No one and I mean no one can do this in my town… all they want to do is put gel nails on me and no nail care. So thank you for showing this, I will be doing my own nails from now on!
OMG!! At 70 years old and a nail biter, I wish I had watched this video years ago!! SO well done! The best DYI I’ve ever seen. From your delivery, tone of voice, information given, to the background music. Wonderful job!!!
I hear you! I was a lifelong nail biter. 52 years. Getting dentures cured that problem instantly! Since then I’ve cared for my nails religiously. Never had any to care for before so it was a fun new thing.
I was until I had road traffic accident- I was on life support machine, when I came off machine gained consciousness saw I had lovely long nails lol (mutiple fractures though 😂) - not had nibble on my nails since. I like old fashion nail care.
Your demonstration of how to file the sides of the nail tip is very clear and helpful. The camera closeups are very good too. TY & thanks to the model for letting us see her progress.
It’s so relaxing watching you work. I have learned several things already that I should t have been doing. Thank you for teaching us the right way of caring for our nails. God bless
Yes I agree you have definitely taught me a lot in just a few days. I've been cutting my living skin for so long thinking I'm doing my at home manicure correctly. Thank you for teaching me the correct way to do a manicure now my nails are much healthier and strong when I started to follow your steps.
Same! So many times I’d push back all the skin, cut off the long raggedy parts, and then days later the living skin all around my nails would start peeling off 😬. I’ve put some oil next to my bed and bathroom sink, time to change my habits!
What an amazing difference in just those 5 weeks! Congratulations to your client for stopping nail biting, and thanks to you for showing a simple and well explained process. I want to give my grandmother a manicure for her birthday and this was super helpful
after years of wearing long acrylics and biting and picking my nails when i wasn’t i am so ready to regrow my natural nails and take care of them where i feel confident wearing them with just polish!!
Your videos explain nail anatomy and show very important details of proper nail care so well! I have learned a lot about what and what not to do. After 4 decades of improper strategies to fix my nail and cuticle issues, I'm looking forward to 4 decades of nail care and maintenance.
Great video. Thank you so much. I, like many others, thought that ‘all’ the skin at the base of the nail was cuticle ! Now I know how to care properly for the skin in that area. Invaluable information.
5 weeks time, a lot of love and care and now you have changed the health of your nails for life. Great job ladies! Thank you for sharing your journey.🌸V
I always heard that you should always file in One direction and I see that isn't necessary. That is so surprising to me. Thank you so much for these videos. I am really learning a lot. I'm so grateful!
Yes, I was just thinking the same thing back and forth would make ridges in the nails. That file seems like it is so rough to be used on callouses instead of nails.
Thank you so much for showing and explaining all of this, watching I just realized, that I never really was shown how to care for my nails. Going over the hard skin with a file is new to me and I will start that! What really helped my fingertips that always had been getting deep cuts in the wintertime was a hand- and nailcream I started cooking for myself, containing Baobab- and Jojobaoil, Sheabutter, Vit. B12, D-Panthenol and Pomgranate-extract.
I always used to keep my nails square/squoval whether short or long. But I think the shape in this video is so lovely & suits me much better, (they also catch less & don't often break in this shape!) I just struggle to get it right & maintain it as the nails grow. Any tips Anna? 🤗🥰
I just saw this video and I have to say that I really like your approach to taking care of the natural nails. Mine are very soft and thin and I had to stop going to the salons because they were always too rough on my nails and making them actually even thinner than they already are. You have gained yourself a new subscriber and I'll be going now to check out your other videos, especially the ones on self care.
Your videos are fantastic. I’m pretty new to your channel and I have found so much information. I’ve taken to doing my own manicures because the salons exacerbate the onycholysis some of my nails are prone to. Since following your recommendations on several videos, my cuticles are the healthiest they’ve ever been and my nails are the strongest and prettiest they’ve ever been. I am perfectly happy wearing my nails naturally after doing a gentle manicure on myself using your instructions. Thank you! Absolutely fantastic! Thank you!
After watching your video I did exactly what you said to do and my goodness, was that a change in my nail health! I literally had a little infection on my thumb that lasted for months because I apparently was too damaging and aggressive on my skin and as soon as I did your routine it started to heal and close up. My nails look healthy, pretty and they're growing strong. I'll buy the Jojoba oil and start to use that daily as well and going to get a glass cuticle remover as well because I only have wooden and plastic ones that aren't as precise as yours. I really wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge and being such a helpful nailtech that didn't gatekeep and instead explained everything so simple and patient. Thank you thank you thank you!
This is brilliant! Your gentle guidance and intelligence shines through in this video. What a great idea to help others achieve a perfect manicure routine.
You are absolutely the best at explaining everything! I’ve been doing my nails for nails now and couldn’t figure out why they would break and now I know ! I was too rough with pretty much every step 😮
Ya know what's crazy? My instincts were telling me not to remove dead skin/calluses. I'm actually so glad I resisted the temptation. But I certainly can be doing things better and I'm learning so much.
I never knew not to cut off the primal fold AKA living skin!! I’ve always had it pushed back cut and seen it been cut off in manicures! They would never really remove the cuticle! Wow! I didn’t know the difference between primal fold and cuticle till I saw this video! ❤
Wow! I got the file and it is definitely a game changer!! Love it! I would like to know is the care for the fingers same for toes? The pinky toes is such a challenge for me since the healthy living skin overhangs on top of my nail so much. Any recommendations you have to get to the cuticle safely would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! I watch your gentle manicures the most because my nails are thin and frail from my medications. Thank you for all of the work you do to educate the public!❤️
This is amazing. I didn't realize u could gently file the skin right beside the nail. I used to have a terrible skin picking habit and it was often that skin that would get me started on picking. Now I know I can take care of it so it is already smooth. Thank you for the tips.

Hi A S. Thank you so much for the kind words. We have affiliate links in the description box of all our videos. :) If you run into any issues let us know! Cheers! - MSL
Beautiful video and transformation in just 5 weeks! Thank you for the precise demonstration and filing technique. I think I've been too hard on my nails and will be more gentle and will try this method. Thank you!
Very nice! I am sure your client is very pleased! Thank you for talking about the tools you use as well! I love quality over quantity, so I have ordered the file in Fine, because I prefer natural nails. I don't understand the sandpaper files, they only damage the nail in my opinion.
This is excellent! I have never seen a manicure done like this. Do you know anyone in NYC who works the way you do? It's no wonder my nails always break on the sides; I've been filing incorrectly. Thank you for so many very useful tips. I'm new to this channel, and I want to throw away every nail product I own, except for nail oils, and buy everything you recommend! 😊
HI Mercedes. Thank you as always for the kind words. Unfortunately, there isn't anyone we know (off the tops of our heads at least) that does this kind work in NYC. If that changes we'll let you know! - MSL
This is incredible, so helpful and educational ! There are no natural nail care salons in my area, they are all owned by Vietnamese or Chinese people and they are “experts” in gel, shilac, tips, and other fake long-lasting, Frankenstein-approve products 😅.. I can’t even breathe in those salons, so I can imagine how bad it is for your nails! I refuse to go and want to care for my natural nails myself. Thank you for teaching me how, it’s not very difficult or time consuming, I just need the right tools. I so appreciate your time and effort! ❤😊🎉
Never thought I would be the type to relax with watching manicures, lol. Results are amazing! I am currently trying to figure out the best nail shape for me. My skin and nails are in fairly good condition, but my nails tend to be narrower at the bottom, and then it widens towards the tip. They are also tending towards more 'wide' shape, with a wide area of skin next to the nail, which I find very unflattering on myself. Is there a place I can send a picture of them to get advice on it? :)
I watched your video for the first time today. wow! I have been doing things I didn't know I shouldn't be doing! I have a challenge with my left pinky nail. I get this faint thin line from the cuticle to the end. every time it gets a little longer, it breaks where the line is. it is always my shortest nail. not sure what that is about.
Yeah the single biggest tip is how to file that white part. For a few years I never realized that I was causing ridges on the edges and this weird little notch of nail that was detached from the main nail. It’s totally from filing on the sides too deep.
What nail polish is this? I do not see it listed here. Also: Thank you for this step by step transformation, and thank you also to the hand model! Very inspirational.
Hello - I came across your videos tonight and I am very glad I did, you answered a lot of questions I have had for a long time. I saw the video about applying oil to your nails after washing your hands. I work at a deli and I washy hands and wear gloves with powder countless times a day.... I am not sure if I will be allowed the oil. have you any recommendations for us food service workers?
Thank you for this very informative and detailed video. Great tips and advice! I have been doing my manicures this way but at the spa I work at we often get clients who demand that we cut that part, their ‘cuticle’ and that the salons they usually go to always do that! So I have to cut it :-/
This video was SO helpful. I’m 37 and my Mom just isn’t a girly girl. I know this feels like common sense to you, and really it is, when someone explains it to you! 😅
I totally understand. It took me a while to process this as well and it wasn’t so simple in the beginning. I overthink everything and finally things fell into place. Over time I developed very simple, low maintenance techniques that really work. I’m so excited about it that I just have to share it :).
Thank you so much for imparting your knowledge towards us. I got inspired and now I want to learn it so I can do it for me and for my mother-in-law since she is struggling with biting her nails. However with a nice routine such like this will eventually help her get her nails in to good form.!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Any file is good. Its preference:) I prefer finish with a sponge board like I do here: Pro nail tech does her own DIY manicure at home ✅ beginner friendly ✅ th-cam.com/video/PWfrqQOfwQI/w-d-xo.html
Hi Anna. I use jojoba oil on my cuticles but I was wondering if there Is any benefit to putting oil on the underside of the nails? My nails are long and are polished about 80% of the time. Thanks!
i use ella + mila base coat/nail hardener (the product packaging indicates that it's both) and i have peeling pretty bad after some badly removed press ons. can you talk about this brand too? p.s. i mentioned it on this video because i don't know if it's more like a polish than a nail hardener or strengthener (btw please correct me if it's a misnomer and there's no difference between a hardener and strengthener as far as results are concerned for peeling nails)
I want a career change so I've been learning how to do nails by myself. I don't like how harsh they treat my nails at the salon so I'm looking for a way that doesn't damage the nails. I'm so glad that I've found your channel!
Hi Jeanette. I recommend using a clean tool to push back the living skin (Proximal Nail Fold). Using nails is not the safest because nails can harbor a lot of bacteria and also it can lead to developing unhealthy habits like picking and prying with your nails.
Thank you for this thorough video!! I have Blue Cross also, it's great! Can you share what bottle you transfer it to for application with the glass applicator?? Thank you!
Could you please tell me the names of the products you used in this episode? Also it is okey to apply polish directly on the nail and not use base coat? Does this harm the nail bed? Thanks.
Hi! I've been really prone to dry and thickened skin around the nails for quite some time and am wondering if you would recommend a cream with just urea or if I could use one with both urea and lactic acid?
Hello there :) If the skin is thickened then urea and lactic acid is a great idea. I really like the Kerasal with salicylic acid. Kerasal (Amazon) amzn.to/3dy31F7 Kerasal (iHerb) bit.ly/3XCWKvF
Are you tilting the nail file back towards you slightly? Or is that just an illusion caused by the camera and the file is actually straight and parallel to the nail? I know angles are so important. Thank you!
Love your teaching. So many are using alcohol gel to disinfect hands when out. Should we be putting oil or a bit of cream on also to counteract the dryness. Oil seems a bit difficult to carry. 💕
I just purchased a set of 10 little roller ball bottles with a key chain loop on Amazon for $9. I plan to carry jojoba oil in them for when I'm out. I don't typically carry a handbag, but if you do, it's totally worth it. Especially if you're using alcohol on your hands consistently.
Hey guys recently found your channel and interested to know what's the best way I can keep under my nails clean seems I am constantly washing them and lotion them but cant seem to keep dirt and grim out
@TheSalonLife Hi Anna. I have hard skin that grows along the side and attaches to the back of my nails like your models. It causes me to pick. I used to bite but haven't for years. My nails also grow on the sides all the way down over the skin. I don't like this. Is there a nail shape that would stop this?
Hi Dottie, yes the cuticle on your toenails can be removed in the same fashion as on your fingernails, same with pushing back the living skin. Thanks! - MSL
Hello, thank you for your videos, they are great! I haven't done anything on my nails ever, and now, I'm 44, I might start to put on some polish. I see here that you only use the polish and not a base coat. I was told it is better to use first the base and then the polish. What would you recommend?
Hello Alejandra. Dior Nail Glow is a polish that is designed to be used in 1-2 coats. This polish bonds well without a base coat. Base coat has 2 functions. 1. To bond to the nail and 2. prevent staining from pigments (sort of) This polish bonds very well and it doesn't have any pigments to really worry about. Base coat does not "protect" the nail plate.
omg hahaha I grow up in Spain and when you said Mercadona I had such a flash back and I started to sing the song lol very nice and good video very well explained thank you xxxx
your videos popped up for some reason and I subscribed, not being originally interested in the subject, but for your presence and positive vibe : ). But now I am inspired to do this every week, getting some cuticle remover and definitely do the oil soak. I use the wooden pointy sticks for cuticles, apparently cherry wood, I guess they are good? God bless again : )
Ah, thank you so much! Such a lovely message to read after a busy day :)) I really appreciate it. I've never head about cherry wood stick, usually they call them orangewood or birchwood sticks. Not sure if they are really made of that wood or just named that way :)
Hello :). No I haven’t used Londontown. It might have a nice formula, the brushes look fantastic which will help the application, the packaging is gorgeous but looking at the ingredients it’s not any “cleaner” or better or healthier than other brands. Non of the polishes are toxic if you use them according to instructions. Despite what some brands marketing departments say.
ps. here is a great article www.nailpro.com/news/industry-news/article/21533654/5-deceptive-or-misleading-marketing-claims-nontoxic-xxxfree-organic-natural-and-chemicalfree
Her nails look great! Really enjoyed the video. I saw in the supermarket today Sally Hansen Complete care 7-in-1 treatment. Description says revives dry brittle nails. Restores nail strength, moisture and brightness. Cost $20 but online for $11.99 from Chemist Warehouse. This is in Australia. I wonder how it compares to Dior Nail Glow?
Polishes don’t really restore anything. They are pretty much solvents and film formers. Warm oil soaks restore flexibility and help with brittle nails. Not nail polish. Polish is an icing on the cake. Looks pretty and pretty much that’s it.
Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering if the finishing effect would look the same as the Dior Nail Glow. Considering how cheap it is, I would buy this if it was very similar to the Dior.
Please could you demonstrate how to hold a clients hand when you apply polish. My clients have lazy hands and I have to correct them. I also find it hard to avoid the wet nails whilst I am polishing
That is a good idea for a video! You do have to correct clients. Don't be afraid to ask for them to sit straight or to hold their hand certain way. I will make a video about it :)
Is pure acetone best for removal or a more gentle remover with less acetone percentage or a remover without acetone at all? My nails tend to be peeling and breaking.
Love love your video's! 😍 But can you tell me why you didn't apply a base coat or a bonder before polishing? Another question I have is what do you when a client comes in & what's shellac but has a finger with a split nail down the side of the nail? Like from edge of nail down to almost the cuticle? Help!! 😵
Hi Gail! This is a product that it’s designed to be used as 1-2 coats with no base and top. Shellac is supposed to be used on normal, healthy nails so any splits in natural nails would be contraindication.
Hi Jeanette, I think what you are saying is that the skin around your nails looks very healthy and not dry like it was. As I explained in the video the cuticle is removed from the nail during a manicure. The living skin which is called (Proximal Nail Fold) or simply "skin around the nails" is then taken care of with creams and oils. Cuticle can't be healthy. It's a bunch of dead skin cells that fell of the bottom part of the skin fold (that thin area that produces cuticle tissue is called eponychium). So there are 2 things around the nail: Living skin (Proximal nail fold and lateral nail folds) and cuticle (dead skin cells that are sitting on the nail plate) It's very important to be able to tell the difference between these 2. Here is a helpful drawing: www.thesalonlife.ca/post/nail-anatomy
Thanks for showing how to deal with thick & hard skin on the side of the nails! @TheSalonLife How do you deal with extra living skin? I think this is what is always so long when i push back my Cuticles.
hello Joy, filing in 1 direction seems to be an old wives tale. I've been filing like this for 25 years and my clients don't experience peeling. Peeling is from damaged surface and not how you file. Also if you file with coarser file the finish will be rough and it can catch on things. So then either smooth the edge with a buffer block or use a fine file Here how scientist explains it 👉 FILING NAILS IN 1 DIRECTION? by Doug Schoon th-cam.com/video/LdpvdDJ9wJI/w-d-xo.html
Hi I started now to watch Ur videos it's helping me alot .can u tell me how to find a good nail polishes which qualities should be in nail polish? BCS when I'm buying some nail polishes are thick some are thin, so I'm becoming confused what shoul buy
No one and I mean no one can do this in my town… all they want to do is put gel nails on me and no nail care. So thank you for showing this, I will be doing my own nails from now on!

You are absolutely the best at explaining everything! I’ve been doing my nails for nails now and couldn’t figure out why they would break and now I know ! I was too rough with pretty much every step 😮
I always thought you only file nails in one direction yet every video shows filing in a back and forth motion. Does this work and not cause breaking?
Ya know what's crazy? My instincts were telling me not to remove dead skin/calluses. I'm actually so glad I resisted the temptation. But I certainly can be doing things better and I'm learning so much.

Mine too. I think it is more a reaction to not big enough toe boxes in our shoes for so long.

Most technicians tell people to file one way, not back and forth. You show that is works either way.
Love the way my nails are improving by following your excellent guidance❤

Hello -
I came across your videos tonight and I am very glad I did, you answered a lot of questions I have had for a long time.
I saw the video about applying oil to your nails after washing your hands. I work at a deli and I washy hands and wear gloves with powder countless times a day.... I am not sure if I will be allowed the oil.
have you any recommendations for us food service workers?
Wonderful vlog, thank you. I subbed to watch your other videos. Watching at 1am, and I had to sit up and do a manicure!
Thanks for sharing :)
Fantastic video! I needed this so much. Thank you for making this video.
Thank you so much for imparting your knowledge towards us. I got inspired and now I want to learn it so I can do it for me and for my mother-in-law since she is struggling with biting her nails. However with a nice routine such like this will eventually help her get her nails in to good form.!!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi. First of all thank you for enriching everyone here with your knowledge. It is helpful. My question is, can I use glass file to shape the edges ?
Any file is good. Its preference:) I prefer finish with a sponge board like I do here:

Fantastic video. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. I learn so much today. Glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much Christine! ❤️
Es mi manicura favorita, perfecta y bien hecha.
I like Kokoist 'moon' files, they are a great shape and make it easy to file. DO you recommend only filing to shorten nails or clipping then filing?
Hi! Can you please, recomande another products ? There is not Blue cross in my country ...thank you!l love your work❤
Is it better for the nail growth to use a base coat or leave it natural and use oil?
For the nails it's better no nail polish. Polish looks nice but it doesn't protect or "heal" the nails.
@@TheSalonLife Thank you !!
I want a career change so I've been learning how to do nails by myself. I don't like how harsh they treat my nails at the salon so I'm looking for a way that doesn't damage the nails. I'm so glad that I've found your channel!
💕💕💕is it okay to use your thumb nail to push your cuticles back gently after applying oil massaging each fingers daily
Hi Jeanette. I recommend using a clean tool to push back the living skin (Proximal Nail Fold). Using nails is not the safest because nails can harbor a lot of bacteria and also it can lead to developing unhealthy habits like picking and prying with your nails.
Love watching your videos, so helpful and great information.
If you push back your nail fold regularly or too far back, will it always grow back?
Thank you for this thorough video!! I have Blue Cross also, it's great! Can you share what bottle you transfer it to for application with the glass applicator?? Thank you!
A dropper from the Ordinary serum (I love this serum for my face BTW)
THE ORDINARY Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 30ml, 1.01 Fl Oz amzn.to/3t2f0RO
Can you please share what polish you wear on your own nails?

@@TheSalonLife Thank you so much for the response! Will buy a product from the local pharmacy!
Are you tilting the nail file back towards you slightly? Or is that just an illusion caused by the camera and the file is actually straight and parallel to the nail? I know angles are so important. Thank you!
Tiny bit just to bevel that edge. With feather light touch. Good eye!! 👍🏻
Love your teaching. So many are using alcohol gel to disinfect hands when out. Should we be putting oil or a bit of cream on also to counteract the dryness. Oil seems a bit difficult to carry. 💕
Hi Lynn, both would be a good idea. :) - MSL
Thank you! Your video is helpful and inspiring to me! ❤
You are so welcome!
Could you please provide a link for the Dior polish you used at the end of this video? Thank you!
Her progress is so encouraging!
Hey guys recently found your channel and interested to know what's the best way I can keep under my nails clean seems I am constantly washing them and lotion them but cant seem to keep dirt and grim out
After a shower just clean under the nails with soft soapy brush (like a soft toothbrush). Try not to poke under the nails with sharp tools
So why would the sides of my nails be harder if I don't bite my nails? Also I'm new to this channel and it's very informative, thank you
@TheSalonLife Hi Anna.
I have hard skin that grows along the side and attaches to the back of my nails like your models. It causes me to pick. I used to bite but haven't for years. My nails also grow on the sides all the way down over the skin. I don't like this. Is there a nail shape that would stop this?
One question please, should I remove the cuticle on my toes?
Hi Dottie, yes the cuticle on your toenails can be removed in the same fashion as on your fingernails, same with pushing back the living skin. Thanks! - MSL
Best ever video. I needed it so badly!!! Ever so much thanks. Dot
Just what i needed to watch; a detailed tutorial.
Thank you :))
1. To bond to the nail and
2. prevent staining from pigments (sort of)
This polish bonds very well and it doesn't have any pigments to really worry about.
Base coat does not "protect" the nail plate.
@@TheSalonLife thanks for your answer! I see the point. :)
omg hahaha I grow up in Spain and when you said Mercadona I had such a flash back and I started to sing the song lol
very nice and good video very well explained thank you xxxx
Yes, that song is very catchy!! I'm very happy you found the video helpful :))
your videos popped up for some reason and I subscribed, not being originally interested in the subject, but for your presence and positive vibe : ).
This was such a lovely tutorial. Thank you so much !
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for all this great knowledge! Have you used Lindontown nail products,? If so, what is your opinion of the quality?
Hello :). No I haven’t used Londontown. It might have a nice formula, the brushes look fantastic which will help the application, the packaging is gorgeous but looking at the ingredients it’s not any “cleaner” or better or healthier than other brands. Non of the polishes are toxic if you use them according to instructions. Despite what some brands marketing departments say.
ps. here is a great article
www.nailpro.com/news/industry-news/article/21533654/5-deceptive-or-misleading-marketing-claims-nontoxic-xxxfree-organic-natural-and-chemicalfree
Thank you for this information. I am learning proper care for my nails after years of not knowing how to do things correctly.
Can you please add a link to the standard nail file? Love❤ your channel
What grit size is the black file you are using to work on the hard skin?
Here are the ingredients 95% are solvents and film formers and plasticizers if not more.
BUTYL ACETATE, ETHYL ACETATE, NITROCELLULOSE, TRIMETHYL PENTANYL DIISOBUTYRATE, ALCOHOL DENAT., ADIPIC ACID/NEOPENTYL GLYCOL/TRIMELLITIC ANHYDRIDE COPOLYMER, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, TRIPHENYL PHOSPHATE, CAMPHOR, AQUA/WATER/EAU, DIISOBUTYL ADIPATE, ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, ETOCRYLENE, CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, ASCORBIC ACID, CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL, GLYCYRRHIZA GLABRA (LICORICE) ROOT EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN, HYDROLYZED ULVA LACTUCA EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, MARIS SAL/SEA SALT/SEL MARIN, METHYLTHIOPROPYLAMIDO ACETYL METHIONINE, OLEA EUROPAEA (OLIVE) FRUIT OIL, PANTHENOL, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, PUNICA GRANATUM EXTRACT, RETINYL PALMITATE, SILK AMINO ACIDS, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, CARTHAMUS TINCTORIUS (SAFFLOWER) SEED OIL, BAMBUSA VULGARIS EXTRACT, GLYCERIN, MYRISTOYL PENTAPEPTIDE-17, NYLON-12, D&C VIOLET NO. 2 (CI 60725).
Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering if the finishing effect would look the same as the Dior Nail Glow. Considering how cheap it is, I would buy this if it was very similar to the Dior.
i go swimming often (1-2 times a week for an hour) is there anything i can do to help my nails. thank you
How doo you keep your nails from yellowing and how do you get your nails pink again?
Great video and instructions! It's also so helpful that you link the tools that you use and recommend. Thank you!!
Thank you Jill!!❤️
Please could you demonstrate how to hold a clients hand when you apply polish. My clients have lazy hands and I have to correct them. I also find it hard to avoid the wet nails whilst I am polishing
That is a good idea for a video! You do have to correct clients. Don't be afraid to ask for them to sit straight or to hold their hand certain way. I will make a video about it :)
I just recently found your channel & your tips & knowledge is very helpful! Do you have a urea lotion you recommend?
Kerasal
I pushed to hard on my nail and now they are too soft. What nail hardener would you recommend please? Dot
Is pure acetone best for removal or a more gentle remover with less acetone percentage or a remover without acetone at all? My nails tend to be peeling and breaking.
More info about the acetone th-cam.com/video/NH657xtCm-c/w-d-xo.html
@@TheSalonLife thank you for this video.
This video was super helpful
Thank you kindly 🤗
💕💕💕my cuticles look very healthy not dry like they were
Hi Jeanette, I think what you are saying is that the skin around your nails looks very healthy and not dry like it was.
So there are 2 things around the nail:
Living skin (Proximal nail fold and lateral nail folds) and cuticle (dead skin cells that are sitting on the nail plate)
It's very important to be able to tell the difference between these 2.
Here is a helpful drawing:
www.thesalonlife.ca/post/nail-anatomy
Thanks for showing how to deal with thick & hard skin on the side of the nails!
@TheSalonLife How do you deal with extra living skin? I think this is what is always so long when i push back my Cuticles.
Thank you for video. To be perfect I will take out every peace of cuticula.
What is the name of the clear pink nail polish please?
Dior Nail Glow but they changed formula and it’s not that great anymore 🥲
Looks like her nails are very thick. Would you do this on thinner nails? Also I always thought you only file in one direction???
hello Joy, filing in 1 direction seems to be an old wives tale. I've been filing like this for 25 years and my clients don't experience peeling. Peeling is from damaged surface and not how you file.
Also if you file with coarser file the finish will be rough and it can catch on things. So then either smooth the edge with a buffer block or use a fine file
Here how scientist explains it
👉 FILING NAILS IN 1 DIRECTION? by Doug Schoon th-cam.com/video/LdpvdDJ9wJI/w-d-xo.html
I have the glass file do you recommend this for a gentle effective file or the steel file as mentioned in this video?
Hi Natta! For personal use the glass file is excellent. :)
Hi I started now to watch Ur videos it's helping me alot .can u tell me how to find a good nail polishes which qualities should be in nail polish? BCS when I'm buying some nail polishes are thick some are thin, so I'm becoming confused what shoul buy
There are many excellent brands, it has less to do with quality of the polish and more to do with preference and the quality of the brush.
