    I was waiting for the bullet type discussion that didn't occur. Instead there was a discussion of 3 different bullets. Three best types - Expanding copper, Partition/A-frame, and Bonded.

    It’s always nice when the interviewed “professional” doesn’t even know what they’re talking about… confidence inspiring, for sure.

    I haven’t used it yet but one thing I’m not happy with is the fact that the 308 is 175 grain. I would prefer 165. Also, there’s no 7 mm 08 offering last time I checked. But the technology in terminal a scent and reviews I have seen say it’s great.

      175 grain bucks the wind better than a 165 would.

      @@Stu650Zuk Those Nosler accubonds are a target bullet thin copper jacket not at all the same as Terminal Ascent with a long solid shank and the Accubonds blow up like a grenade I see from my hunting clients had used them.
      I have seen those accubond bullets blow holes in deer as big as 8 inches on the exit side and total loss of 3/4 of the game's meat wasted to be thrown to the Coyotes.
      Nosler Accubonds fired from any of the 7 mm magnums to 300 magnums are total bullet grenades !
      The only bullet worth anything for hunting made by Nosler now is the E Tips.

      @@Lure-Bensonreally? What about the Nosler Partitions? I’m shooting the Partitions, TA, and TTSX bullets Sunday to see what I want to take Elk hunting with my .308 from my research the guys in Alaska that all shoot big game swear by the TTSX’s.

    • @Lure-Benson
      @Lure-Benson 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BoostedMK6 I found out at the worst time that Nosler redesigned the Partition to blow off the noise of the bullet leaving a small FMJ shank.
      This happened using a 338 win mag on a wounded 1500 pound brown bear.
      These 225 grain Nosler's blew off the noises and only caused flesh damages under the shin.
      One recovered was stuck in the shoulder scapula because blow off the noise the bullet didn't have any more weight to make energy.
      I even tell client to bring Barns ammo with TTSX or TSX bullets and I almost exclusively shoot Barns TSX or TTSX - LRX bullets, the only rifle I don't use Barns bullets for is the AR 10 in 6.5-284 Norma that I shoot Norma 156 grain Oryx or the Vulcan bullets.
      My AR 10 I've chambered for 375-300 WSM is using the oldest Nosler 300 grain Partitions that are made of Broze + Zinc Aloy making these bullet hard and won't blow the noises off.
      These Nosler's have a Bronz metal color so when you find them at guns shows sold by hoarders you easy see the color different from copper and Bronz.
      Shooting the 308 leaded with Barns TSX 165 Grain bullets is about and good as you can get for a game load for the 308.
      I have a family member with a 308 who always shoot lead core bullets until I loaded for him some 308 using Barns TSX 165 grain bullets / then I heard back how they worked so well I understand that load stopped all the looking for Elk shot that ran off and died.

    It would be GREAT if Federal would release in mass the Terminal Ascent bullet for handloaders. They been non-existent since they were introduced to the market.

    • @Lure-Benson
      @Lure-Benson 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I came across those Terminal decent bullets in 7mm - 140 grain with a wrong price of $10 a box so I bought 1 box and loaded some in 7 mm Rem mag.
      Due to the rifle is a Tikka T3 ultra-light no matter what gets shot through this rifle it is a one-hole shooting gun so I can't judge the bullet to be bad or good if someone else shoots these bullets.
      I haven't shot any animals also with the bullets.
      All of the bullets have been now loaded into 7 mm Rem mag ready to go.
      I fired 3 of these 140 grain Terminal decent 7 mm into near same hole from that Tikka T3 7 mm Rem mag at 150 yards.
      I used 69 grains of MagPro powder. that really makes the rifle Bark and recoil.

    Im scared to try the terminal ascent due to the nickel coated bullet, at least in my nice rifles. What’s the possibility of damaging, or having excessive wear of the barrel in rifles like proof research conviction, knights armament sr-25 APC, etc. These rifles cost easily $7-10k each, don’t want to risk damaging riflings in the bore.

    • @Lure-Benson
      @Lure-Benson 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The coating is to prevent bore wear does not damage it.

    Too bad they are not available for hand loaders. I definitely would work a load up for my rifles and test them during hunting season. Big complaint with copper is no blood trail due to small expansion vs cup and core.

      you can buy terminal ascents

    • @Lure-Benson
      @Lure-Benson 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The liars BS about no blood trail as bad as the parrot mount talking BS as copper expanding bullet are just FMJ bullets or won't expand past 100 yards or copper bullet must be pushed to extreme speeds before the bullets expand.
      How all of this wild lying BS starts is some ignorant fool after years of using cheap lead bomb bullet has gotten used to seeing massive 2 inch to 8-inch holes blown in game then having to throw away 3/4 of then game blood shot wrecked meat then sees the same small hole in game that the copper expanding bullets make and no blood shot meat then right way starts in with ignorant BS the copper bullets don't expand.
      As a professional Alaskan hunting guide all of my clients are told you bring a 338-win mag or larger and only bring Barns ammo with TSX bullets or go look for another guide.
      My life isn't worth the life of a dumb ass ignorant hunter who would bring deer ammo lead core bullets to hunt Brown bears or Yukon moose where I may have to defend my life and the client's life from an angry in rut Yukon bull moose or wounded moose or attack by a Brown bear or black bear this is why gambling on total crap lead core bullets isn't worth it!
      Even deer hunting and a dead deer might bring in a bear who has never seen humans then thinks of taking over the deer can turn into a life or dead problem attack on you.
      I have and my clients have shot hundreds of more animals than you will ever see, and we have zero problems using Copper expanding bullets and we don't need blood trails common to shooting game with inferior lead core bullet we have game dead on the spot.
      These Federal bullets had been on self's for reloads and I am sure maybe again would come available.
      I bought a box wrongly priced for $8 of 7 mm 140 grain Federal terminal Ascent for target shooting and to shoot coyotes.

    • @danellebarnette6380
      @danellebarnette6380 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those hornady CX bullets are nice. I took a couple of nice deer with those but of course I put them through both shoulders as I do with any other monolithic bullet. Those bullets like resistance. Double lung shooters should stick to cup and cores!!

    • @Lure-Benson
      @Lure-Benson 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a professional Alaskan & Pacific NW hunting guide that has used Barns bullets exclusively, I have used the Barns X to the improved TSX and LRX these bullets have no comparison to any other bullets for killing!
      The only problems are idiots who got used to shooting lead bomb bullets that blow massive 2" to 8" holes and blood shot 3/4 of the game's meat is wasted then the idiot shoots a game animal with a copper expanding bullet and then sees holes slight larger than caliber of bullet used and zero meat loss then start the ignorant BS copper bullets don't expand!
      98% of hunters are pure dumb asses which is proved by reading these video comments and half of my hunting clients.
      Just look at the ignorant green horn hunter daniellebranette comment where he believes copper expanding bullets do zero harm to game animals shot in the lungs! total dumb ass comment that just parrot mouthed over and over from ignorant hunters.
      What makes this kind of ignorant green horn moron even more stupid is they can't explain why solid Brass & Zinc dangerous game bullets how these kill animals dead!
      I own some of the discontinued Barns Brass & Zinc nonexpanding 7 mm - 160 grain bullets I have killed Yukon moose stone dead on the first bullet fired from a 7 mm Rem mag.
      I have fired at Yukon Alaskan moose the Nosler Bras & Zinc solid flat noised 9.3 bullet from my 9.3x62 Mauser with instant killed dead on Hugh Yukon bull moose.

      @Lure-Benson I've never seen any copper recovered on game always pass through I've used tsx ttsx LRX CX and copper impacts by Winchester....LRX had the biggest exit hole and copper impact did the most internal damage but all are very similar want to try the Hammer Hunters have heard great things about them.

  • @Lure-Benson
    @Lure-Benson 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I have been a professional hunting since 1976 so I have seen all kinds of bullets used on animals from the Pacific NW to Alaska and when the Barns X bullet was out, I used these for game hunting then Barns made improvements on the X bullet that became the Barns TSX or LRX that I use only when hunting game from deer - Elk - Yukon Moose ' Black bears and Brown bears.
    Lead core bullets of any kind or brand I am never shooting those ever for the game I just wrote about.
    I don't care how much a bullet manufacture states how great their bullets are I have seen the failures of lead core bullets far too many times, and I have a zip lock baggie of clients failed lead core bullets to prove shooting lead core bullets today when copper expanding bullets are superior in all ways - you have to be an idiot to use any bullet with a lead core.
    I have what is left of these garbage Nosler Accu bond bullets where in the animal what we found of the bullet was just a shredded part of copper jacket the Accu bond bullet blew up so badly!
