It's the extent of Yuja's repertoire that amazes me. I didn't even know that this arrangement by Rachmaninov even existed, and yet Yuja has effortlessly (it seems) incoporated it into her already vast repertoire . . .
Great mix! Seamless switch between Yuja and the orchestra! Bravo!! Yes it is speedy with orchestra part hasten probably to sync up to Yuja's tempo. Nevertheless, I still enjoy it and appreciate the efforts put into creating this video.
I don't know about that, but for me, she's the best i've heard along with Horovitz. His Träumerei and her Chopin waltz are the most perfectly played pieces i've ever heard.
Gergiev is a demanding conductor and always tries to extract something extra from his performance. So does Yuja. Every performance is a search for a fresh and truer interpretation from the last.
Unfortunately nowhere mentioned is the composer ! Could that be Hector Berlioz ? (Eight months later i discovered that the composer's names [Mendelssohn/Rachmaninoff] are written on the video itself, at the start.)
Ludicrously fast. To the point of the rhythm collapsing. A sad trend in all classical music performances nowadays. It's ok to push things a bit, but not to the point where the pulse is lost and replaced by a desperate attempt to keep up under stress.
Fingerhorn4 - As far as your comment, you are the only person here with a true sense of musical hearing. This performance is horrendous, to say the least. Nobody played the notes as a unity. It was a totally disastrous performance and a horrible arrangement (by a brainless pseudo musician) of the pure and pristine original.
@@pope0331 Lol-first time I have heard Rachmaninoff (who did the arrangement Yuja plays in this curious but well done mix) a "brainless pseudo musician"! I think it is YOU who needs more brains-and a better ear...
Yuja Wang already made history!!!❤
Yuja is most probably the best pianist ever..

Wow! Well done! Great idea!

Damn! She gets more awesome with every new You tube entry!

Sono giganti della classica.. Ogni epoca ci regala questi grandi di fama internazionale.....
Probably the greatest pianist since Liszt.
Divine piano playing.
+Michael Schefold Yes Michael, I totally agree. Yuja Wang is a top world musician. This is a Lovely mixed production.
I don't know about that, but for me, she's the best i've heard along with Horovitz.
His Träumerei and her Chopin waltz are the most perfectly played pieces i've ever heard.
+David Martin There are much more perfectly played pieces by Horowitz and Yuja, but I agree with you, both interpretations are great!
And Cziffra, after Liszt, then dear Yuja Wang
Celestial waves! Bravo Yujia!

she plays more notes in this piece than an average tuba player in his entire life (practising included)
She doesn’t even break a sweat.....amazing
Génial ce mixage parfaitement synchrone
The Great Little Giant Lady Yuja Wang!!! I Love Her!!!
This is seriously cool. Great job!
Good idea! Good editing! Thanks for d effort
Watching two grand masters at work...
very interesting combination!

Beautiful Mixing !! Thanxxx
Incredible!
Interesting that her tempo and interpretation is so exactly aligned with Gergiev's.
The tempo is changed a little bit. Gergiev's original tempo is a little slower than Yuja's.
Es hermoso
Some people seem to forget those are 2 different performances
Cracking pace -- gets out of kilter at times

@@carlosalonso3188 Muchas gracias, señor.
dat tempo

mistake (tempo slowed) at second figure in 02:57

E. Diaz del Campo 😂
Her last life could be Bruce Lee! Armed with so swift fingering of good tempos. 👍👍👍
