❤️ I am 50 years old and started living a IT lifestyle in January. Weight loss was great ( I am smaller then I’ve been in 20 years) but that’s not the best part! My skin is amazing , my energy level is off the charts I just feel happier and more balanced. My personal preference is the warriors fast 20/4 but I am very fluid with my fasting and feeding windows to ensure I don’t feel restricted. I highly recommend fasting.

In India so many people do different types of fasting i.e 1 day water fasting, one month water fasting. Some people eat only fruits and nuts for one day up to 7 days. Some people do drink only lemon, sugar water for up to 9 days. Most people do one day fasting regularly once a week, have one meal a day on that day.

Intermittent fasting, hormones, menopause. I was put on Birth control pills by my OBGYN during menopause to control heavy bleeding. Had 2 strokes at 43 in my hypothalamus during. A Neurologist determined it was due to the Birth control pills. Later found out I had hashimoto's from Naturopath. Probably the cause of my heavy bleeding. So I fired my obgyn. Seeing a Naturopath currently.

People have been fasting since the beginning of time. Early humans did not know about calories, or nutritional data, or about needing to drink 8 glasses of water a day. They just ate and drank if they were truly hungry. They didn't have access to constant food like we do. They were forced to go days without eating, especially in the winter.

I cut out all sugARY drinks and snacks. I boosted my intake of vegetables and fish and cut back on other protiens and dairy. I have lost 30 lbs in 3 1/2 months. But after hearing this broadcast im wondering if i have hurt myself. I eat very good food between noon and 6pm , occasionally breaking fast earlier if im hungry. Another FYI: Scientific Studies PROVE beyond a shadow of doubt that good body composition (higher muscle and lower body fat) is highly correlated to longevity. PACK on the muscle as fast as as much as you can while you can. It will keep you alive, help burn off body fat by simply requiring maintenance energy, and will help you from falling down when having balance problems after neurodegenerative attrition in age so you don't break a hip and lose mobility. The more muscle the better - those mitrochondria will gobble up food ingested glucose and fatty acids as well as burn up released body fat (lipids and ketones if in a keto diet protocol) as if magic (elevated metabolism).

    Dear Doctor
I admire your knowledge and very interested in all the information you are sharing, especially regarding IF.
I have some health issues and I am very tired and overwhelmed trying to improve my health.
I was on the birth control pills from the age of 25 till 37 y.o. I am 41 now and my period has never come back since I stopped using pills, 3,5 years ago. About 2 years ago I started to experience aches and pains in my back, my joints and insomnia as well.
A year ago, I found IF and incorporated it since then, doing consistently 13-19 hours every day, I was really hoping to get my health back. However, my pains are with me still and I struggle with insomnia now and then.
I have done I think 7 blood tests through these two years and they all shown that my oestrogen is really getting lower and lower and I had also had my bones scanned, the result was very sad my bones are really weak.
I also dropped some weight, what I didn`t like as I am slim enough, my BMI now 18,5 %.
Endocrinologist prescribed HRT to get my oestrogen level back and protect me from osteoporosis. Now the question is shall I continue with my IF? I am worrying that it could do more harm then good.
What do you think? I would really appreciate your answer.

So my question is if ancient man did not have daily food stocks or clocks how did they eat befor 7pm? They ate when they had food and slept at night. They also had fier so they ate at night some times. Fasting is not a special diet. it's not eating the problem is you can't sell not eating, unless you wright a book about fasting. There are no options, pills, food, vitamins to take when fasting. Drink lots of water and dont eat for a few days. It's hard at first but you get uses to it.

To also help your skin especially during weight loss do 'Dry Skin Brushing'. I found it to 'lift' skin over the months of losing weight. Haven't tried it yet, but learning Autophagy (happens during a particular type of fasting) also will 'lift' skin.

I was oblivious that my age (70) would impact the results I obtained from intermittent fasting and the ketogenic lifestyle. After 3 months, I felt great and I liked that way to live/eat but I had lost muscle and my skin is wrinkled. I did no exercise during that time. At the same time, I was having my biodentical hormones recalibrated. Have Dr. Gersh elaborate on a solution for boomers.

I read somewhere that ones the body starts dumping all the toxins in our bloodstream etc, that we'll start to see (and feel) it in different ways. In pimples, bad odors, thick white stuff on the tongue, bad breath, etc. Supposedly if done long enough, some people even feel aches & pains on old injuries that are healing themselves. I cant say for sure, I've never made it past 4 days! Lol..I'm so weak when it comes to smelling my coworkers coffees in the morning. I typically tap out on day 4! The magic number is 21 days I heard tho. People seem to get optimal healing results by day 21. I'll try again next summer to reach that 21 day mark. Theres no way I'm attempting a water fast during a NJ winter...😂

Best advise I heard for females is "GET OFF BIRTH CONTROL" (it's a 50% greater risk of cancer and totally upsetting to metabolic/hormonal context). Also I'd add to look into using natural cruciferious derived estrogen moderators called DIM ( Diindolylmethane derived from natural foods ) - its like eating a bushel of veggies and really helps get sex hormones (even testos) re-balanced. Very useful for those in menopausal females and those even younger suffering imbalances arising from body fat generated estrogens or xeno-estrogens from foods and cooking/drinking containers (eg plastic bottles and containers etc). This will all normalize hormone context and greatly aid in body fat store/release function. We need non toxic fat cells to act as our energy buffer for times of over eating to be able to store excess cals then pull it all out again when we need the energy (fasting periods of low insulin.

When your body is burning fat to convert to ketones it puts a stress on the liver. The body will sacrifice heat to the extremities during the process. You’ll notice too if you refeed with protein your body gets warmer as it has a thermogenic effect. The body heats up during protein breakdown

Does the stem cell rejuvenation and apoptosis happen with intermittent fasting, or time restricted eating as well? Also since I work out in the AM, what do you recommend as a "pre-workout"? I heard some calories are okay and I've heard you can't have any (which is more what I believe since any calories would kick you out of fasting)... but I feel like I would need something to get me through my workout. Maybe tea?

    • @TheAntonbacon
      @TheAntonbacon 5 ปีที่แล้ว

You can use a teaspoon of heavy cream. Butter, or MCT oil in your water or tea but plain water is best. If your over wait then the fat your trying to burn off is all the food you need. If you're going 13 to 18 hours in between meals you should still lose wait. That 13 to 18 hours get some benefits of autophagy but they are better if you can fast 24, 48, or 72 hours unless your trying to loose a lot of waite you dont realy need to fast more than 3 days. Once or twice a month.

    Hi,
There are no studies about the effect of fasting in women. A few studies done on female vs male rats suggest that fasting is not as beneficial for women as it is for men. The overall conclusion was that fasting was actually detrimental to the female rats. The object of the studies was not the weight loss, but the health benefits - both female and male rats lost weight.
Could you please shed some light on this? Thanks.

i am 55 years old - currently on my 3rd water fasting programme in 2 months - first lasted 5 days after 2 weeks did 6 days and now am attempting 10 days. drinking only pure filtered water - can I still take multi -vitamins during this time - omega 3, magnesium, iron, zinc - i have 20kg to lose and planning to do a week a month of water fasting, then a week of broth and veg smoothies and then 2 weeks low carb no sugar diet (intermittent fasting 1 meal a day) . i want to repeat this every month until i reach my goal weight. i would like to know if i can take multivitamins during the water fasting.

You can but they can be hard on an empty stomach not taking your vitamins for 4 or 10 days a few times a month won't hurt you. If your doing a water fast then just do water and fasting.

Only in US people eat 3 meals plus snacks the new immigrants over eat when they arrive mistakenly thinking how rich people eat
Yes unfortunately other countries are following this system that is why now illnesses and obesity is showing up in other countries
Late night eating in Uruguay is after a long nap after work then wake up around 10pm (only if going out at night returning home in morning (and nothing is rushed went out after midnite to club ) they are still having periods of fasting and most walk a lot

This Dr talking differently from the rest of other researchers and doctors. She is confusing us I am not agreeing with her. Intermittent fasting should be 16 hours or more and one should eat small meal when breaking the fast .
Fast from 7-8 night the eat around 12 AM
