 10th Generation Dairy Farmer wants to talk to you about building. a silo maybe even 3
Ever think of using the John Deere loader to push silage looks like it’s a little heavier maybe more compaction or would that be over kill 🤔
It’s a never ending job Cole . Americans eat because of farmers and ranchers like you and Brian .
Until Tiny Human appears, Tiny Dog is the best part of this channel! 13:47
Corn silage looks great. Always enjoy seeing your puppy in the video. Have a great weekend and stay safe
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌞 Farms!!!
Everything goes well until it doesn’t there’s always something to deal with great video keep on trucking
Cole and Brian it’s a very busy time for you so thank you for the video and for taking time to do drone footage my favourite thing to watch ❤
I know it’s a big relief when y’all have hay all done silage pits full an hopefully enough for all winter….
that chopping crew is having a tough time of it, hope things start turning around for them. Not the greatest times to have problems but they like to show up when stress/tension is high and push comes to shove
What is the reason for the sorghum over the top of the corn???Does it enhance fermentation????
What actually is silage?
Silage is fodder made from green foliage crops which have been preserved by squeezing out as much air possible, hence the big heavy machinery driviing back and forth over each layer as it’s applied. This allows the mixture it to ferment rather than mold and rot. As it ferments it will create heat, which because this is freshly cut green plants, enables a “controlled” fermentation process to the point of souring. Cattle love it and it’s great nourishment for over-wintering livestock. 🫡
The whole plant which is taken and chopped up into a bunch of little pieces. Usually corn, but lots of people will also chop up other crops for it too, but most of the time it’s going to be corn
Corn or hay chopped at ? 63% moisture neighborhood. It is put in bunks like this or upright or bagged.. it is sealed so it will ensile or ferment.
Good high energy protein. Good digestible for cattle during the winter months when it is feed.
Feel free to correct me on anything on this. No hard feelings.
@paulprigge1209 Not a correction hete. Just 3ant add that it is really good feed in the winter time when it is -20 degrees out there. In the morning, those cows are a hunched up from the cold. You put some silage out there and you can just see them relax as they consume it. Gets their metabolism going. Very good feed values.
Good morning how are the yields
This year, because of the rain
You gotta get that belly dump out there in the field for that chaff!
/sarcasm
Absolutely love the drone footage - thanks for that !!!!
Polishing the 4wd tractor would make a great video
Hi! What automatic waterers do you use for your cattle in the winter? Are they non-electric?
how come youre uncle jeffs silage pit isnt as cool as youre pops pit ?
Disappointed in not seeing the blade get hooked up and seeing if it had corn or a flower growing out of the opening to the hookup 😂.
Check your battery in your remote. Might be dead or dying.
Awesome video Cole. Drone footage is awesome. 🚜🚜🚜
Nice Video but why you dont use a shild on the big traktor too push the silage ?
8:13 Nice view with the cattle in the background.
Why don't you use the payloader on the silage pit?
Sweet smell of fresh cut silage and sorghum makes some tasty steaks on the grill
Full pits and rows an rows of round bails gotta be a great feeling
Did you get a new camera. Videos today are the clearest ever!
Did you get a new pusher blade with the new tractor
The ones with the most lanyards make squad!
You will learn to love loading feed wagon with the payloader
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you
Thank you for another interesting video
Another very interesting video Thank you
It's about time for a bigger feed wagon?
