TOUGH EXTENSION UP TO DPC ..PART 2

  • THIS WEEK WE GO TO THE BUILDERS MERCHANTS TO PICK UP SOME MATERIALS AS THERE ISN'T A LOT OF ROOM ON THE JOB .
    WE BUILD SOME FACEWORK AND GET THE INSIDE WALL UP TO DPC LEVEL SO WE HAVE THE OPTION TO DO THE SLAB IF THE WEATHER IS TOO BAD FOR BRICKWORK ......ENJOY
    #UPTODPC #FOOTING #AWKWARD
    This week i (Ste) dig out and install all the new drainage for the extension . It was quite tough and took nearly all day with the odd hick up too. It all makes a lot more sense now than when we dug it up...
    It was all done in 100 mm brown underground plastic pipe .There are seperate drains for surface water and the foul ..... enjoy 🧱👍🏽
    This week its the missing part 3 video . We uploaded part 4 by mistake last week . Its just a simple mainly normal speed video showing me and Al getting a few courses on before we prepped for the slab ....Enjoy

    Brickies good job, from a sparky, o yeah just a basic question I am having my home workshop in a concrete or wood form, concrete is compton garage and wood is that lap type, for the woodshed if I use 2 x 2 concrete slabs on top of sand, that has been dug out to have no roots, I pref when you could get lime, simply take 2 inches of top soil off, lime the bollocks out of the soil then a sand layer, leveled off, with the 2 x 2 slabs on top, making the base, what would you do?

    Love watching your videos, I find it so satisfying watching brick being laid for some reason! What was the issue with the half brick? Did you re-jig that just for the overall look? • @SteveAndAlexBuild
      @SteveAndAlexBuild  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      stephen4X . That half was a school boy error 🙄, I could have edited it out but hey nobody is perfect . I had a header (half ) at one corner and a stretcher (full face ) at the other resulting in a half in the middle ..... a major no no . So i had to re build the corner so I had Stretcher to stretcher on each corner so getting rid of the half . Hope that made sense 😳🤔. We did an extension a couple of years ago in Prescott . Colin Nicol . Not sure where your from Colin but DPC goes 150 mm above finished ground level . On this build there are 4 courses ( 300 mm ) of face brick up to DPC . 2 of those courses I’ll be buried . I gave the time stamp because it clearly shows the DPC 🧱👍🏼
