Great video as always brother. I honestly believe the Alpha is a perfect wheelbase for the majority of people but no harm if you can afford it to get the Ultimate. And thanks for the mention, I am homoured - Ali.
You just reminded me of my very first drive, I had the FFB cranked up to full, and I was driving the MX5. I lost control coming out of a fast corner and went nose first into a wall flat out, my bloody wheel nearly broke my thumbs, Ha Ha Ha, fucking brilliant. After that first heavy crash, I laughing like a mad man, with a huge grin on my face. Like I said in my previous comment, I couldn't be happier. Absolutely brilliant gear.
I was on the fence over the mini and regular alpha. Went regular alpha. You confirmed my choice the mini would clip under long sweepers. Your excitement is genuine. Cheers!
I already got it incl. the GT Neo. I am new to simracing (DD Wheel) so I have no comparrison. Why I went with the Alpha U, well because of that great Black Friday Deal! :) I just have to wait for the Rig and the pedals to arrive so I can finally start my simracing journey. Great to see that you have so much fun with the base, really looking forward :) Greetings from Munich!
I got my alpha this week to pair with the VRS pedals. Absolutely perfect combination. To drive the car on instinct and without any guesswork is incredible. Coming from a Moza R9
@@S2GUnit I had the R9 for just over a year and I was happy with it but was always lusting over something more premium. The differences I noticed instantly was the "resolution" of the feedback, it was like i had more "FPS" in gaming terms. Less notchy and I felt like I could control the car more. For some reason I felt I could get on power so much easier and faster out of corners and feeling the limit like that prevents me from spinning out more of the time. From my research if you have an alpha mini then your experience should be the same but with slightly less torque. Which shouldn't be a problem as I don't max mine out anyway. I set it to max in the software but use the auto feature in iracing so the force feels similar but the whole feel of everything is leagues ahead of the moza!
Started with Moza R5 Bundle...then went to R12 + more wheels.😮 As of now, I have Alpha U, FX Pro and GT Pro Hub out for delivery today. This video was right on time. Lots of Moza stuff for sale now. Appreciate you sharing journey and what you are experiencing now with upgrade. Good input for me. I'll keep an eye on upcoming videos. Thanks...we do benefit from your input!
PS: I would love to hear your thoughts with the Feedback Detail turned down to 10 and WRS around 50. Will feel 'different' but I think once you get used to it you'll be smiling even more ;-)
I've been running my Alpha Ultimate for a couple of months now, and for me, I find that each car requires its own FFB strength to get the best out of the car. I've found that if I go too strong it slows me down because the resistance of the wheel slows how fast I can turn the wheel, and fighting the wheel becomes tiring. On the flip side, if I go too soft with the FFB I don't get a proper feeling for the car. I'm yet to find a car where I'm fast at 10NM or above, but I haven't reached above an iRacing C class licence yet, so the number of cars I'm driving is fairly limited. The real advantage is the sense of the road surface because of the increased frequency sensitivity. Well, that's my sense of it anyway, but as I said, I'm only a couple of months into it, so I still consider myself a bit of a novice because I feel there's still a lot about my wheelbase I still have to learn. I'm too busy just jumping in to race, instead of playing with the multitude of tuning options, that will come later. For me personally, I couldn't be happier with the Simagic Alpha Ultimate. Swapping out between my two wheels is easy and fast, and everything just works all of the time, I've had no glitches, it's just plug and play. I'm running all Simagic gear, and I consider it top shelf, I couldn't be happier.
I'm using a FFB Frequency of 4 because it increases the feel of the road surface, and my Feedback Detail is at about 10. But I'm still yet to start playing with the settings and really learn about my wheelbase. I'm sure more experienced people can provide better information than me. Especially, as I don't know what it's like to use any other type of wheelbase.
Congrats brother on the upgrade I’m literally sitting here contemplating the same upgrade .. I run a gt neo on my logi g pro 11nm base but man I’m tempted at the ultimate
Feedback frequency would change the feel of tire hitting road bumps and vibrations from spongy to harder material wheel as if the wheel more of made of metal, the change is noticable in F1 to me
Great video Jack. Thanks for showing SimPro - I'd be curious to know what your settings are now, 3 weeks in, and also what your iRacing settings are? Still doing some experiments on my end but always looking for other settings to try. Thanks!
I am loving my Alpha U. My wheels are the GT Neo and the GT Pro Hub(K) with the round rim. Loving both wheels, amazing quality and comfort. How are you liking the FX Pro? That one is still on my wish list.
I went from Logitech g29 to dd csl 8nm and now have a Asatek Invicta 27nm and I love it only on gt3 cup cars I need strong feedback I cranked up to 20nm on my Invicta not sure why that is
just ordered one myself this week and it arrived today. upgrading from a csl dd 8nm so it's quite the upgrade. hopefully I can setup the base this weekend as soon as the mounting bracket arrives. Looking good on your side though! Once you got everything dialed in, would you mind sharing your thoughts on the settings in the simagic software and in iracing? just curious!
@mouseFPV great question! Do in theory yes I would've set it so low that even in extreme high-speed or bumps I wouldn't have clipped. But this wasn't practical as I wanted more from the base, even if I was to clip for a super brief moment. So rather than use 6- 7.5 and be "safe" I was using 8-9.5nm with a slimmer headroom margin
I’m trying tu run my alpha u with all effects 0 now, i think i’m getting used to it, FFB feels better… i don’t know… WRS feels weird when it’s on… it’s like i’m trying to turn and some one is pushing the wheel of the racing line… try it and tell me what u think…
Im on a g29 on a wheel stand. anyone have any ideas for upgrade path. i want to end out with the ultimate. So i am think proper simlabs rig first then pedals. thoughts?
Great video as always. I use a DD2 and was toying with the idea of getting an Alpha U. Typical when it comes to Black Friday, the fanatec website goes down again. It pisses me off that a company like fanatec can not do simple things right. How can i buy anything from them or get info, if the website goes down. It just gives me no confidence with the product. The eco system does not appeal to me as i use Sim Lab Xp1 pedals. Simagic seems a good option to go to now.
Great video as always brother.

Just got the alpha u, p2000, fx-pro, and hprs from sim shop and can’t wait. They should arrive sometime next week! Upgrading from the CSL dd

Love my alpha, would love the U even more. Congrats on getting it!
I went from an r12 to an Alpha U earlier this year. I love it. The detail the overhead lets you feel is amazing.
Have mine coming this week paired with VRS pedals
I did the exact same thing. Moving on from a Fanatec DD1.

Went from logitech to fanatec to moza to simucube 😂. Endgame setup finally done
@madsr57 hey man, im looking at upgrading my g920.. was just wondering where youre selling your items? Cheers

Of course we now expect an updated 100% Force Feedback Sim-Racing Challenge, Jack ;-).
Welcome to the club! I went from Alpha Alpha to Alpha Ultimate, where as the Alpha is awesome the Ultimate takes it to 11!
What did you find so much better? Just loving the stronger FFB or noticing more detail?
@@S2GUnit The Alpha has just good detail and the Ultimate has great detail plus all FFB you could need and that's before the 360Hz update.
You can pick up the Alpha U and FX Pro for $1300 right now… killer deal.

I ordered a sturdier sim chassis from Advanced Sim Racing (asr4). Hopefully I get ahold of the Alpha U next year !! Glad you’re liking it!!

Try Race Beyond Matter Simagic setting he has for his wheel. They feel real good to me. And been using them for a bit now
You should frame your old base on the shelf in the background
Would it be worth it to go from an Alpha to an Alpha U ?

Do you usually take the chicane in 3rd gear?😳
@HighValueTargetRacing I've never raced SFLs at Imola lol, trust me , there is a huge adjusting period to this base, like learning how to walk again 🤣
LOL what the heck is your lollipop man wearing 😂
Try smoothness 1 insertia 29 damper 10
Don’t use gloves with the neo wheel they fade bad with gloves have u had the fx pro fade at all with gloves
