      No, . It took 900 camels to take away the remains after the earthquake. incidentally many images of the Colossus show the god straddling the harbour at Lindos, not as depicted here where it stands feet together. Which is correct?

      They were built with stone which is sturdy but crumbles . They didn’t have the understanding of foundations and supports we have now. The pyramids are so solid and have a sturdy base so they were able to survive .

    Can you please stop using BCE and CE? instead of the right term B.C. (Before Christ)? BCE - 'Before the common era'...is so subjective and such a blatant attempt at removing Christ - the central figure of all History.

    • @WorldHistoryEncyclopedia
      @WorldHistoryEncyclopedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi! If you'd like to know more about why Ancient History Encyclopedia uses BCE/CE, we have an article which explains the origins and history of the BC/AD and BDE/CE dating which you can find here -www.ancient.eu/article/1041/the-origin-and-history-of-the-bcece-dating-system/

    • @RoySamuel
      @RoySamuel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@WorldHistoryEncyclopedia , have you studied the impact of the death and resurrection of Christ, and the subsequent advent of christianity? The apostles were called in the ancient world by secular authorities as, "those who turned the world upside down." There's also the evidence of Jewish scriptures right from the time of Abraham and even earlier that they were promised a coming One, who would establish His Universal Kingdom on the earth. How significant this figure was who fulfilled those prophecies and has indeed put the world on notice - of sin, righteousness and judgment... So the most significant event took place in the death and resurrection of Christ, by which the ancient world decided to name the new era AD (in the year of our Lord). Very significant... Not something some guy decided somewhere to arbitrarily name.

    • @RoySamuel
      @RoySamuel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure, it's not mentioned in the Bible to mark the year AD. It was a historical decision made by most writers and publishers recognizing the significance of Christ's death and the history associated with governments coping with christianity. BCE (before the common era) objectively is the most absurd naming ever! The fact of that absurdity to rename BC shows the fact of the attempt in removing the significance of Christ from that time period. Therefore, please respect History. Respect and report correctly the facts of antiquity as they were.
