I felt your pain watching this. My drains on my house were very complicated and I can tell you that sometimes you can chamfer the edges and put on litres of lube - but sometimes they just REFUSE to push in to the socket on those underground fittings. And they also cost a small fortune!! I had to install 3 inspection chambers with risers and god knows how many fittings. Blew my budget completely. Sending the wife back to SF many times to get “just one more bend or tee to see if that would help”. 😅 You did really well, better than me, not to lose your patience 😡 😂
That looks like a nice, neat job. The owners will be well pleased with that. I hope Alex enjoys his break and Steve doesn't over do things, working on his own. I look forward to the next video.
Alright guys, neat job. Something we do is where you had the small metal grate ( cut piece) , we put if at the start, then the rest of the grates bond across the joints if you get my meaning, we found it just aided stability. You got two full views off me for this video, first time I fell asleep trying to watch when home from work, but got to see it in full properly this time, see you soon guys
First class job as always, your attention to detail is fantastic. Looks like your hip is giving you some grief Steve, try not to overdo it when Al is away.
Great video top class work as always...get the playing surface flat so much easier as you know...keep up the good work lads...have a good break Al...you deserve a rest...cheers boys
I would have removed the existing drain pot, and repositioned a new drain pot in line with the AccoDrain along the front, and put a new shorter connection from the pot into the existing 4” drain…I think it would be possible to creat sufficient fall in both directions to allow it to drain…and lastly, simply have put a bend and show at the bottom of the down pipe so it discharged in the new pot in the new position…might have been a bit easier for you…
It is exactly what I said, how you could see that the drain was a couple of mil out I don’t know but you leave no stone unturned to do a first class job.
@@SteveAndAlexBuild in mate takes the piss i was told when doing drainage always get mor fitting than you need then you don’t have to keep going back to the merchants
it is always hard trying to match drains up .i have one of those screw driver sets well actually two please can you tell me the mix for rendering thanks for the video
Do u not put a trap at the end of your run at acos. It shall smell if going to the sewer... should always trap if it leading to sewer.. normally gullys are trapped or sealed unless they go to a soakaway, and this being in the front garden would probably go to sewer...
I assume that the drain disappearing into the ground ends up in the sewer - does that acro thing come with a waterlock to prevent less desirable scents coming up through it?
What a palava with the drains. If ever there was an example of measure twice cut once that was it!! Don't let me upset you. I have done just the same. I have a collection of probably useless off cuts that one day will fill a skip!!!!
Is the young guy a tradesman, an apprentice or a labourer??? Seems to me the Dad does all the real work, and the young guy spends his time on his phone or playing with the cameras, and disappears when the technical work needs done. Just asking!!!!! He says "Hard one today " FFS Dad did all the work!!!!
thank you for amazing tips for aco drainage :):):):)

Love the channel but can i ask where is the trap for the aco drain you will get smells back from the drain
No smells it’s a surface drain 🧱👍🏽
Have you checked that storm line doesnt drop into foul line further downstream because if it does you wil get the smells with no trap

You can get attachments to take the Aco direct into a down gully pipe, if you ever need to
